My daughter is 6. She was being bullied by this girl who constantly tells her she's ugly. I told her to say "ok." And walk away. It worked lol. Then she started up again and I told her "next time she says you're ugly, start sniffing the air, make a cringe face, sniff towards her and say "omg, is that your breath?", cover your nose, cringe your face and walk away." It's been a year and the girl doesn't even speak to her anymore 😂

I did that when I was around 10. One of the boys that liked to bully decided it was a good idea to try to target me by calling me fat. I deadpanned with "Yes, I know. And?" The look of confusion on his face was priceless.

Yep, most of my bullies got bored with me because I agreed with them. Which was really easy when 98% of what they said was true, just said rudely. Like oh, you're mocking me for the stupid mistake I made in class? Well, it was stupid so why would I disagree? School bullies were a joke, I'd been trained by bullies with much more experience. Unfortunately that would be my parents.

I have to take abuse awareness to volunteer with youth. An adult insisting that a child is “evil” or “satanic” is a sign of abuse we’re taught to look for. That Grandmother was emotionally abusing her grandchild & the mother was enabling it. It was vicious, cruel and the true evil in the story.

Destruction of personal property is another a sign of abuse, whether in familial or romantic relationships. Things the person loves are targeted because they cause the most pain. If the destruction is done in front of the person, it’s also an implied threat, as in “this is what I want/will do to you.” In either case it’s essentially physical abuse by proxy, a symbolic destruction of the individual themself.

My daughter always says, if I can't fix it in 15 minutes don't tell me, ie: food in her teeth, smudge on her face or a change of clothes before we leave...telling someone they need to lose weight or get a tan or not wear that color when they can't change, just gives them something to worry about. Super crappy

I like having curves. So telling me it's great that I'm losing some pounds just pisses me off. I happen to also be Caucasian and I can't tell you the number of times my Caucasian family tell me to "get some sun". I like being white thank you very much. In fact, I'd prefer it if I were more pale. And, I'd tell them that, and they'd scoff or brush me off. Or tell me that I need clothing other than all black and dark colors. I happen to be a punk rock/goth/emo tribrid. I'm happy being different, and I wish my family would stop with trying to "convert" me. It also doesn't help that my family votes for Trump, other than my one awesome cousin. And I'm trans non-binary. I deal with a lot of bs. It's ridiculous.

When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I were in line at the market. I was REALLY pregnant, like unmistakably pregnant. There was a woman ahead of us who noticed me and squealed, “When are you due?” While reaching for my stomach. I looked her in the eye and said, “I’m not pregnant. It’s a tumor.” The woman was HORRIFIED. All of her groceries were already on the belt so she was stuck there. Once she was gone, my husband burst into laughter and asked me why. I said I was tired of being fondled by strangers. I’m POSITIVE she never did that again.

It’s always so weird when someone tries to touch the belly of a pregnant stranger. I can understand starting a conversation abt when someone is due. Even with that you never know if someone is pregnant or not so that question also could be bad. Someone might have a tumor or they could just look pregnant without actually being pregnant. Touching a pregnant belly without asking is so weird bc most the time they don’t want a random stranger touching their pregnant belly. If someone does want to touch the pregnant belly they should ask and respect whatever the answer is even if the answer is no

When I was in high school, I was SUPER short. Between the latter part of year 11 through year 12, i grew by almost 30cm. In year 10, though, i was barely breaking 120. My bully was a year older than me (same grade, though) and was the athletic type, 2 meters, muscles, all that. He always had other assholes with him, of course. One day, i had had ENOUGH and i put my fists up. He was cocky and said i could have one swing before he kicked my ass. I was too mad to stop, so i took a wild swing as high as i could reach, aiming for his jaw... And I missed... Barely...
And hit him right in the throat with all the tiny nerd rage my Chihuahua-esque body could summon. He instantly dropped to his knees, vomited, and wheezed for air. His whole posse backed up and wanted no part of the vicious little maniac that just dropped the biggest jock in school with one swing. The next day he apologized awkwardly for bullying me because apparently his mom told him that he got what he deserved. 😂 We actually ended up becoming really good friends because he was curious how i got so good at fighting (his dad was abusive, go figure) and I helped him study and get better grades. I did have to admit that it was a total accident, but he was cool with that. He took it as a wakeup call that he was being an asshole.

