For me this is the essence of music. You always expect something to happen, are curious about what will happen next. Long riffs and parts, mastery of instruments, awareness of what they're doing. Nice sounds all the way with distorted, sometimes non matching tones. Primus represents life. Hah I'm not even tripping I promise :D

man, these boys are just on a whole other level. ever since i first heard them when i was 9 years old they have just been my go to guys for when i want to hear something uniquely brilliant. you can listen to all sorts of bands and genres, but Primus... you feel and hear that shit. all of them are SO good, that, in almost another setup, (exceptions being the likes of Madeski Schofield, Martin and Wood etc) they would rule supreme. and despite their absolute control of their instruments they remain so humble, play together, SUPER tight and without ego. no one instrument attempts to dominate the spectrum - such is their understanding of musical theory to such a high level. and they play in unison, which is rare for musicians of their calibre, their own awesome, technically superb, pure fucking art. if you dont like primus, you are either deaf (in which case fair enough); or your knowledge of music is so limited that you really are not entitled to any meaningful opinion. you probably struggle with finger painting, making sure your velcro sneakers are on the right feet, and i would wager highly rate the kings of leon. Thanks Primus - you add to the VERY FEW reason why when the aliens come they should not kill us all. you're welcome for lunch at my place any time.

Yes Les, The Nightbreak was a friggin awesome music club on Haight! Nice set of the early Primus tunz- they would blow away the crowds with this stuff at the Berkeley Square and the Omni. That was a good time for the Bay area music scene- FNM, Deathangel, Fungo Mungo, Limbomaniacs, Psychefunkapus, MCM and the Monster, MIRV, the Deli Creeps, Rancid, & some cute kids called Green Day were stompin' all over the place.

What a great set list! I was so happy to see these guys in Boise last year....they'd come a couple years before that, but with opening bands, and a relatively tame hour long set. This last year, though, they finally played a show for Idaho on par with the epic concerts you can find online.

One of the last great Primus concerts (they're still pretty good now)- Tim doing what ONLY Tim can do, Les playing his Carl Thompson's instead of those thin sounding Jaguar-hybrid basses, Ler playing a humbucking PRS as opposed to the Fender single coils or Wide Ranges (his Fenders normally don't sound hot enough/ no bite, but seem okay here, probably his vintage gits), and they're playing the classics- the stuff that built Primus.

Im aware, i know his style very well as well as his drum kit.
He left Primus in 96 and was replaced by ''Brain'' until they had a break in 2000, Tim returned in 2003 to work on ''Animals should not act like people DvD and they toured with him until 2009.
    This video is from 2008.
    stop 1:00:52 it's clearly Tim.
Fatter and looking heavy but it's still him.
Check his hands on the double strokes and the way he doesn't move the upper body. Neither Brain or Lane play like that.
