I consumed so many of your videos while I couldn’t travel and you single handedly influenced me to travel to Mexico for the first time in 2022. I’ll be visiting for the third time this summer. I’m obsessed 😅 so thank you!
It's been a while since I looked, and WOW! You're at 136,000 subscribers! I am so proud of you. I look forward to your videos every week. I hope one day I can travel as much as you have. I am currently working on figuring out how I could work remotely doing jobs on the road and at least travel the US. But I hope to expand that and backpack as much as possible. You're an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your journey. I just started my channel. It's a weird eclectic group of videos while I find my direction at the moment, but I would love if people stopped by and had a look. Thank you so much for any time you spend there. I hope it provides a good laugh. I like to think that is my purpose. Much love!
We were really impressed about how you got in there and learned and mastered the Spanish language. Great job speaking in Spanish. Now, all of us viewers would like to go and visit Puerto Escondido and all of Mexico. Thank you.
2 years ago I stayed in an airbnb about a block and a half from the beach, and about 3 blocks north from central punta. Great little place with 3 beds, 2 loos, and 2 showers. I think I paid 65 CAD, so about 975 pesos per night. I found renting scooters and exploring was a good way to see the place, and as you know, there's lots to see!
I Remember that time at El Abor when the power kept going out.. we were doing Improv night in the back. Such a WildTime.. 14:11 and the Pho was so Good!!
I lived on La Punta, 2012 to 2014, this that you show is A WHOLE DIFERENT PLACE wow, now is super chic. When I used to live there it was just a couple of locals, Lychee, Frutas y Verduras Hostal, and Guadua. It was super quiet and not that party ambient, Zicatela was for party and La Punta to chill and reset. Now I feel old. Im 31 now and I was 22 back then.
@@BackpackingBananas hell yeah, great memories 🥰 specially that last sunset on new year’s eve, beach was great packed and the energy was so positive, had a great time 🤩

I was in Puerto Escondido 5 years ago and stayed in La Punta, but it was nothing like this! It's grown so much, it was tiny with 1 small hostel that was very very cheap! But even then it was my favourite spot :)
Ok, loved the video! I surfed that point in 1980! Get this. It was nothing but cow Pasteurs , open fields all the way including zicatella beach. We stayed on a farm at zicatella beach. Coming into summer if you are there the surf is going to get huge! Surfers from all over the world come here. It’s one of the best waves on the planet. The place I nearly drowned! Take videos! But stay out of the water, very dangerous. Love all the new healthy places to eat you are showing. Non of that was there. Mainland Mexico is very beautiful!

Love your content and was wondering if you could spare some advice. So I’m wanting to travel to tulum and see the pyramids and then head to oaxaca afterwards then to Guatemala and El Salvador. So my question is when buy my one way ticket to tulum should I go ahead and just buy a one way ticket to the other places or should I wait to get them in the airport in Mexico?
Honestly I haven’t got a clue. With current restrictions, I can’t see myself going anywhere soon! But I’ll deffo keep my eye on countries that are safe to travel once my passport is renewed
@Backpacking Bananas Would you recommend backpacking in Oaxaca or near Cancun / Tulum? Me and hubby are unsure because everyone goes to Tulum and Cancun it seems? Which region did you like more and which was more "real mexico"? Also, if we go for 3 to 4 weeks, is it worth it to visit La Punta and Tulum?