And here's my "traumatize them back" story - I was out with friends, most of whom are gay (I'm a straight cis woman). My 2 female friends (who are a couple) & I stepped outside to wait on the guys, who went to the men's room before we were to leave. A large group of frat bros walked by & preceded to catcall us, getting more disgusting in their comments & surrounding us to keep us from leaving. About this time, our male friends came out & seeing what the frat bros were doing, told them to leave us alone. They were like, "Sorry, didn't know they were yours". My male friends said "We're gay & they are not "ours", you just shouldn't speak to them that way." Frat bros yelled a few gay slurs as they ambled away. Then my friend Thomas, entered the scene. Thomas is 6'5, had played football & rugby at university & is so ripped, I'm pretty sure even his muscles have muscles. He is also very proudly gay & was wearing an "Out & Proud" t-shirt. He had overheard the entire thing & proceeded to follow the guys down the street, saying all the disgusting things to them that they had said to us. They kept walking faster & faster, with Thomas jogging behind them, catcalling & all of us following him, enjoying the show. By the time they were at the end of the block, frat bros were sprinting like they were running the 100-yard dash for Olympic gold. Thomas finally let them run away, yelling after them, "Remember this the next time you feel like harassing random women". Not all heroes wear capes, some of them wear "Out & Proud" t-shirts.

      @falleithani5411 5 месяцев назад +121

This is 100% accurate, but it's worth noting that the reason these rules get implemented in the first place is that all the other rulesets have serious flaws as well:
'No punishments for anyone' is pretty obviously flawed.
'Those who started it are punished' very quickly results in all fights having as few witnesses as possible, so each side can claim the other started it. This effectively just turns into 'the less popular kids in a fight get punished', which is a very nasty standard to set.
'The least hurt kids in a fight get punished' is probably one of the better options, as it at least creates a strong deterrence against more-excessive levels of carnage, but it also makes kids very, _very_ good at the art at inflicting maximum pain with minimum evidence. And once that happens, all fights thereafter basically get treated as 'the kids who are least good at screaming and turning on the waterworks get punished', which is obviously not ideal.
      The real issues are that:
      A. Trying to address conflicts _after_ they escalate to violence is always the wrong approach. It's important to take notice and take action _before_ that.
      B. Proper supervision is very very important. Large class sizes and low school budgets mean there's just not enough resources for teachers to actually protect the children under their care from each other.
      C. It's high time we actually recognized that schools should teach life skills of all sorts, not just 'job skills'. Most adults today have thousands of hours of training and practice at math and linguistics and such, but their skills and knowledge for deescalation, conflict resolution, and how to build healthy and lasting relationships from scratch, are all barely above toddler-level. In some cases, what they've 'learned' about relationships and conflict resolution is so wrong and bad that it's _actively worse_ than knowing nothing at all.

