I started Binge watching this recently because I loved both the movie and it’s sequel. Despite living in the United States, I’m a huge fan of British culture and not to mention that as a child Thomas the Tank Engine was my was of escapism whereas Downton Abbey captures that same spirit but joining that well into my adulthood and making new memories with loved ones still here as well as with new friends. The world can be a wonderful place. You just have to find it in the right places. Those right places? Take my advice, they are wherever you say they are.
I'm afraid you're a fan of English HISTORY. The real world is nothing like this now. That being said, I recommend giving Ivor the Engine a watch for some cosy Welsh stories.
Actually, that is relatively accurate of people in the lower ranks (lacking status), struggling to prove & climbing the ladder to establish themselves. You can see it in modern corporate culture as well.
@DrJoy - You’re right. The CEO is the modern day Lord Grantham. And the Board of Directors are the family, the employees are the servants. Nothing really changes.
@@lovethatformeSeeing Lady Sybill happy and giddy when she brokers the news to Gwen is bitter sweet, especially thinking of when Gwen returns to Downton Abbey in Season 6.
