    I'm so glad Phil was kind, appreciative and sensitive to Betty in this interview. He didn't manage that with some female stars and I think that greatly reduced loyalty people felt toward him. Anyway, here he was very kind and I am grateful for Betty's sake.

    Thank you so much for posting this show. I never saw this until now. Betty certainly did miraculously healing through the power of Jesus Christ. HE clearly guided me to see this as it is exactly what I need at this time, Spiritual Reinforcement. Phil Donahue's format and skillful interviewing really was the very best.

    I adored her in all her films. They , in Annie Get Your Gun , especially Howard Keel treated her like shit .. She was ostracized 😞. She was interviewed by Robert Osborne, who I was blessed to meet at the TCM film Festival in 2012
    She found God n Faith , god bless her . A phenomenal TALENT . 🙏🤩💗

    What did she mean when they asked about going back to her old dressing room and @9:10 and she said "oh no...that's where all the death happened. I dont wanna go back there" That was an odd thing to say...curious as to what she meant by that. I heard her and howard keel hated each other while they made "annie get your gun".

      David B the didn’t hate each other. Howard thought Betty was a sweet girl but all the co-stars didn’t like Betty and kept telling Howard that she was “out staging” him. But Betty and Howard didn’t hate each other

      But I did hear that they just didn’t get along very well, but that doesn’t mean that they weren’t nice to each other.

      Betty said in her interview with Robert Osborne,that the cast and crew were not nice to her because they wanted Judy Garland for the part. Judy was being difficult with the studio and was replaced in at least 3 movies at MGM. Annie being one of them. Hutton did a great job in the role. I've seen footage of Judy in a couple scenes and she didn't fit the part.

      I’ve read that many on that film set treated Betty rudely or snubbed her altogether because she was a replacement for the beloved Judy Garland who was fired from the movie.

      @@MIKEY1970MIKE1970 For ANNIE, Betty was on loan out to MGM from Paramount, a competing studio and MGM was not her studio nor did the crew feel welcoming to an outsider.

    Betty was spot on about the devolvement of movies. The irony is thats how i discovered her. Im sick of depressed depraved hollywood fodder so i go back to the oldies - i wasnt disappointed. Check out Dream Girl

      I am a big Betty Hutton fan. I have seen all 20 movies,not 30 like she said on this interview,that she made. I pretty much enjoyed them all. But Dream Girl was one of my least favorite. At the time it was not well recieved at the box office. Miracle of Morgans Creek,Incendiary Blond,Perils of Pauline and Annie get your Gun are probably my personal favorites.

    That did take a lot of courage never feeling loved wanting to do away with herself those husband's using her for her money then went to God and he healed her for repenting. Such a great survival story.

    Veronica lake killed her self?!?

    • @millana100
      @millana100 2 года назад

      I think she meant it as a metaphor, as in Veronica Lake returning to the industry killed her. Veronica died from liver problems as a result of all her drinking.