The TSA one hits close to home. I'm a type 1 diabetic that's fully geared up. Dexcoms, my insulin pump, EVERYTHING. Now, my dexcom transmitters can't go through the little scanner belt thing because it'll ruin them, so we put them in a medical bag with all my other stuff like pump insets, insulin, syringes and needles, etc. and they have to swab every single item. They've made me open sealed packs of dexcoms so they could swab each sensor gun individually. I can't go through the full-body scanners for a similar reason, but it'll also crash my insulin pump which is literally the most deadly thing you can do to a diabetic. Unfortunately, my pump also has metal in it, which means I beep every time I go through the metal detectors and the only other option is a full-body patdown.
The worst TSA experience was when I was flying back to school over winter break (January 2024). I was with my very confrontational and aggressive (and tall) brother, luckily, because my social anxiety would've just let them ruin thousands of dollars worth of life-saving equipment that I simply can't get at school right now. Naturally, I beeped going through the metal detector, which is natural. I show them my insulin pump and they ask of it's attached to me.... Yes??? I don't magically teleport the insulin into my body otherwise I literally wouldn't need it. This was AFTER the TSA lady continued to try to force my medical bag into the conveyor belt after my brother repeatedly said that it can't go through and that he would sue if she continued to try it (he's planning to go to law school next year so...) which made her run off and not come back. The next guy was more accommodating, but it held up the line a ton because I'm here for 4+ months and need my stuff every day. They didn't have a woman that could pat me down despite me literally talking to 3 different women in TSA. Eventually I said fuck it, gave them my pump, told them to swab it quickly or the entire TSA would smell like insulin (I don't smell it anymore, but I hear it smells bad). They took too long, insulin started being pumped out due to my hourly basal, and they got pissed at me when they were standing there for like 20 minutes carefully swabbing it. This pump has been smacked against wood and metal, has been accidentally brought into water, has been dropped multiple times after ripping the inset out, etc. and they're worried a tiny swab would make it explode or something. This was a 40 minute ordeal of just me standing around and them swabbing my pump. Finally, I make it through to the other side of the metal detector and they're STILL swabbing my medical supplies. They even made me uncap one of the vials of insulin to make sure it was insulin. For context, they're snapped off, so you literally can't reseal them when they're opened. Unfortunately, I didn't have TSA pre check or Nexus as my previous pre checks were due to my parents and that I was a minor. I'm currently in the very long wait to get Nexus, which includes TSA pre, but it's taking a while. There were people waiting for their own stuff to be swabbed and even they said it was rediculous that they had to swab literally every little thing. They had me open one of my syringes so that I could prove that the insulin was in fact insulin... My brother blatantly said "This is insane. It's medical. [He's] 18. You think [he'll] be bringing a bomb on the plane when he literally failed Chemistry?" and the people waiting said "What a rediculous system. This is life saving equipment that you need a prescription for just to get. Not only that, but it's thousands upon thousands of dollars. No druggie or terrorist has that kind of money, patience, or ANYTHING to warrant faking diabetes to bomb a plane." A full fucking hour of waiting at TSA, holding up the line (which the other people were pissed at TSA, not us), and eventually my brother talking to the TSA manager who said this is "normal" (I've been diabetic for 7 years and we've never had this happen... wven when flying in the same airport). We're lucky we got there painfully early otherwise we probably would've missed our flight, which was literally the day before my brother had to go back to school.

Picture it. Elementary school in Montana. 1998. Me, AMAB 11 year old student, gets jumped by 3 older, larger boys. When I say I was jumped, it was multiple times, and a jungle gym was involved. Anyway, I got in trouble, because the school principal had a zero tolerance policy very similar to what was described in this video. She said I must have INSTIGATED the beating, and she apparently couldn't see from her office 15 feet away with the blinds and window wide open with essentially a ringside seat for this.
My mom gets called. I'm an absolute mess, and my principal is telling my mother that she wants to punish ME by making me be BEST FRIENDS with the boys that nearly unalived me and walk to school with them EVERY DAY for a YEAR.
My mother had had enough. She stood up to her full height, all 5 feet 0 inches of her, and without yelling or swearing, yet clearly enunciating every word, asks her how she would feel if she was r**ed, and at the trial, the judge ordered her to be BEST FRIENDS with the person who r**ed her, and walk to work with them every day. Then My mom said "Can you guarantee my child's safety in this school? Can you guarantee that they won't be harmed again or potentially unalived?" The principal waffled a bit, but finally said no. My mom said "Fine. I can." and she pulled me out of school.

I went to my school principle like I was taught and was basically told I was too young to know what really happened. My mom found out and was PISSED, apparently she caused such a scene that the principle (rightfully) lost his job. I have a lot of issues with my mom for a lot of reasons but I'll never forget that

This dude wouldn’t let go of calling me my dead name, I’d always ignore it (though I couldn’t help but flinch) but one day I was having a terrible day, and I was ready to go home, we were at bus circle and ofc, he took the time out of his day to say “hey [deadname]” the exact words I replied with were “you call me that again and you won’t have kids and your balls will have to descend again, call me dylan, or call me nothing,” could have been better, but pretty good for a first try

It's odd that so many people think that they are intitled to being able to decide if they think someone is "disabled enough". It harms people inside of the community too, even without someone asking them directly, because it causes many people to stop themselves from using resources they need because they think they aren't struggling enough to use the resources and that tohers might have it worse. The idea that marginalized groups owe people explanations for their existence is so mind boggeling to me. We get enough invalidation for several life times from doctors alone, I just wish people would recognize that we don't owe kindest to those who don't give it to us

It's such bs, like just because someone is disabled they need to politely regurgitate either personal information or things one can learn if they just bothered to google, with a smile on their face. Or even have to disrupt their day at all to kindly ask someone to f off, when they're just trying to enjoy their ice cream or whatever. Why is the person being invasive and treating a stranger as a living museum exhibit deserving of politeness? Asking disabled people to put up with rudeness born of ignorance, and getting upset if they respond in kind is beyond hypocritical.

