The perfect example of humbleness, which affords respect. From a friend who actually met him, he was exactly like you see him on interviews. He treated everyone he met the same. Someone I would like to try and be more like.

Had the great honour, & privilege of meeting Mr Charlton Heston, & his beautiful wife, Lydia many times’, & they were the most ‘down to earth’ people I’ve ever met.
Beautiful souls’ who reflected goodness in all they did. RIP

That generation of actors is gone and never coming back. Shakespear, RADA, Broadway, and the West End is where and how they learned their skills. Today we seem to find our stars at the local shopping mall and they have problems with basic syntax.

Great actor, loved many of his films and what a voice. Bemusing that a man could go from the 1963 Civil Rights March on Washington, walking shoulder to shoulder with Martin Luther King, Harry Belafonte and company to being a supporter of both Nixon and Reagan. However, it is possible to seperate the man from the actor and I respect that he walked his own path...even if it did include being president and spokesperson of the NRA after campaigning for gun control earlier in his life. Complex being.
