Braid use on a beach will have sand embedded in it and becomes abrasive. Seen old style stainless steel guides wear out. I use aluminum oxide now in my new rod projects. Getting my stuff from you guys.
Just started following you guys and really appreciate the videos you are sharing, definitely worth watching. The split handle casting rod on this show I would like the information on if possible please
I have a Tsuka G2 complete carbon handle system 7’6” point blank blank med hvy fast, fuji guide set GMKWSG1010 SO906280, and don’t know how far apart to put the guides. I heard you say find the bending point and go a few inches below it to put the top guide. Should I just go every 3”-4” with the other guides? And should I use all 10 guides? I’m not a fan of having lots of guides.
We like to teach rod builders to always deflect your blank after putting your guides on with guide tubing, tape, etc. to get the most accurate guide spacing for your specific rod blank and build. To start though, we have guide spacing charts on our website to get you a general guide train layout that you can adjust with deflecting your rod. Look for the "Baitcasting Rods Standard" section and use the spacing for the 7'6" rod to get you with a basic guide layout to start. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0275/1342/1957/files/Fuji-Concept-Guide-Spacing.PDF?v=1597680266
You Guys have so much Great info it's a shame you lose a lot of us because there is just toooo much talking off subject. Please pick a subject and stick to it sometimes less is more.
Hi Dan, Sorry about that, we get a little passionate about rod building and that tends to keep us going longer than we should sometimes. Being that this is a live show and questions come in from the audience in real time, we want to give every one their time. We do have more recent shows you can check out on our Mud Hole Live playlist that tackle Guides & Guide Spacing if you are still interested and they are time stamped so you can go straight to the specific information you need. Check it out here - ruclips.net/p/PL70J_niOcbAXY32EKwTheVYZU1OMsyWQl Either way, we appreciate the comment and we will work on staying on topic in the future. Happy Building!

@@MudHoleCustomTackle thank you
Aluminum oxide guides will grove easily with braid.
What are the specs on the Split Grip spinning rod? Blank, grips, reel seat and guides. Thanks
@@MudHoleCustomTackle so I would like to know what blank is used on the setup used in the setup with the VSS split grip at 30:00 minute mark
Let's roll
Nice video
Does having more guides on a spinning rod make it stronger?
Not at all.