The "boys will be boys" one. In preschool there was a kid who'd hit me every day. Told my parents and the teacher, there was a discussion with both sets of parents and the teacher. Kid's parents said that line, my dad returned with "and girls will be girls". He came home and told me that the next time that kid hits me I have full permission to "handle my business". Next day I gave him 3 strikes. Hit 1: "don't touch me. Teacher, X hit me". Hit 2: "I told you to stop. Teacher, he did it again". Hit 3: didn't say anything, I just broke his nose.
The teacher relayed the days events to my parents, I got in no trouble. And even though the teacher did also tell him to stop he ignored her.

Re: “Lady stop asking what’s in my pants I don’t want to have sex with you”
I used to use a similar tactic in high school. I was a queer kid going to Catholic school in a conservative town. I was deep in the closet and could “pass” most of the time, but the same was not true of some of my friends. On multiple occasions, people said things to me like “oh my goodness you’re friends with _____, right? I heard he’s gay, is that true?”. My response started being to pretend like I hadn’t understood their bitchy/ gossipy/ etc tone and to respond as if the gossiper had just admitted to having a massive crush on my friend. Eg “Ooooh why do you need to know? Are you in love with him? Aww that’s so cute that you have a crush!”

When I was in grade 8 (F presenting) a bully (who had multiple times gotten in trouble for bad comments and behaviour) told my friend, who is openly gay (I said I was lesbian then, but now I realized I’m nonbinary and have no clue about my sexuality) that if he were my friend he would kill me. He got suspended from the bus for two days. HE WAS ONLY SUSPENDED FROM THE BUS, WHICH I WASN’T EVEN ON, FOR ONLY 3 DAYS! it made me so mad, I didn’t tell my mom then, but later in grade 9 I did tell her. The only reason I told her though was because me and the kid were in the same science class and he asked my science teacher how gay people have kids, my science teacher told him that it depended on the person, and that the kid would have to ask someone personally. The kid then turned to me and said, if you and whatever wh*re you end up with want kids, i’d be happy to help. I told him that “oh, if I ever have kids i’ll just take them from homophobic a$$h*les like you, that way they’ll know what having parents who love them and each other is like.” My mom doesn’t like swearing, so o told her in a more pg way, but she got so mad on my behalf it made me so happy

3 years ago we had to put my dog to sleep (she had late stage bone cancer) and i was always struggling with depression but that sent me to a downward spiral and i wasn't able to take care of myself properly... when i started to get better i shaved my really long curly hair off down to like 1-2 mm because it was tangled beyond saving and it helped me a lot with feeling better and also it was a confidence boost (i looked badass imo) but the amount of unsolicited opinions and questions from complete strangers was frustrating and most of them came from, you guessed it, men and the most common ones were "women should have long hair", "i don't find short hair on women attractive", "are you trying to be a man?", "only lesbians have short hair" and so on, but i was ignoring all of them until one day an older guy on a bus stop asked if i was a lesbian in a very degrading tone and i just had enough so i turned to him with a smile and said "no, but i have cancer" and i know it's wrong to lie about something like that but the look on his face as he paled and tried to stutter out an apology was priceless... i wanted to stay there and grill him some more but right then my bus arrived so i left him there to process all that... i bet he'll never ask a total stranger an invasive questions like that ever again :) or at least i hope

How can you mess up so badly as to make your child not only watch but participate in the destruction of stuff that clearly means a lot to her, and then tell her she's upset because she's in satan's grasp and is therefore evil FOR LIKING UNICORNS?! I never experienced anything like this, but I'm horrified. Anyone who accepts that such a harmless interest is evil, is an idiot with no imagination. My (30F) dad died a few years ago and I had flown back to my home state to be with him in his last days and then be with my family for a couple weeks to get affairs in order and just generally grieve together. Terrible time but I am also SO glad I was able to be there. Anyway, the day after I returned home I was driving through town and was pulled over-I think my tags were expired? The officer was just being, like, way too nosey especially after I said something like “oh shoot, it must have expired while I was out of town”, and he ended up asking me why I was out of town with this weird incriminating tone. I had spent several days crying and mourning and was pretty emotionally exhausted at this point so, I looked at him straight in the face and with a deadpan tone, told him “well, my dad died”. He visibly reeled and then rushed off to his patrol car to gather his paperwork returning with just a quick, short warning. That interaction actually made me laugh and I *know* my dad would have laughed as well! 😂

