I was in S. Korea in 1985 and before I left I visited a factory in Seoul. I had a couple of rods made, one for myself and one for my son. I am not sure if this is the same factory on not, but the operation then is like the one in this video. Everyone worked together to make a fine item. The only issue I had with it was that it just proved that I was not a fisherman. My son loved his so I gave him mine also. I enjoyed the visit to the factory very much.
I love fishing and have about 15 various rods of different length & weight and just watching your video blows me away as to how they are made and the time saking details that each individual puts into it. There are two Big fishing Rod companies in Korea. 'N.S Rod' and 'JS company'. N.S is a bigger and more diverse rod, and JS is focuses more on lure fishing. JS is my favorite Rod company and good quality and price.
@@bradleyrussell1973 General, as you can see in the video, blanks are made by their own method, and I know that '3M' carbon fiber(prepreg?) is used in their some models. As I know that they are not used imported or other companies blanks. (prepreg is a Korean product)
My rods from Korea are some of the best I own!! The Chinese ones... not so much! You can truly see and feel the difference in quality! The Korean rods last much much longer!!
I'm sorry, I don't agree with you. I think your comments are somewhat one-sided. Hyundai of Korea and BMW of Germany can't make a direct comparison. China produces many high-quality Daiwa and Shimano fishing rods. I think it is an objective fact to draw a conclusion after comprehensive consideration of various elements such as price / value / quality / brand
@@洪斌-u9y u know some good qualities of Chinese product are not cheap anymore...and what brings the good reputation to the products is consistently provides good qualities to the market and most of the Japanese products made in China are quality controlled by Japanese angling technicians but on the other hand I really appreciate that Chinese manufacturer distributes massive practical prices to all the global market however it's still being copied in terms of the fishing culture in other countries which is not independent and unique technological...
Depends on if they're china owned companies who are making the rods compared to west companies who have set up factories in china to make rods. The later you will find the rods are good, but if it's china owned and made yeah stay away from. You really cannot beat anything made in Japan tho, some very nice fishing gears comes from there.
It is so wonderful to have light weight rod making you able to feel everything. And if it happens you get a big fish your rod is strong too. When I was a kid in my country fishin in streams were entertainement adventure ... we usually caught crap fish and trow it on the ground. These days , you catch crap ( worth nothing ) fish you send it back into the stream. Also , when you catch very fine fish, trouts bass and they are too small, you should in modern days send it back into lake or stream. A sports fisherman these days supposed to be educated .... and only keep fish for cooking if they are old big and valuable.
Great video. Setting the tip top after finding the "spine" of the blank truly separates short run rod blank batches from the mass produced product. It takes a lot of time to roll each blank and set your tip top accordingly but it makes the rod more balanced and perform better whether in conventional or spinning configuration.. During the rolling process the rod designer can add additional patches of carbon cloth to alter the action of the rod blank as well. Its really neat from an engineering perspective.
@@saveroomfor Its basically the seam where the rolled blank material comes to an end on the mandrel. When you roll the cloth on the mandrel the spine is created by the end edge of the cloth at the end of the rolling process. You can roll the blank in your palm and it will take a "natural set" along the spine, You can do it with any blank or finished rod. It is really easy to do after a couple times. 98% of factory rod's tip tops are off spine.

This is why nowadays i understand why there are certain fishing rods that are expensive. You pay for the quality, workmanship and technology. Hence why I treat mine with extra care
Nothing will help you catch your prize fish moreso than the quality of pole you're using. As a bass fisherman, and doing so from a kayak, a great pole is the difference between a solid 100yd cast or a rat's nest. Really neat to see how quality poles are made.

카본은 원래 전량 수제작입니다. 그래서 작업자의 숙련도에따라 품질이 나뉘죠.

99%가 수제로 만들기에 아무나 함부러
칼국수 말듯이 말아서 낚시대라고 못팝니다. 물론 일부 조구사는 그렇게
만들고 팔아먹지만 말입니다.
중저가 낚시대는 조심해야 합니다.
국산은 특히.
한국 조구사도 고급 라인만 국내 생산하고 저가 라인은 다 중국으로 돌리죠 ㅋㅋ 일본도 마찬가지고

90年代後半まで、日本メーカーの釣竿は韓国製が多かったです。
そうした実績もあり、韓国製は品質が良いので信頼しています。
