Griffith, thanks for sharing this great video. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow, which I believe most viewers appreciate. What sets your video apart is how you don't hide your mistakes. The hole drilled in the wrong place, the saw that falls down, the drill you couldn't find, oh and smacking your head on the table! I love that stuff. You're smart to keep it in. Nobody's perfect, except the editors. Cheers.
Gotta say, I love anything that expands the functionality of these little job saws. I know a lot of devout hobbyists give them flack for their limitations, but as more of a generalized maker rather than a devout woodworking enthusiast, these's a lot to be said for the space these little babies free up in my workshop.
I'm used to larger, corded routers ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
Love this, simple plan easy to modify to fit my personal needs. Just started woodworking full time so this will be perfect thank you. Gonna make one this week I'll send you pic of how it turns out.
Really good! Probably the only thing I would add is drawers to fill some of the empty air space under it and place all screws, bolts, jigs and whatever I have on it. I will soon buy my first table saw and Im looking at all kind of workbenches around to get some ideas, my space is not limited but its not safe so the bench I build has to be mobile so I can store it in a small shed I have (10' x 6' with a 48" wide door opening) to prevent lurking eyes to take away the table saw and miter saw.
haha. Just for clarification though, only the top was for the kitchen table. Those supports the top is sitting on was just something I threw together to use as a work bench.
Good video and great job on the bench, I''m finishing one that's similar. Minor critique to the video - next time try to angle the camera/bench closer to what you're showing off. I was interested in how/what you did underneath the bench but found it difficult to really take it all in since the camera was further away. You did a great job and obviously carefully planned your storage solutions, show it off. Thank you again for the video.
Thanks for the video. I love it and am also going to build something just like this. More pictures during construction or explanations probably would have been helpful. Like someone else said I am trying to guess at few things...how the underneath is built, how the casters are mounted and what you used for fasteners on the frame.
Hey man, I built something similar that ended up bowing pretty badly in the center to the point that it's not really usable anymore. Do you have any plans for this available? I'd like to replace my current setup with something more like this.
I like the idea, but I'm sure the table saw and router are dust nightmares for getting into the tools underneath. Did you ever put in a dust collection system for the router and saw?
I do have a hose permanently connected to the table saw that I can quickly hook up to my shop vac. But I honestly don't use the router enough to worry about it. I just wipe off the dust on the tools underneath when I'm getting them out to use.
I used a circular saw with a temporary fence clamped to the table top. I made sure I set the the circular saw blade deep enough to only cut through enough of the 2x6 side board to allow the table saw fence rails to move through. This allowed me to keep the structural integrity of the bottom half of the 2x6.
Very nice build.. What are the dimensions on it ? Never mind… after reading further down into the comments I see its a 4x8 so your top was in a full sized sheet and no cutting.. Nice..
I’m in the middle of a build just like this. What Model Dewalt table saw? How do u like it? I have my frame built but can’t decide on a table saw to finish the build. By the way that bench looks awesome!
Hey Todd! The table saw is a DEWALT DWE7480. It was a black friday special and it came with a stand that now I have no use for. So far the table saw has worked perfect, especially with being built into the bench. It's nice and sturdy. This was a fun build. I'm currently working on making a flip top section for my miter saw. So subscribe if you'd like and you won't miss that upcoming video. Thanks!
New subscriber based on this bench. Would you share the height? I get that it’s 4X8 but the height? I’ll do the math to account for the 3” casters and 3/4 top!! 😁🤣 so just the overall height?
Sorry, but I don't have any plans or materials list. I kind of winged it on this one and made it up as I went along. If I get some spare time soon, I may try to draw something up.
Nice job! Looks like a simple and effective work bench. I have the same space issue in my garage and need to build one similar to yours. What was your materials cost for this?
I didn't have anything on paper. I knew I wanted the top to be a full sheet size (4x8) so I started there and created it as I went along. If I get some free time soon, I'll try to put together the plans and cut list for it.

I like how this isn't as overthought as many of the others.

This is awesome! This solves so many problems for my workshop. I especially like your flip-top add-on for the miter saw.

So I'll have to copy now that I see you are a WV fan!!!
My home among the hills!
YO, my friend, are genius. Masterful. Simply masterful!
Did you ever make plans for this table? Would love to make one for myself.
Yes, please add cut list!
Griffith, imma need some schematics so I can build the exact table lol.
Thank you, ive been wanting to build this type of multi purpose table for my table saw and other tools. This is a perfect design.
AHAHAH!!! your first kitchen table is awesome))))))
haha. Just for clarification though, only the top was for the kitchen table. Those supports the top is sitting on was just something I threw together to use as a work bench.
Anyway you'd share your design and table saw info? I'm trying to make something very similar but stuck currently.
That's awesome. I need to make something like this for my shop as well.
Love it great job with this one.

Thanks for the video. What material did you use for the top?
Did you have plans for this bench
what are the dimensions?? attempting to make this now...
love the work thank you for sharing.
I made it to be the standard 4'x8' so i didn't have to cut the melamine top.
Nice work bench, do you have plans for that you should share?
Hey man, I built something similar that ended up bowing pretty badly in the center to the point that it's not really usable anymore. Do you have any plans for this available? I'd like to replace my current setup with something more like this.
Stupid question, mayhap, but those are 2x6s as the edges, yes?
yes it is.
Going to start mine next week just one thing what's the height?
what load ratings are the casters?
I think they were 175 or 200 lb capacity. You should go with whatever you think you'll need.
I must of missed it... what is the over all dimension of the table?
When did you install the casters, in the beginning or after it was completed?
1:13 shows casters at the beginning.
What tool did you use to cut that table saw rails that adjust so clean and straight?
I used a circular saw with a temporary fence clamped to the table top. I made sure I set the the circular saw blade deep enough to only cut through enough of the 2x6 side board to allow the table saw fence rails to move through. This allowed me to keep the structural integrity of the bottom half of the 2x6.

So where is the video of the actual bench build? That I cannot find...
I like it, I miss dimensions though
whats the size of the casters?
My table used 3 inch polyurethane casters, but you can you whatever you feel works best for you.
As you’ve had more time with your table would you change anything? I’m about to copy most of your bench. How tall is it?
Not much I would change, especially now that my miter saw is added in. Table is 36.6 inches tall.
Can you tell me the height of the table?
Mine is 36.5 inches from the floor, but you can make it any height you want.
@@griffithwoodworking6661 thank you.
Now it's time to sweep up that garage! 🤐
Does she ask you to sweep the garage? 😂
Been looking to make a bench like this, would you put a bench vise on it?
Lol. Same situation here. Wife lets me know about not being able to park in the garage. Awesome table. Do you have plans for this table?
I built a replica works great but you have to anchor the saw, the melamine is slippery. I also added a large power strip
What casters did you use? Halp! We want to make your table!
3 inch polyurethane, I think about 175 lb capacity.
Keen to know the dimensions,
table top of 4' x 8'. Height is 36.5 inches. But you can make it any size you want.

Nice job! Looks like a simple and effective work bench. I have the same space issue in my garage and need to build one similar to yours. What was your materials cost for this?
Thanks! I didn't keep exact track of the total materials cost, but it was under $100.
