The castle was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif ll in 1708.At the time Rustaq was the Capital of Oman.
The Caste has a square shape
with 2 giant cylindrical cannon towers on the north and south corners.
There is a big Indian wood gate in the entrance of the main building.
The castle is equppied with digital audio guides and detailed descriptions of the exhbits.
It is located 160 km away from Muscat.
Entry fees only for adults and it is
0.5 Oman Rial.
