Hi Greg and Dani. I've been enjoying these videos lately. It looks like you are making great progress! We are considering a self build ourselves in GA. If you don't mind me asking, which bank did you get your owner builder loan through? I'm working on compiling a list of banks that are owner-builder friendly. Thanks!

Of course! The bank we used is Dolores State Bank. It's a local bank so it only serves Southwest Colorado. We tried getting funding through the big name banks, but the local ones were more willing to work with us. Good luck on your build!

Here in Canada Regional District of Nanaimo I am $46,000 in government red tape and it was a 3 year fight for 1000sqft. This was just to permit stage we have not broken ground yet. We expect this cost of government red tape to double by the time we have occupancy. The bureaucracy will be pretty well 50% of the overall house build.

That makes me sick for you! I am happy my wife does our cost videos, I don't think I would be able to keep my politics out of them. The bureaucracy of government is the worst part of being a builder.
