Hi Rubeauti very good video. I will be landing in Manila July 6 just in time for lunch. Many of the reasons you mention are why I am retiring there. I have been 3 times and only seen a very small portion of the Philippines so I am excited to get there to start my next adventure in life. Maybe I will even run into you somewhere in my travels. Looking so lovely as always. Keep smiling and stay safe.
Amazing stuff my friend. Take them to Baguio as what a nice place to get away from the heat and experience. My wife is from there. It will be a great place for those from the north places in USA.
Good luck! I was able to retire early in my 40s I bounce between the Philippines and Thailand. The Philippines is the best and the people are the nicest I have ever met.
I've never been to the Philippines, but I'm sure the prices at the Apple Store, if there is one, are much higher than they are here in the States. That's not a condemnation. That's just what I've observed from my Filipina. It's not a deal-breaker for me though. I'm still going to make the Philippines my retirement home. 😅
@@terryashley4674 Yes! True… I guess if you live in the Philippines full time (as your home) then a Apple Store in the Philippines is still very convenient even if prices may be higher then back in the states. You don’t have to fly back to the states or purchase from a 3’rd party. Does the Philippines, have BestBuy Store for Electronics?. 😊👍🏻
I'm in my mid-twenties so the thought of retirement is a long way from my current train of thought. With that being said the Philippines and Mexico are two locations that have been on my mind. I've been to Mexico a few times but haven't arrived in the Philippines yet. Later on, this year I'll be able to pop that cherry!
Thanks for the super great video. I Love the Philippines and have been going there for 8 years. Providence life is for me... Samar.. Ya'll are so sweet compared to other places in the world. Thank you......❤❤❤❤
I just returned from 3 weeks in Manila and can say that the people are very nice. My favorite thing was seeing my fiance and her daughter. Some things I especially liked were the courteous and friendly people, attending Victory Church, the tasty fresh foods, uptown BGC area, the market, and the security that was present everywhere. Bohn Chon and Andokes were a few favorite places I liked to eat and my most favorite desert was the egg tart from Lord Stow's bakery. I wish we had security like the Phillipines in the states. Lord knows we could use it. I also wish I could buy egg tarts here. Really! You have to try them. The only negative thing I experienced, but was only a few times, were taxis trying to overcharge because I was American. My fiance was upset a few times with taxi drivers doing that, but like I said, it wasn't every taxi driver. Some were most excellant and represented the Phillipines very well. The culture of respect, valuing marriage and family, Christianity, and a general sense of pride in doing things well were and are most attractive to me.
Hi Rubeauti. A nice list of good things about the Philippines. Your presentation was very well done. And your outfit looks great also. Well done. Keep up the good work and always remember to take a few minutes for yourself. Be safe.
one of the best places to retire.. if you can afford it.. the people are wonderful .. if you have a problem,, they will help you.. been to a lot of the islands.. the people are different but the same.. always happy, smiling and willing to help..
I was in the Navy and getting ready to go WestPac (back when the US had a base in Subic). We were doing a onload for the freezer myself and three Filipinos, I'm from Maine. They came in with winter jackets gloves and hats and were shivering huddling up to one another because of the cold, we were working in the freezer that stays at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, I was in my regular work uniform. A half hour later I was down to a t-shirt because of sweating and had ice in my hair, they were still together huddling for warmth, I knew that to keep warm you have to move and did pretty much the entire onload myself but I was okay with that, I did feel sorry for them though. That's what happens when you live in a climate where three months of the year it rarely gets above freezing.
