  • Tap this chart daily to build the brain pathways for connecting the letter sound to its shape. Tapping the chart works well for all kids and is the secret sauce for struggling readers. It's easy to do at home and pairs with any curriculum. Classroom teachers are using it seeing enormous gains on their i-Ready scores in just half a year.     After you tap the chart call & response for a week or more and the child seems to have all of the correct sounds, go the video 1st Chart - All Together. The next step is to have the child just tap the chart straight through. After they can do that with ease and want another challenge, tap the chart from the bottom to the top (out of order).

    Find more charts with things like vowel teams, consonant blends, H-brothers, ending syllable types like -tion, -sion, -ture and more at brainfriendlyreading.org/shop. A completed set of charts starting with a special chart for PreK/K is only $6.
