I was all the way with these episodes, right up until the 'specialist plate' part required. Shame. I don't have a 'Garth'.

Sadly I don't have a Garth anymore, he was a gentleman in every way and bloody nice guy 😔

Great video. I’m going to do my own now in Wollongong, Australia. Didn’t see how you put the rubber grommet in for the trip meter reset knob, nor how the knob itself was attached.
Another thing, is there a source of a replacement rubber grommet to seal the trip meter reset? One of my speedos is missing the grommet, and the reset knob.

The rubber dust seal just goes in using a small flat blade screwdriver, but be careful !

@@suzukigt750idiot It's taken me a while, but I'm finally putting my clocks together. Got new faces, gaskets, crimp rings, trip knob and grommet. I'm still at a loss as to how you tightened the trip knob though, given that it has a lock nut on the hidden end inside. Any tips?

@DOC19581 It's just an opposite thread, forget the locknut just wind it in until it turns the trip.
But make sure you have the trip nob lined up before you crimp all the way around, I normally just do a couple of crimps then check !

How did you get the trip shaft off please

@raymondburniston8630 It's an opposite thread so if you screw it in like your tightening it, it will unscrew

As I said on the video I got a guy to make it for me, I just gave him a rev counter and a water temp clock, told him what I wanted and he made it for me

@@suzukigt750idiot Will have a go making a wooden template for my Kawasaki clocks to crimp the halves. Good video as always, many thanks.