Yeah, it's honestly baffling to me, even as someone who's not disabled. It's why my only interactions are to either smile and nod at them, or simply make a small comment like "hope you're doing good". Of course... this is also how I generally react to just about anyone that I'd have a reason to interact with in such a way. Just small, positive comments. Because from personal experience, such things can really make a difference in someone's life and mental health if they actually are doing bad. (there was a time where I was feeling pretty depressed, and while out with family at a symphony, some random young girl (probably 14ish?) just randomly complemented my shirt and it seriously made my week. (I was with my grandmother at the time, and was around like 26, with a full beard, so it was really easy to take it as simply a random positive comment and nothing else.))
BTW, I do genuinely hope anyone reading this is doing well, and if you're not, that things improve for you soon.

I'm an invisibly disabled, cisgender woman who has gotten multiple airport pat-downs. For the record, the term "pat-down" is misleading. There's really no patting; instead, the security agents smooth their hands along the body. I'll explain the procedure I've been through in detail as a reference, in case anyone is curious or wants a comparison point. I am happy to answer questions; nothing is off limits or too personal. Seriously. If I can be useful, I'm happy to do so. _Everyone_ should be treated with the dignity and respect I've been privileged (which I _hate,_ but will ruthlessly use as an ally) to experience.
I have an implanted medical device located in my back, just above my right hip. It pumps medication into my spine (kind of like an epidural, except a teensy bit deeper) to reduce my chronic pain from unbearable to just plain terrible. One of the benefits is that I get some pain relief without the drowsiness or other unpleasant side effects of other routes of pain medication delivery. (I'm happy to answer questions about this, and the spinal cord stimulator I had beforehand.) The general safety instructions, per the pump's user manual, caution me to avoid passing through any magnetic security devices that have a ceiling.
My pat-downs have been quite consistent.
As I am female-presenting, they find a female agent for me. This can take a while. There have been times I've waited at least twenty minutes (which cut it pretty clo, and have told them that I'm fine with a male agent performing the pat-down; I have had so many medical staff handle me that I long ago stopped caring about people touching me clinically. I do not remember any male agent performing a pat-down on me, but chronic migraines have made a mess of my memory, so I can't be sure. Hubs handles putting our belongings (including my shoes) through the metal detector and collecting them. He is not allowed near me from the moment I'm taken aside for my pat down.
Once they have a security agent, this is what happens:
-I stand on a mat, with my feet about hip-width apart, as indicated on the mat.
-The screener puts on fresh gloves.
-I'm asked to raise my arms, so that they're straight out, at roughly a 90° angle from my body.
-The screener usually starts with my front. With medium pressure, they hold the front of their hands flat against my body, with their fingers parallel with the floor, and make parallel, downward passes from shoulder-height to about where my breasts start (if I'm wearing clothing that covers this area). They do this until they have checked the whole area, from one shoulder to the other.
-They repeat the same motions from below my breasts (just under where the bottom of a bra hits) to about the level of my hip bones.
-They do the same with my legs. Some screeners curve their hands to follow the contours of my legs, and some keep their hands flat. They start fairly high up on the thighs, but _do not_ touch my crotch at all.
-When finished smoothing along my legs, they go back and carefully feel the hems of my clothing, and my ankles under my socks (if I'm wearing any).
-They follow the same procedure along my arms, checking the hems of sleeves. Once that is finished, I am allowed to put my arms down.
-Then, they explain that they will briefly run the *backs of their hands* over my breasts and pelvic area. This is always done quickly and clinically, using the same, parallel, downward motions as on the rest of my body. There is no lingering, grabbing, cupping, or anything of the sort. They do *not* put their hand(s) between my legs.
-They explain that they will hold one hand bladed (like a "karate chop" position) and run the side with the pinkie around the bottom contour of my breasts. This follows the path of where an underwire would sit on a bra. Again, it is done briskly and impersonally.
-They ask me to turn and face away from them, keeping my legs hip-width apart, and leaving my arms down.
-They follow the same procedure as with my front, only avoiding my buttocks.
-They notify me that they will use the backs of their hands on my buttocks, and use the same bladed hand position to run along the bottom curves of my buttocks, where they meet my legs.
-They check under my hair and squeeze along the length of a braid or ponytail. Some run their hands over the areas of my hair that are pulled back, too.
-Sometimes, they will wipe my skin, clothes, and/or carry-on with special paper that will pick up bits of debris that they can test for certain substances.
Security is not allowed to ask what my implanted medical device is for. They will ask the location, and if it is completely under my skin (it is). Sometimes they'll ask if it's a pacemaker or insulin pump, as those are most common. Since they can feel the pump through my skin when they reach that area of the pat-down, I pull my clothes aside, so they can see what it looks like, and confirm that the surgical scars are old and healed. They're not allowed to ask me to do that, but it makes the process easier for both of us if I volunteer it. I do have a card that was given to me by the device maker's representative to offer to security personnel. The card has some information on it, but TSA is not allowed to look at it, which is weird.
I live in Southern California, and have gone through these pat-down procedures at airports in San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Oakland, CA; San Jose, CA; Miami, FL; Lihue, HI; somewhere in Texas; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; and Willemstad, Curacao. The procedure has been nearly identical at each airport, both inside and outside of the US.
I have found that the type of clothing I wear can make the process go faster and require a little less touching than I have described. This is what has worked for me, I am not advocating for or against it with regard to anyone else. I wear a form-fitting tank top, capri-length yoga pants, and either flipflops on bare feet or ankle-height socks and sneakers. I pull my hair back into a French braid or ponytail, and make sure my hair tie is not bulky and does not contain metal. The only jewelry I wear is my wedding ring and sometimes earrings. This leaves very little of my body obscured. If it's cold, I'll wear a hoodie or jacket, which I take off to put through the scanner with our other carry-on items.

