    Agree with most of what’s said here, except I use the Turbo tuner, Extreme accuracy: ±.02 cents guaranteed, and the fastest response time in the business. The Peterson tuners are fast and accurate, but the turbo, is even more so.

      Everything that Chip said! I love my turbo tuner mini. You just can’t beat that response time if you need real time intonation feedback for things like violin or guitar bends. Also the display is perfectly readable in direct sunlight and with polarized sunglasses whereas the peterson strobostomp suffered slightly in those categories (but was better than others). I have also programmed my favorite “sweetened tunings” into my turbo tuner. Even still, the SS mini is very tempting. 😅

    Received mine this week and absolutely over the moon happy with it. I thought I was in tune before using another brand with a ‘strobe mode’ but the Peterson literally made my guitars sounds like new instruments- can’t believe how inspiring being truly in tune can be! Haha.
    One thing that doesn’t get mentioned is the buffer in these. It is absolutely gorgeous sounding. I use a coiled guitar cable, multiple effect pedals and patch cables and effect loop and this brought new life back to the signal. The others tuners I’ve used with buffers tended to compensate for high end loss, but the Peterson sounds like low end is also compensated for. It just makes the guitar sound more 3-dimensional. I don’t know how they did it but a wonderful and serious design.

      These tuners work really good but they're not true strobe tuners. They just have a display mode that looks like a strobe . There are no spinning discs inside of these units. So they are no different than other tuners that have strobe modes like you said previously

    • @TheRecordist

      Really? I can get it to almost completely stop, but strings are ringing and as such, they wobble a bit. Try using your thumb to pluck instead of a pick. Also try tuning to your 12th fret harmonics. It helps reduce the bouncy vibrations.

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  Год назад +1

      I have not yet played live with this but I find it very fast. The only thing that’s slow is the capacitor discharge relay that prevents any clicks and pops. Like one second delay when you switch back. I don’t find that to be an issue. But your needs may differ.

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  Год назад

      Yes. It does have the capacitor relay delay. That’s to stop any pops and clicks when doing anything-even unplugging and plugging it in while an amp is hot. It drains the capacitors of their charge before they cause the pop.

    Perfect video T800 👍👍Your format is really really great and I love it. Had to laugh again (like every time) at the measuring tape part. And it's really nice when you don't rush the information, like in the beginning of your video, but are chill when you inform us; the relaxing factor also comes through then.
    I like these tuners. I would have liked it if you were more specific about the differences, maybe with a little table. But off course I can study all three of your video's to come up with that information myself. I think I will go in time for the large HD one and buy an extra clip like you mentioned. I already thought about connecting a microphone myself, but that clip will probably be more convenient.
    But I guess that all the software and update features are exactly the same on these 2 tuners. Only the large one can take a battery and the very little one only works on those 3202 batteries which will not be my choice. I just want one tuner that is suitable for all kind of instruments.
    Thanks for taking all the effort! and cheers 😊

    • @TheRecordist
      @TheRecordist  Год назад

      Indeed. I struggled to find the differences other than size, battery, and top-mounted jacks. That’s it. It’s the same tuner as the StroboStomp HD but just smaller. Oh, and I think the mute-mode start-up is different, but that will come out on the HD with a firmware update.
      Yes. The clip will be perfect for acoustic instruments. I really love Peterson Tuners. I know it’s a boring thing, but I’ve gone through so many tuners in the last 30 years and I have never found a more precise and well-built tuner than Peterson. So my excitement, I’m sure, translates on screen.
      This should complete the Peterson series of small tuners. I’d like to turn my attention to the big ones in the future. But I’ll be back to mics and preamps and advice for the next bunch of vids.
      Thanks, as always, for watching!
