Great group. The team visited AOG church, must have been in the 1980's We loved them and they did a great work for the Kingdom of God. 👍

I saw Living Sound in I think 1980/1981 when I was 13 yrs old. It was in a big marquee at the Caravan & Campers Christian Fellowship national rally here in the UK - but I don’t recall where! I did buy the LP Living Sound and really loved the version of Why Should The Devil which led me to discover the music of Larry Norman who remains a hero of mine. I did love that concert and the friendliness of the band when they came off stage means the memory has stayed with me all these years. I knew nothing about the wider work of the band and have really enjoyed this video. Sending you all best wishes from Norwich, UK

if they are persecuted, why melodiya still issued those records? is it only after perestroika? or a historical mismatch present here?

MY THOUGHT: Perhaps Living Sound was one of the first glimmers of the perestroika candle. As I recall, Gorbachev and Pakhmutova were both appointed to the Supreme Soviet in 1979. Shortly after this, Aleksi Koslov and Time Machine were both permitted to perform publicly. Time Machine published "As Long As The Candle Burns" in 1980 about the same time as Living Sound was officially invited by Pakhmutova and appeared on the 1980 Olympic film that she helped produced. The circumstances got worse for Moscow musicians and groups after that, but those were some of the fits and starts of perestroika, it seems. Living Sound was certainly a Fifth Column for freedom.
