  • Black screen, after powering on.
What I found that fixed it. My apologies for shakiness and commenting on things being backwards as it isn't but was in my shooting it!

Thanks for the information concerning the SM-P900 when there isn't any display after dropping it by accident. What you described about the latch that affixes the cable is true, when certain conditions are present, or have been. Now I can enjoy my SM-P900 again, without worrying about buying a new tablet.

wow dude!!. i can't believe this!. it was so simple, i dropped my tablet from a low altitude, and it just went black. i opened it and wasnt working. Just by looking at your video i noticed the superior little cap was open. I closed it and yes! it was all. fixed!!. THanks!!

Thank you so much for this video.
It turns out that in my case, the top tab flipped up when I dropped it. All I had to do was make sure the cable was as taught as possible, and clamp the clip back down.
    Thanks again!

This fix also worked for me on a somewhat different set of symptoms. Initially the right hand side of the screen had a curved area of pixels that were darker than the rest. Colors would still come through but looked "stained" for lack of a better word. The n some weeks later, the screen would never come back on after going into stand by. A full power down and restart would bring it back, but then again, it would go dark once it went into standby. Unplugging and reconnecting the cable as shown in the video fixed both issues.

I made this quickly prior to putting back of tablet back on. As I was searching for a solution I never saw anyone doing a video of fixing the black screen issue? Most of us that dropped the tablet did so without cracking the screen, and many like myself didn't drop it very far. Mine landed actually doing no physical damage so it took me by surprise when it didn't come on? I could see the key lights and hear the tablet but no visual or video came on? It wasn't until I opened it up and saw nothing wrong I thought the problem would be hidden! Looking at the gray or silvers tape at bottom of video ribbon it looked to be OK? So I had nothing to lose by removing this tape and saw the ribbon end not connected to anything? It looks like a ribbon of paper that's folded over at one end. That's why its easier to reinsert the ribbon by removing top part of ribbon also. I wasn't about to undo it after fixing it to show you just in case something else might go wrong so its why I only explain on here.

Hemm. I have the problem, but your suggestion did not work for me. the cable was sitting in solid. I unplugged it to see if there are other symptoms, but all the contacts look great. I broke the clip when I tried to put it back.

Yikes! Maybe try taping it or small dab of glue. There are 2 connectors. One in front & another that I show.
If one didn't solve the problem try the other connector..
