What a wonderful collection of memories. I have one permanent record which was filmed by me on standard 8 film while my dad drove us along Sandy Lane in the Hillman Husky during the big freeze of 1963. The snow was piled 8ft high on either side of the road.

Thanks so much for these wonderful then and now pics, absolutely fantastic, I spent much of my childhood in St Pauls Cray and a lot of my adult life in St Mary Cray. These brought back so many memories, so well done!

At 5:10, The old WW1 Queen Mary Hospital site, as here, was down the road from the 'now' newbuild. I knew it well. The area is now barely noticeable. My girlfriend Ann worked there in late 60s/early 70s. Wonderful memories.

Brought up in the Crays during the 1950's/60's. We didn't have much but as a kid I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I still remember the sense of camaraderie and troubles shared with neighbours. Went back for a visit recently and couldn't believe it; a traffic nightmare and swarthy foreign types everywhere. What on earth happened to our world?

The London County Council estate, born and bred on it. Great video of how this area has changed from Kent in to a South London suburb. Doesn't resemble Kent at all anymore except for a few odd buildings. Very sad but that's progress they say.
