Just discovered these girls , on a Saturday morning news show... a few hours ago...I've been listening to all their music for hours now. I'm 71 , a life long musician ...and now have a new love....new favorites..
I'm Klara's age and my sister is Johanna's age. I really relate to this video because I've always believed that my older sister's life is so perfect compared to mine...
You girls have no idea how much your music means to me. As someone still in the early stages of recovery, and as someone who adopted music as a part of recovery, you two have really resonated with me. Your music and personalities are inspiring, and really helpful! Thank you, and keep it up! I'm really excited to see what comes next.
*I love how their melodic beautiful voices make you forget how sad the song is* , only those lilting melodies tip you off now and then.....lovely song...sad words xx
I didn't think I would love this so much. Their voices are beautiful, and starting at 3:06 I actually had chills. I can't remember the last time I had chills during music that wasn't classical or nostalgic for me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go check out the rest of their discography.
I keep and keep coming to listen to this song... It's beautifully done. Amazing talent. 'Ruins', 'Fireworks' and "Nothing has to be true" are pure love and emotion. Thank you. First Aid Kit for sure. Healing hearts all over the globe. And the way you harmonize, always leave me teary-eyed. From that good old Fleet Foxes cover made by the trees that made me cry, till the end. Thanks for the feeling. Thanks for the music.
I love them more & more, this video is joyous and heartbreaking at the same time. I saw them a few years ago at Somerset House in London with my ex, we’d split up before the show, and he was an ass, but there was no way I was missing out on going. The beauty and power of their music made me even have warm feelings towards him for the hour and half they were playing, that says a lot about the magic they create, a light in the storm ❤️💚
My eyes have always been stuck on Klara, she's so beautiful and expressive. I hope she finds the right man/(or woman) that she deserves. Don't get me wrong, both of them are the best duo Iv'e ever listened too.
It's a shame others aren't treating Klara how they treat Johanna to whom the world is dancing with. It's a shame people are always are leaving/excluding Klara leaving her lonely and sad, Johanna does not have that problem for whatever reasons. In conclusion the world may treat each sister different but at the end of the day they both treat each other with love and respect no matter what each goes through, they may leave each other but it's only temporarily, they always come back to each other at the end of the day.. You have to lose yourself to find yourself.
People are posting about about it being “ugly vs pretty.” I don’t believe that’s the case. The album is being said to be about breakup. So maybe, how one feels after a breakup (left) as opposed to what it felt like before (right).
Yeah something like that! More or less i believe it is about the way people talk about how free you feel and how simple a break up is versus how shitty and lonely it actually is...
yeah exactly! My other thought was that too. Because both are identical in regards to the places they visit. The only difference is the emotion conveyed.
The song was definitely written about Klara's breakup with her fiance, yes. But, videos don't always reflect what the song was actually written about. The fact is that until Klara and Johanna tell us what their aim was with this video, we'll never really know. Until then, it's open to interpretation. I think both interpretations sre entirely plausible.
My hang up is just the "ugly vs pretty" interpretation some ppl throw out there. Cause that's all subjective and I don't think they'd make a video claiming such things.
Shane Mullins - Then I assume you're not a woman. 😊 (Sorry, but you just can't tell from first names these days...) Any woman will get it. Especially if they've ever been called "the less pretty sister" - and I'd bet Klara's heard that more than once in her life/musical career.
I notice how Klara mostly walks with her head down and forward while Johanna is usually looking around and that says so much! This video is just as much a work of art as this amazing song!
I just saw them at ACL weekend one and they made me cry. Such a beautiful set. They are so talented. I make sure I see them whenever they make to my state
I was just thinking that. They are so underrated but their music would have probably topped the charts in the 70's. In just glad i get to enjoy these amazing sisters music.
The one take away from this video… and the one thing that gets me choked up every time I watch it… is the very last second.. and that little smirk that says… It’s gonna be ok!!❤😢❤ You two are amazing! Please never stop making music! ❤❤❤
Such lovely sound! I heard this song on the latest 9-1-1 episode and just had to look it up. I thought it was some hidden early 90's gem I hadn't discovered, but to my surprise it was released last year. Nice to know artists can still produce such unique music. Love it!
What this video says to me: one woman can look upset and have everything seemingly go wrong. Another woman can look happy and have a seemingly perfect life with everything going right. But they're both singing the same words -- on the inside, they're the same, both lonely, both struggling. And at the end of the day, they wind up in the same place.
This is what I got from it too. It's quite a strong message to say 'without you, my life is miserable, and everything sucks', but I think it can be equally profound to say "even though my life is good, I still really want you here, because it's better with you in it".
@@TWolf317 Not really, Klara's boyfriend had broken up with her right before she and Johanna left to write the album. It's more about feeling like shit and the perspective it gives you on life VS someone who has a more positive outlook. Her make-up and clothes also aren't as flattering as Johanna's, I think because those are times when you don't really feel pretty or good about yourself.
For me you are angels from heaven......sublime harmonies that comes and get your soul.....first class production for this song......I love it.....and, may I say that you are both beautiful girls.!
Just today discovered these two!! They are amazing!! Love their music - such a vast choice of music on RUclips, and most of it is all new to me! A child of the 60s....
Both are beautiful girls and have exquisite voices. Their song Silver Lining is out of this work and why it didn't make them a gazillion dollars I'll never know? Klara and Johanna, may you both keep on keeping on.
This is one of my most favorite videos ever. I've enjoyed reading the various interpretations of it. A friend of mine once said it was about about the "fat" sister being trod upon; I see his point of view. However, each of us is going to bring to the video our own experiences. I've always seen it as an exploration in perceptions. One sister steps in the puddle and sees it as a problem; the other jumps over the puddle. It's about responding to the situations life presents us and deciding how we are going to interpret those situations. It's Hem and Haw. "Who Moved my Cheese?"
@@MrHerecomesjohnny Thanks for the reply. Your point is well taken. As someone who has been the ugly duckling or at least an unpopular kid, I've learned that life is neither kind nor unkind. It is up to us to determine the value of our experiences.
You can tell your friend that, as someone who's seen them live, I can attest that Klara is not "fat". Not that it would be bad if she was, but they're both really tall and Johanna is very thin. More to your point, it's a difference I've been able to observe. I'm shy and going through depression while a friend of mine is more outgoing and confident. She's married now, but in the past, when we entered a room, men would look at her, not me. She was more in shape than me, but I wasn't ugly or fat. Even when she left me with a guy for a bit to give me a chance, the minute she came back, he completely stopped looking at me. It was striking. This reminds me of 500 Days Of Summer... Like, the way it's filmed and the fact that it could've been part of the soundtrack! Beautiful voices girls! ♥♥
I love the little smile as Klara is back on the elevator with her sister, after being so down the entire video. I know it's a breakup song, but I also know they have talked about their break as a band and the time spent apart and it seems like this video is dealing with a lot of those emotions, too.
It's a real shame that this amazing band is not more known, they are better than most of other singers