Wow you paint a real seduction to retire in Philippines. I was stationed there when I was in the navy. I fell in love with the Philippines and with Filipina. What a great time. First time away from home living and enjoying the Philippines. I still go back as often as I can. I have relatives there who are very close. If someone wants to retire there I would say good choice. Just make sure you have enough money. Enjoy and accept the people and the country. Don’t try to make it like where you came from. Great video
Love your channel. Very informative. Your delivery is easy to understand. I plan to visit later this year, with my friends that are from the Bacolod area.
Good information for me, will go there in october for at least 4 months to see how it is, start in Manila maybe one week then i dont know but open to much🙂
its hard to adjust here for a westerner. lots of paperwork to fill out paperwork. customer service is very poor, especially in restaurants. Driving is difficult and crazy, even dangerous. Hotels may not have hot water at all. However, if you adjust to that - it's a beautiful place to live - just need time to adjust.
I received an SRRV retirement visa in 2015…best thing I ever did. I live in Panglao, Bohol….I have the best friends ever there…I love it in so many ways. Rubeauti are you still single?
I am like you, I hate the cold, as far as I am concerned going somewhere with snow is only fir a holiday, not to live there, where I live here in Australia it is too cold, but it is no where near cold enough for snow
My goal retiring in the PI is to live a DRAMA FREE life. I've watched 100's of expat video's and one thing stood out. The retired expats especially with large age gap who became seriously involved with a young PI women ended up with boat loads of DRAMA. My goal is to avoid any serious female relationships. Casual dating relationships are just fine BUT, if you move a girl into your residence you are asking for drama. I'm just getting to damn old to put up with ANY drama. I'm looking for a quiet peaceful life style in the PI until the end comes and I move from this life to eternity.
I was this close to retiring in The Philippines but now I have decided to retire in Portugal instead, only because of the new law that clearly states that if a Filipina as much as even tells the police that you mistreated her or tried to abuse her or fought with her or tried to cheat her, they (the police) will immediately arrest you and the judge will give you a lengthy jail time. Yes! This is the new law in Philippines. There is no appeal whatsoever. So, by virtue of this new rule, you are basically at the mercy of a Filipina - be it your wife, your girlfried or just a hooker. Be very very careful of Filipinas, guys. If you want to have a peaceful retiment, do some research on Google. Two excellent options (far better than The Philippines) are Portugal and Thailand. Both these amazing countries have stable electricity, stabe internet, low crime rate and awesome weather, delicious cuisine and low monthly expenditure. Portugal is particularly attractive because you are suddenly at a stone's throw from all the beautiful European countires. Thailand has amazing beaches and the cuisine is just too good. The Thai people are very polite and respectful. Make an informed decision. Be wise.
@@steveperyer4850 Thanks for mentioning older Filipina. I'm close to your age and agree with you. Older Filipina are a far better choice then some young girl who has zero life experience. Personally I'm done with any serious relationships with women of any age. But that's just me after a failed 22 year marriage. I have zero desire to have a live-in women. I enjoy my freedom to do as I please without the input of a live-in partner. BUT I do wish you all the best as you've made the best choice to make you happy. We both have limited time left and must do what makes us happy. My brother-in-law just passed away at age 68. It was a real shock and reminded me to do whatever makes me happy and fulfilled.
@@allahkimakichoot Portugal is a beautiful country BUT my meager retirement budget prevents me from living there. Thailand was my first choice UNTIL they changed expat rules. Definitely not as expat friendly as they were over 3 years ago. Can you post this new law so I can bring it to my attorney's attention. One thing about the PI is sometimes they enforce laws on the books and sometimes they don't. I've watched many men on Raffy Tulfo channel where Filipina accuse them of abuse BUT they aren't in JAIL.
We will be coming back from Vancouver Canada to our beautiful city of San Fernando, Pampanga permanently this October. After spending January and February there this past winter I love the place.