I have a bad habit of shutting down instead of reacting when people bother me, physically/verbally, whatever. But somethings happen enough that they go too far and I snap. It only happens every once in a while, and I've gotten better since getting out of the horrible emotional trauma that is middle school, but I did throw a rock at a kid once after almost 2 years of bullying while I was trying to walk home from school. I have good aim, and hit him while he was running from me (he left me alone when he realized I wasn't afraid to do it again).
So it turns out my mom and I have similar tempers, and I found this out after I became an adult. Learned that one time when she was around the same age I was ^, she was playing field hockey for a school class and a couple guys pushed her too far. She went after them and completely forgot she was holding the hockey stick until they started screaming. No one got hurt, and she only got in a bit of trouble, but they left her alone after that.

So....? -shrugs-" he shut up really quick and didn't make eye contact with me the rest of the day (it was a small lake beach). I told them what happened but they said it was my word against his because no one saw him grope me. They suspended me. My mom was FURIOUS. For reference: my dad passed away (by a sudden accident) when I was 18, and 6 days before Father’s Day.
It took me and my mom around 4 days before we went to the store, because I was graduating in a few weeks and my mom had bought me a beer pong table.
When we tried to get our package (it didn’t say what was in). The woman happily gave it to me and mom while saying “you can see that Father’s Day is around the corner, huh? 😉”. I was shocked and started crying and went out of the store (since I didn’t know how to react on the accident there happend 4 days before). The lady looked confused at my mom, who replied “her father passed away 4 days ago”…
I still feel bad for the lady in the store, she was nice, but just on a really bad day.

