I think the dealerships knew what the deal was going to be with the SV roadsters. You didn't lose because you got back what you paid for it, but they knew they'd appreciate. Slick play getting owners to give them back the cars so they can cash in on the appreciation. Nobody lost money though so that's good.

I don't get how anyone would have a problem with a 488. Especially if you like roadsters I think you could made the case the 488 is a better roadster than an Aventador. I really don't get why anyone would think its a downgrade. A 488 is more of a traditional sports car and the Aventador is a beast.

Why would the car dealership offer u full retail on ur SV, offer you a Ferrari with a full buy back if they won't make money out of it. They are still making a profit out of this deal. Also look at the price difference between a 458 and 458 speciale (which is limited)

The SVJ’s are very nice-the Aventador might be one my all time favorite cars, but out of my $$$ range, I do see that the Murcielagos are getting close to bottom as far as prices go-some as low as $140K-for a Lambo V-12, that’s a steal!
Ferrari’s are great to own because of the maintenance package. The 488 is not a downgrade to an SV they have different strengths both awesome supercars.

Isnt the SV limited addition and the SVJ has no real production ceiling point. SV is set to hold and probably appreciate over time. SVJ probably not so much. But its all for the love of driving and being in the present... Wonderful experience either way.
Personally, I think the 488 is sexier and more forgiving than the Lambo. All it is missing is a more gutteral exhaust note. Aside from the Italian exotics what would be your 3rd choice if you could have any other make of supercar?
Looks are subjective but the overall super car experience I think the Lamborghini wins hands down!!! Sound and presence can't be beat even by most hyper cars!

I get it why you trade in the Lamborghini the cost difference between the Ferrari and Lamborghini. The 2018 Ferrari 488 Price Base price $301,000 (CAD)TypeV8 and then the price difference of The standard Lamborghini Aventador starts at a measly $400,000 with shipping. That's child's play compared to the SV, which has a base price of $494,000 -- before options. Do the math plus it depends on the options as well.✌🐼🤳🏼
A Fully Loaded SV with full gloss carbon accents comes in around 600k. Then you have sales tax so figure on spending 650k for a brand New SV back in 2016-2017 for a Coupe. The SVJ comes in around the same thing. How do I know? I own an SV and I just tried to trade it in for the SVJ but I didn't like the color of the SVJ or all the Matt Carbon so I backed out.

Get your mechanic to check the lug nuts on the wheels of your 488 Spider. No joke the right rear wheel has come off on a few 488 cars. Those lug nuts are only torqued to 75 pounds! Not like the center lock wheels on Sammy!!!

Uhh, I think you unintentionally started this video oddly. It seemed like it was gonna be a Lambo rant video with how you started by holding a Ferrari mug 😂😂😂 Anyway, insightful video! The SV was/still is definitely cool, but when the rumors of an SVJ started, I suspected the SV market was gonna lose strength. And then the dealer classifieds (Manheim, etc) started getting sorta flooded with them. Oof. Not everyone here may really understand, but you totally scored by offloading it at MSRP haha. The Ferrari market is also interesting. It's impressive how some of their cars can stay at MSRP for such a long time before they eventually dip (or in the case of the F12tdf, shoot way above MSRP even after the 812 was announced to keep an NA V12). An interesting change in the garage, but the reAL(A) party (see what I did there?) will hype up when the SVJ arrives! Also, I showed Sammy the Lambo this video. Sammy disliked it, so you're welcome 😂😂😂
Wait until you find out how much the 488 Spider will be worth at trade in time. You will be pissed you got rid of the SV. Anyhow, you still look very happy with the 488 and that's what having money is all about. Work hard, play hard. What's a 100k, win or lose, when your playing in the 600k-700k arena anyway! :-)
This was a wish move and i completely understand. Lamborghini are great cars but if you can get SVJ which I'm sure will be limited production model that alone is worth it. Most people compare both cars but like you said completely different cars only thing in common both Italian & sports cars. 488 is real nice car you really did well in this exchange usually you have to eat more money to obtain another vehicle like this and the amount of money someone 9 out of 10 loses substantial amount. Very happy for you, hope you get better soon. Take a couple table spoons of raw honey you will feel better in few days. ✌

As a non-supercar own I prefer the SV. However Producer Michael (youtube) could own pretty much any super car actually said the 488 is his favourite.
720s is better than the 488 or sv lol 458 is more fun to drive (and sounds better) I think than the 488 but both are nice.
You don't have to drive one , the stats and stature of the once Nurburgring king SV are superior to a mere 488. Not saying the 488 is bad but c'mon .

Production numbers on the SVJ roadster are not out yet and it is rumored to be more limited than the SVJ coupe as they did with the SV.

Your SV was a one of 500 in entire world, it would never depreciate in value.
tough to say and unlikely since the SVJ is now the last normally aspirated V12 for Lambo...that kind of takes the limited nature of the SV away

If Lamborghini stops making naturally aspirated V12 big bodies, they’ll kill the uniqueness of the cars.

both are limited. The SV value took a big hit since it no longer is the last normally aspirated V12 from lambo - that title now goes to the SVJ.
