Agreed on the proper workstation. I’ve seen so many vans that claim to have a workstation when it’s really just a lagoon table they put their laptop on. Terrible ergonomics. Whereas this is great!

@@roberthanselman5149 My youtube search that led me to this video was "van conversion office". I am "older" as well and almost every video has the office in the back with bench seating. Working from home for the last couple of years I know that I need something with more support. There's a very ergonomic swivel seat designed for long hours that comes with the van - nice to see a build using it well :)

It really works for me . I enjoy working and a few feet from the outside . I usually pace when I'm on the phone....pacing outside is better than inside.
the extra counter for cooking is a really good idea, and the shelf from the cabinet for holding things while cooking is very cool, love it, a very well plan van. 💙, I will follow his adventures I subscribed, I think I will copy the cabinet idea.

I'm having the same thing. I love how their are multiple wood tones. I like how you've set up your office space.

Hey my friend! This looks amazing. The freedom to travel is perfect. Everything is so multipurpose and I love that so much. Did the downsizing in order to do this cause you any issues? If you ever get up near Pittsburgh come to our farm and visit!
I will do so......Downsizing was the best part ....less stress, less bills, etc. I sold a lot of "stuff" when I sold my loft in atlanta, the rest I put in storage.
NOt at all.....I have a bike rack on the. back of it and I still find a place. Just remember when you back up the back bumper is what the beeper is detecting ....not the rack. I backed into a car once because I thought I had another 12 " to back up .
After watching this video, it feels like you got into the van thing because it's a thing. That said, whoever built you vehicle did a nice job, even if you don't know much about it.

Joshua, Thanks for the comment. Actually yes. It is wider in the back of the van and I can slep from side to side. As for the the sprinter I would have to sleep long ways....it just saves a lot of space..... I have not driven a sprinter so i do not know what it drives like.....but the Promaster drives ust right for me. What part of the country do you live in ......and are you doing a build out on your own?

How tall are you? Is your bed width wise 72 inches? It seems doable for someone under 5’10”. Any taller and it becomes a tight fit. Also, can you sit up in the bed without hitting the ceiling?
Hi. I am 6 foot. As you can see I do not hit my head. The bed fits just right. This is why I choose the pro master over the sprinter. The sprinter is more narrow in the back.
@@roberthanselman5149 Thanks for the info. We are both the same height. I do like the Promaster because you can be sleep width wise if you have a permanent bed raised off the floor. I've looked at the Promaster, Sprinter, and Transit and they all have good points. I want a U shaped dinette/bed that is high enough off the floor to sleep width wise without my head hitting the ceiling! The Promaster and Transit are both strong choices. While the Promaster is 3/4" wider than the Transit measured for maximum be width, the Transit is 3" taller. That is why I would like to know if your head hits the ceiling if you sit in the bed? How far off the floor is your bed?
@@beachliving3127 The promaster will work perfect for you ....my bed is 3'5" from the floor to the top of the matress. When I sit up in bed I do not hit my head. Also, know it get's tight back there when taking the table down and up.....making the bed....etc. THat is a one person job. With two people I would go to 50 gal rather than 40 gal. Best of luck and send me pictures when you get working on it.
@@roberthanselman5149 Thanks for the info. I've sketched out dozens of designs so far and recently started to test drive the vehicles. I'm OK with the U shaped dinette. It only takes a couple of minutes to set and tear down but you get all of that space! The only question is if I can get a U shape dinette configuration designed for a width wide bed that can be off the floor enough to sleep width wide. I've haven't seen one yet. If it doesn't work, I will just make it length wide since I won't have an internal shower.
If it's a brand new van (52,000) and the build out can be up to 50,000 to 70,000.....depending on what you would like in it . If it's a used van ....much cheaper and you can go simple on the build out .
I just went out and measured it ......21" deep, 36" wide and 6'1" high. If I did it all over again I will cut it down to a smaller tray. If you have any other questions let me know.

Do you find that parking is limited because of the 170wb?
NOt at all.....I have a bike rack on the. back of it and I still find a place. Just remember when you back up the back bumper is what the beeper is detecting ....not the rack. I backed into a car once because I thought I had another 12 " to back up .