This reminds me on an incident When I was in 6th grade.
A bit of backstory, in fourth grade I had dealt with a really shitty and abusive teacher, so much that for the next year I had to homeschool. During the time with the teacher, the other kids always called me annoying (undiagnosed adhd) as well as thinking the teachers abusive behavior was justified (duh they were 10). In 6th grade I went into a homeschool program so I could ease my way back into the school system again. One day this kid called me annoying, and it stung as it brought back memories of what had happened a few years prior. I told him to stop and he refused. The teachers could tell that he was triggering me (as my parents had informed them of the situation I was in) and told him to stop, but he didn’t listen. He was clearly having fun rialing me up, and the teachers (all of the, being their first year of teaching as it was a new program) didn’t know what to do. I eventually got pissed of and bitch slapped him in the face. I panicked for a quick second, thinking that the teachers would get angry and hit me or something, but literally no one gave a shit, some were even smiling and holding in laughter after seeing some tiny ass 6th grader make some 7th grader twice the size of her almost fall down. Not saying it’s ok to slap someone for calling you annoying, but he never bothered me again

After a short argument that it was the zipper and the agent denying that fact several times, the agent suggested going to a private booth to do a pat down only for my dad to announce very loudly for the entire line to hear that if they wanted to do that, they could do it in view of everyone so he had witnesses. He did not a pat down in the end and the agent seemed rather hesitant to do any pat downs after that.

About the catcalling thing: One time i went absolutely feral at a man that was always sitting in the outdoor space of a bar and was constantly catcalling every person who remotely looked female. I had to walk there to get to a friends house and every time he screamed very off-hand disgusting things, it was so annoying and i decided one day i'll just f with him so he hopefully stops. So i put make-up on, dressed real fancy and went on my way. Of course he was there at the bar again, harassing everyone. So as i walk by he screams at me, i look at him like "oooh you mean meee, strong man?" went right to him and as soon as i was just a few meters away i started acting like a maniac, screaming, growling, hissing, moving like gollum. You get the point. I'm pretty sure he shit his pants by the look on his face. 😂 After that i went on my merry way and never saw him again. 🤷😅

I feel like that strategy can backfire so easily. Like, in your scenario it's a bit harder because the dude wasn't expecting it, and yet if he was drunk enough he would 100% buy into it.
But if I were in the same situation as the guy in the video, I will full on capitalize on it. "I like your biceps, but I like them more without the shirt", "You're gonna love what I have without the pants then".
Do I want to do the girl? No. But gawd danmit I would love to be "that guy".
When people decide that the right answer to an issue is to try and prove a point in a very dumb way, they kinda deserve their scheme to backfire.
Don't do things just because you're angry. 9/10 times it can end up badly.

When I was 11 I had a wart removed from the sole of my foot, in the middle of the heel, and because of that, I had a note from the doctor to sit out of my PE classes for a couple of days while the wound healed. I only used that "excuse" for the activities I really couldn't do (basically anything involving putting my heel on the ground) but I still used my scooter to get to school every morning because I only needed to use the front of my foot to propel it, so it didn't hurt.
Well, one day we were supposed to do a running activity in PE and the teacher allowed me to skip it, but a group of my classmates started complaining that I was faking it to get out of the activity, that I couldn't have any problem because obviously, I was fine enough to use my scooter every day.
With a wicked smile I just went "oh yeah, I have a hole in my foot, do you wanna see it?" and started taking off my shoe and my sock and peeled off the bandaid that was covering the wound.
The look of absolute horror on their faces when they saw the 2cm wide hole in my heel was so satisfying. They all instantly looked away and begged me to cover it. They never said a word after that.

Oh my goodness that poor poor kid, I can’t imagine having the ONE THING you’re allowed to like and be interested in be ripped away and literally burned right in front of you at such a young age.
It’s a good thing the mother still feels bad about it, she SHOULD still feel bad about what she did because what she did was HORRIBLE.
I had a strained relationship with my mom as a kid (it’s better now) and mind you she never did something like this, but one day we were arguing about some materials I had left out (i was and will always be a very artistic and creative person) and she said something along the lines of “oh, so you’re gonna make something with it? Using what? Your so called creativity?”
I burst into tears and she immediately apologized, still that ONE COMMENT stuck with me for a really long time. Sometimes it still causes me grief and adds to my extremely self critical thoughts.
Whenever I bring it up my mom always apologizes and feels bad because she KNOWS how much my creativity means to me and how insecure/ critical I can be about it. And she KNOWS that what she said was messed up and mean.
And that was ONE COMMENT, i can’t imagine what having your entire room burned and your interest be called satanic and evil would ever do to a child smh

For those who haven't seen it, there is literally no spirituality of any kind in the movie, it's just about a terrible boss whose employees hate her so much they call her the devil behind her back (and only once or twice if I remember correctly).
