It's been about 3-4 weeks that I've discovered this vid. Out of the 90k+ views, I must be responsible for at least 1k. I cannot stop listening to this goddamn show, in the morning, in the car going to work, at work, on the way home and at home. Primus deserves FAR more recognition than they've been getting over the last 25 years. Keep ripping that bass Les...we stand back in total awe... P.S. Jay Lane is a fucking boss.
It is impossible for me to not watch or listen to the entire show every time i open this. And i watch it a lot! Was lucky to stream it live the first nite. Thanks!
Primus, Primus.... Man They Rock!!! Saw 3 Primus shows so far, all at the same venue, with all 3 different drummers in 3 differents decades. 1999,2002,2011.
Was at this show. Visiting my best friend Brian Haines who was living in Fort Collins at the time. We drove up to Red Rocks for the show. Missed The Dead Kenny G's and sat through Gogal Bordello who were decent. Primus on the other hand...were the TIGHTEST band I've ever witnessed live. And, I've seen a ton of live music! Absolutely amazing!!! The venue was also just incredible...It was spectacular being inside of all the Red Rock beauty...I'll never forget the show or the venue.
Damn right Jay Lane's awesome. He's one of the better alternative drummers out there. The other drummers that've been with Primus over the years, Tim "Herb" Alexander and Brian "Brain" Mantia, were both extremely good, but Jay brings that little extra touch to Primus' sound that keeps them different from all the other alt-rock bands out there. His drumming on Green Naugahyde is second to none.
Les is a musical genus. Although many of his songs have simplistic lyrics, the musical talent portrayed in them is prodigious in its own right. NOBODY has a sound like Primus, and I really don't think there's anybody else out there that could pull it off as well as these guys.

2002 drummer of the year... Jay Lane, it's not for nothing that 10 years after he's still on the best drummer with Tim Herb Alexander. It was good to see Primus with that lineup in Brussels this year. Would like to see the 3D show.
The ? is "Over the Electric Grapevine." It's on the Tales from the Punchbowl record. Thanks for providing the rest of the times to find songs! Greatly appreciated.
haha yeah I want to spend the New Years with my family so gotta do the concert the day before. I went last year and saw them with the Residents too, was awesome.
These gentlemen are soon to be, if not already, an iconic symbol of modern American folk music. They are no less a voice to their generation than Woody Guthrie, or Bob Dylan were to theirs. May the universal supreme one always bless and show favor on Primus, F4or itD izz, way n f4evr! Love Out Loud lol lol lol

Don't forget their studio EP, "Miscellaneous Debris," released way back when...which might have contained their first released Floyd cover ever? Kick ass version of Floyd's "Have A Cigar" on there, among cover songs from other artists, including Peter Gabriel's "Intruder."
Nobody plays bass like that! Les, Billy Sheehan, Gene Simmons, and Paul McCartney are my favs. I know Gene is not that great, but he inspired me to play in the first place.
They have released multiple Floyd covers before, check out the les claypools flying frog brigade. "The band released two live recordings in 2001, Live Frogs Set 1 and Live Frogs Set 2. Set 1 is a mix of covers and originals, including "Thela Hun Ginjeet" (King Crimson) and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" (Pink Floyd). Set 2 is a live cover of the entire Pink Floyd album, Animals. "

dropped some blotter when I saw them with tool earlier this year...one of the best experiences I've ever had
TOOL at Red Rocks for back-to-back shows in June 2010 were phenomenal. Right up there with the 1998 Ænema tour & the Lateralus tour in 2001. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That's the only way to see primus
With Tool? OMG...might be overload?
Caught primus twice on tribute to kings tour, Tool in March Columbus Ohio. Seller last year for me concert wise!!
Primus as with TOOL, both fantastic and
Worth every dollar to see live. Red Rocks
Is #1 venue in the country.
2010 was an amazing summer at red rocks. we had rush twice, tool twice, and primus all in a 2 month span.
Damn dude ..... I bet that was awesome
Woah my friend that's cool
Was awesome for the people able to get Tool tickets. I swear, scoring tickets to Tool is like catching a leprechaun sometimes.

Absolutely, he's the #1 reason why I picked up a bass almost 22 years ago. I had no idea a bass could be played like that. He's a master, 100%

Jayski is awesome on the drum kit here. He makes that hi hat wish that it had never been born. I also like the tuning on the drums themselves.
this show was so worth the ticket I bought! great to be able to relive it thanks for the upload Brainphreak
That's a combo of awesomeness! Les Claypool playing Pink Floyd looking like a rock version of Mr. White with Slash's hat! Cool in all levels!
that's obviously not slash, that's tommy the cat in the hat
This is possibly the best live performance I've ever seen! Golden Boy sounds amazing.. Loving the covers too. Primus need to release a new live DVD.
Les is more.
Les is a Bass Beast Extraordinaire! Everything he does is absolutely incredible! PRIMUS ROCKS!!

Les, you are a bass GOD
One of my all-time favorite bands, Primus plays to the edge of reason -- then takes it a bit farther!
I actually was at this show and the third time seeing Primus at Red Rocks. Always freakin epic!
True originals, Great Stuff!!!!
Damn, what a show!
Thanks...I could not remember it when I made the list! So long since I'd heard it.
Amazing
And a Tom Waits cover... I am speechless. Every time I hear this band I get more and more respect for them - truly individual music.
Saw Primus on this tour, it was awesome.
THAT WAS EFFIN" EPIC!!! those dudes still have it!

I missed this show. So I took eleven bong hits, and watched this.
Over the Falls is Awesome 😮
This is real talent!!
Primus is the most beautiful misapplication of technology ever achieved
That is Eugene Hütz from Gogol Bordello, the majority of his band is also on stage as well. They're also an amazing act as well, highly recommended.
MARVELLOUS!!!!
It would be nuts if Les, Ryan bass from mudvayne, and flea play together. That I would be like a spice of heaven to me
this golden boy is legendary

Tom Waits cover, hell yeah!
Hell yeah! Great records. I still haven't given Zoot Allures my full attention. I'm going to have to listen to it more!
I love Primus, and this concert was spectacular. I know we all get older, but seeing Claypool wearing khaki pants kind of breaks my heart :)
It was GLORRRRIOUS!!!
OMG 47:00 Gogol Bordello and Primus playing Tom Waits. My life has been made complete.
That Groundhogs day just blew me away!!!!! and im still pissed at myself for not knowing this vid existed until now!! call myself a Primus fan? ;-D
Probably as many female fans here as there are at a Rush concert!
You mean both of them?
Stephen Perry I don't know, twice as many as usual might be asking a bit too much...
Or at your house.....0
Mark Tarr Why is that a bad thing?
Joe11Blue Not a bad thing, just fun to joke around with. The same way Rush does.
Gotta love Les's top hat!
Thanks :D.
THANKS FOR THE INFO
thx!! this needs to be a top comment.

Don't forget their studio EP, "Miscellaneous Debris," released way back when...which might have contained their first released Floyd cover ever? Kick ass version of Floyd's "Have A Cigar" on there, among cover songs from other artists, including Peter Gabriel's "Intruder."
holy shit. primus/les claypool doing pink floyd is one of my favorites. fuck yes.
