I think every country, every break has those who claim to shred, talk big story etc. For every 1000 surfers, 990 of them just surf, consider themselves surfers and talk big talk but do you actually rip? no. You and i both know, most every surfer is average to below average. Difference between a place like CA compared to Aus, in my opinion, is that CA has SOOO many things to do, soo many sports, activities, and lifestyles that many people get involved in several things they like instead of countries where one sport dominates and everyone excels at that sport. CA is soo beautiful, weather is beautiful, soo many things to do that many people are involved in several activities, therefor average to below average surfers are common place and accepted, yet we still manage to produce world champs, tour surfers, pipe master champs etc. Come visit!
Man it wasn’t crowded at all for Rincon. The waves were so big and the lineup was constantly shifting, so the guys out there were really experienced and there was no time for a crowd to really form up.
