Yep! My daughter got more than 5 years for a drug charge. Crazy! Absolutely no violence and she was the only victim. Victim of addiction. She's long since been clean.

I think time served should only be for misdemeanors, not felony murder.

That wasn't the problem here. That plea deal was absurdly generous. They would have convicted them at trial.
But it appears the legal system is poorly funded and Americans hate paying tax so get used to plea deals like this.

The U.S. seems to have dropped physical requirements for officers. I've seen cops that are too fat and cops that are too small. It's not like that in my country. If you can't chase a suspect or you get overpowered by elderly people, I don't know what the point is. I guess the U.S. is having trouble with recruitment. Anyway, if there are cops in such poor shape, I can imagine that private cops may have even lower standards.
Well they weren't police officers, they were security officers and alot of security jobs hire anyone, from rainbow haired people to overweight people

This was private security, so there are no physical requirements, they'll hire physically and/or mentally disabled elderly people, pay them $8/hr and that's about it.
The guards likely underestimated them b/c of all they grey hair, thinking they're harmless old geezers. Wish I could see how they physically overpowered them. They must have been shocked. I'll bet this case prompted some security changes.

Call me naive, I alllmost had a skeptical consideration of Susan's remorse, until she trotted out 'I had no choice' and 'It was the drugs', plus her anger during the victim's statement. Nope.

It's a perfectly legitimate way to refer to the situation. He could have fathered children that he's unaware of. Some women, when they find out they're pregnant, run and want nothing to do with a relationship or the father. He may have been completely unaware of any potential children that he fathered. This was the most accurate way to state the situation and maintain his dignity.

It was a private company, companies have to constantly jump through extra hoops and pay extra fees and have extra training and certifications if they want to arm their employees...

Amazing had 1 person can have such a hold over another that they’d do anything to stay alive I get that she betrayed her friend & got involved in his murder etc however surely she could have gotten away from her husband before all of this happened, before she got too involved

I think they should’ve been sentenced to life without parole because the intent was there.

She appeared to be using substances too, but she kind of denied it in the letter to daughter. Blane did make an excuse for his terrible crime when talking to Frank's brother, "ya know, the drugs."

That was an underwhelming arrest! The dude was slowly walking out to them with his hands up and at least 10 lawmen swarmed him. Absolutely ridiculous just for bragging rights to say they took down a wanted, dangerous murderer. And transporting murderers or any violent crinkles ACROSS THE COUNTRY YOU FLY THEM NOT DRIVE THEM. And the sentences were so light that it’s a joke. Susan should have gotten 10 years and her POS husband 30 at least.
