Nice job on the mortising but man 😕, drill a proper hole and blow the sawdust out and spray some lubricant on that latch, they are dry from the factory 👍🏻😂
@jerryholmes9999 The shape of the latch was elongated, so the easiest approach is to make it to the shape of the latch as I don't want a drill bit rattling around possibly causing damage to the face of the door, maybe I could have blown the old shavings out and the latch it should not need any lubricant in it as they have a smooth action dry locks is not a problem, only when there is friction there is a problem, then you lubricant, thanks anyway 👍😂
