    IS 875 Part 1 --> Dead Loads
    IS 875 Part 2 --> Imposed Loads
    IS 875 Part 3 --> Wind Loads
    IS 875 Part 4 --> Snow Loads
    IS 1893 --> Earthquake loads

      Dead load includes the self weight of the structure itself, imposed loads are the loads put over the structure.

      Live load.

    Hi sir..can u pls tell me the difference between bending and deflection?.....by the way u r a blessed teacher and the best one i ever know...thanku...pls reply to my doubt

      We can say that if there is bending in a structure, there will be deflection, but we cannot say that if there is a deflection there definitely will be bending, because deflection is a general term and it can be caused by various types of stresses and forces, for example even axial forces can cause deflection. Now coming to understanding bending and deflection, a structure is said to bend when there is a radius of curvature formed for the structure, where as deflection is defined as translational or rotational displacement only at a particular point of interest (point where it is to be found).

    RCC design can sometimes fail practically, due to cracking
    Steel structure may fail due to buckling in practical lives as Indian climate salt water environment can not withstand iron and form rust and low strength
