That wall at 9:55 was pretty epic. And 45:52....sweet mother. Great footage, what a day...The right to left rides (from surfers perspective) were satisfyingly long! And whoever those guys were at 15:38 and 57:45 should be considered for a ride of the year. Thanks, Tim. Special day for sure.
Living in Michigan, I'm surrounded by water but rarely get to see big waves unless it's October, November on Lake Superior, occasionally Lake Michigan. I hope to make out to the West Coast one day to see this in person, but until then, thank you for keeping that dream alive for me by sharing videos like this and Merry Christmas!!
You're not wrong, and the Eddie should be run at Jaws. Waimea pales in comparison... Shane Dorian and a bunch of others paddle into this with their eyes closed, get tubed and spat out (it's on video), while at Waimea they straighten out, ride the mush, or get buried by white water 9 times out of 10, and they call it epic...

amazing waves, great gear but slightly frustrating framing. It’s perpetually too low by about a fifth of the frame. It’s vital to see what’s coming out the back even to see the horizon to put perspective on the entire scenario. Sorry to be a bit hard on you.
also constructive criticism meant in pure kindness: turn your AF off and focus manually with a monitor. the AF is randomly misjudging things and take a bit to recover. at this distance, it's super unnecessary. beyond that, maybe invest in a better pan/tilt head for your tripod. also, get the "rocket" air pump and clean your sensor. it'll be worth it, and you're starting to blow up with coverage like this! in general; positive feedback, you did great.
@ thank you for all the tips! The mix of saltwater spray and dust from the mountain made the lens cleaning a full time job that day haha. Thanks for the other suggestions!
@@TimFisherMedia don’t worry I’ve made my mistakes worse than that. Shooting my younger two brothers at a contest over a whole weekend with my father‘s 800 Nikon and not one frame was exposed.

I am a big Jaws fan. I was impressed to see the EDDIESWELL video from a different angle. This angle is even bigger and more beautiful. But it's a pity. It's reported as if the Biggest award was decided by Mavericks, who are sure to break the world record. From now on, XXLAWARD is not interesting. And don't forget the pussies who use a gasoline powered jet ski so they can get towed into the perfect spot, and then they get towed out when the wave is over so they don't have to swim. That ruins it big time.