I'm thankful to be retired and living in the Philippines especially during these bad times happening all through the world. I live a simple life here in the Philippines with very few expenses and survive easily on my monthly retirement. I use solar on my house and also have a vegetable garden to help keep expenses lower.
@@marclapinff2709 I'm single, I spend $600 per month. I don't penny pinch. I have a nice two bedroom apt, $150/ month. I bought a small motor cycle for $1500. I drive all over because I'm an outdoor type. I shop at the market and make much of my own food. I'm kind of a amateur chef. At times, when I have a gf, she cost about an extra $200/month to keep. Not much of a drinker. I have fiber broadband and cell. I live full life. Recently I drove out to Barcelona fishing village and hung out with the locals at a Sari Sari store drinking a beer. In a few weeks, I'll go back and rent a cottage on the water and chill by my self. I'm an introvert, so I'm good with my own company and my Kindle or I might consider bringing a date. Usually most women get in my way and can't hang with me, so I usually plan alone.
It's not $10K USD dear, it's $20K USD that you have to deposit in Philippine bank as part of SSRV. It's only a $10K USD deposit if you choose the tier that involves making an investment (either purchasing a condo or entering into a long term lease agreement for a home and lot having a >$50K USD value). If you want to just retire in the Philippines without having to buy a condo or make such an early commitment to a lease, you have to plop down a cool $20K USD. There are also initial fees involved, costing around $2K USD, and every two years you have to re-up your registration at a cost of just under $400 USD.
If you have a Pension that's paid into a Bank Account, like from the UK, converted into Peso in the UK and you withdraw Peso each month, the Bank takes out "Withholding Tax" every few months, so you pay a Tax and of course a VAT of 12% on much of what you buy or eat too and a 12% VAT on your Electric Bill and Internet Bill too. Thanks.
Hello Rubeauti You did a great job of promoting your Country :) I have travelled all over the Philippines and its all just beautiful , but I do love the area around Vigan City I love the very old style even going North of there to Locos Norte places like Laoag City and Pagudpud there is so much to see and the prices are a lot cheaper if people are on a lower budget. I've already been to Luzon( lived there for 4 years) . I'd like to see Visayas and Mindanao. I'm hoping my pension will be enough to live and base somewhere, and possibly take monthly trips to other areas.
I was in Alaska for 3 years and North Dakota for 4 where it gets down to 40-60 BELOW 0 and yes TONS of snow. I would be interested in retiring in a place that's more provincial, with a city somewhat close by, maybe 30 minutes drive away for more shopping opportunities, a non-touristy place with as few foreigners as possible. I've been around foreigners all my life, going there would be for a change, and how am I going to learn about the people and culture if I'm just around foreigners that I've always been around. Hopefully lucky enough to find that one special angel to settle down, relax, enjoy the little things in life, and make memories together. If someone is on a pension already or barely getting by in their own country, the likelihood they have an extra $10,000 (Is it actually $10K DOLLARS or Pesos?) laying around to deposit into a bank there isn't very high, and from what I've heard, they can't withdraw the money ever, even after getting a permanent Visa.
Hi I just watched one of your videos it was very good. I loved what you had to say, I’m from the United States. And plan on getting my 13A Visa to move there permanently. I plan on moving and hoping to marry a pretty Filipino woman. I love the Philippines I love everything about the Philippines. But there are many bad things about the Philippines also. There are so many single Filipino women with children and married Filipino women because their Filipino boyfriend or husband has left them. So many stories. I have also noticed that a Filipino woman if they marry an older man can be so ridiculed and pretty much mentally tortured by her own relatives in her family.!! Being called a Golddigger, and many other things from her own family. That is kind of sad.. is it wrong for a Filipino woman to want happiness and love even if the man is older.!! I personally could easily marry a woman with children. I love children, I am a single parent and I have a 12-year-old daughter and a 14 year old son and I am a man and I take care of them myself.. I guess my point is no matter what culture you will always find differences, I have not been to the Philippines yet but it is my dream to come. I am learning to speak Tagalog and Basaya.. and truly Filipino people are wonderful beautiful people but you will find bad and good everywhere and I think the only thing that I have discovered is how bad a Filipino can be treated from her own family…