Everyone posting about the meaning of the song but can we just take a minute to appreciate how beautiful their voices are?
Thinking the same thing, lots of pop psychology and projection going on...
It's a shame
Who says those posters haven't done this?
And that skirt is amazing too.. Such a cool pocket.

ok but when will the 'it's a shame' t-shirt be on sale?
I love it girls, keep up the good music

Lately I've been thinking about the past
How there's no holding back
No point in wasting sorrow
On things that won't be here tomorrow
But you and I, well we don't need to speak
It's a secret that we keep
How do you and I decided
Just say when and we'll say goodnight
Tell me it's ok
To live life this way
Sometimes I want you to stay
I know it's a shame
Shame
Shame
And I spend so much of my time
Going out of my mind
I try so hard to be amused
But what you cannot gain you lose
In LA the sun's almost too bright
I cannot get it right
The emptiness I feel
And now none of this seems real
Maybe it's alright
If I just spend the night
Sometimes I just can't bear to walk way
I know it's shame
Shame
Shame
Who have I become?
Who will I become tomorrow?
Tell me it's ok
If I ask you to stay
Sometimes the night cuts through me like a knife
I know it's a shame
I know it's a shame
I know it's a shame
Shame
Shame
Shame
How do you and I decided should be: out of view and out of sight

Like, the way it's filmed and the fact that it could've been part of the soundtrack!
Beautiful voices girls! ♥♥
Poor Klara 😢
i cried she deserves better
Team Klara.
Saxton Hale team first aid kit! 😜
Klara is doing just fine from my point of view!!!
I love the little smile as Klara is back on the elevator with her sister, after being so down the entire video. I know it's a breakup song, but I also know they have talked about their break as a band and the time spent apart and it seems like this video is dealing with a lot of those emotions, too.
My favorite song so far by you guys, also couldn't help but love the girl on the left :)
Love you guys. Great seeing you twos again. ☺
It’s a great concept video and great to see two of my favorite music heroes back in the scene
I can't stop playing this video. I want to cuddle up by myself and read some very reassuring philosophy in this voice.
This is the most underrated music group
Great song by the incredibly talented duo from Sweden. Love it, can't wait to purchase "Ruins" in January!!!!
I didn't understand the video before reading the comments because i've just watched Johanna the whole time. I know, it's a shame.