Things are changing. Middle class is slowly eroded all around. People have less and less money to carry to retirement. Maybe it is a good thing for Philippines because what could mean a decent life in the Philippines, is a struggle at the edge of poverty in the west. Million dollars is just pocket money soon enough.
well said, Tero... that's why I stopped swimming against the western current and just said F* it. Work your a$$ off for 30 years to just to have ONE health crisis and your retirement is gone. NOT playing the game anymore. I love it here... the quality of my life is more important than the quantity.

@@christopherhouse7937 I've never been to the Philippines before, but I doubt if there is a Best Buy there.
There is no killing and lawlessness ln the Philippines as it is in Mexico. That alone is enough reason to eliminate Mexico as an option for me.
Go to Thailand at least once
Put back 10% of your paycheck every single week & NEVER TOUCH IT. MORE IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT
Thanks for the super great video.
Great video

its hard to adjust here for a westerner. lots of paperwork to fill out paperwork. customer service is very poor, especially in restaurants. Driving is difficult and crazy, even dangerous. Hotels may not have hot water at all. However, if you adjust to that - it's a beautiful place to live - just need time to adjust.
Good presentation 👍 I still might retire there! Wish it wasn’t so hot and humid though
it is now Mike ugh. even after a strong rain, its so humid
I received an SRRV retirement visa in 2015…best thing I ever did. I live in Panglao, Bohol….I have the best friends ever there…I love it in so many ways. Rubeauti are you still single?
Thank you for posting Rebeauti. You answered a lot of my questions

Good info 👍 ty can't wait to get there . Beautiful as always
I am like you, I hate the cold, as far as I am concerned going somewhere with snow is only fir a holiday, not to live there, where I live here in Australia it is too cold, but it is no where near cold enough for snow
See Critter Hunter if you want to dive around Manila . And remember to always breathe while underwater diving.

A quiet, peaceful life without drama is my goal as well. That'll come right after I check off Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat off the bucket list.
That is why I am going to be with my older Filipina. I am 67, she is 59, and never had children. Lives in the province, in Guihulngan
After spending January and February there this past winter I love the place.
i heard your new government is going back to English,.. i think its great.. English is spoken all over the world in one form or another.. hopping it makes its way down to Mindanao..
I'm thankful to be retired and living in the Philippines especially during these bad times happening all through the world. I see videos come up on RUclips how times are getting very bad and expensive in the USA. I live a simple life here in the Philippines with very few expenses and survive easily on my monthly retirement. I use solar on my house and also have a vegetable garden to help keep expenses lower.
I’m really happy you made in the Philippines 🇵🇭 please can you tell us your roughly monthly expenses? Thanks
Yes Filipino women are kind ,beautiful clean and will help you.
Thank you, for giving us your thoughts and background, Rebeauti :)
Thanks.
A retirement community here in KS is $3200+month!!!

So true and why I have lived here 15 yrs.

My dream life will be a beach 🏝 house 🏡 and when I want a cooler day ,, have a rest place in the mountains 🏔 for cooler weather ,,,
Thank you for the video. I like your outfit, it suits you well.
My friend has a girlfriend there he met online and she is very nice to him and gas good advice on anything they talk about together.

Nice video. What Island provides the best hiking opportunity?
Rubeauti- That's a cute outfit you're wearing in this video. 🙂

Marry someone around 20 years difference- at least 8-9-10 that does not gossip-not insanely jealous-does not look at her phone more than she looks at you-make sure have a state or federal pension for life and leave her something before you die

To me, lucky to be born and live in the USA, we had no view of others as 'foreign'. Here, I too often see/experience racist ignorance.
Hmmm interesting - i need to find out how much tax the Government would charge if i buy condos and rent them out as a source of income and if they would class that as a 'regular' income to look at an SRRV in the future, I didn’t know that was also a requirement. Thanks, good video (there’s always a catch...lol).
Foreigners can’t own property. You would have to have someone you trust buy it, like a Filipina wife
You need to contact the BIR
Have you done a video with Palawan in it ?
I'm a little confused on Entry and the time that Customs allows foreigners to stay there; from what I've read, 7 days is the minimum and 59 days is the maximum. So, seems better to leave your return ticket date open? Also heard that some people leave on a short destination like Taiwan or Vietnam and then re-enter. Not sure of this. Also not sure of current travel restrictions to enter the Philippines, seems to change a lot?
You are so beautiful and have great insights. Thank you for your vlogs and beautiful heart.
