My father has had a CZ in .22lr my whole life as far as I can remember, and it is by far the best bolt action .22lr I have ever shot. Straight and true, very reliable.
Have been a Brno fan since childhood and fired all the old models. This one is OUTSTANDING in every department... bolt configuration, stock, trigger ....
Why the hell would they take such a nice rifle, and ruin it completely by stamping the name into the side of the stock, and especially in large block letters? That made it just ugly enough that I will never buy one.
@@Greyzonecompliant I do like the checkering, but wished the forearm was not thinner right there. All nice rifles have checkering under the forearm, but that one just looks odd. Looks like it was made for a 10/22. No real need for it to be thinner from top to bottom there. CZ made several bad choices there and it will end up being s flop.

I love the 457. They reduced the bolt throw to 60 degrees! Now you can use medium and low rings and the bolt will clear the optic. The action is sized nicely, the trigger is good, and you can change calibers if ya wanna. Even with the model # cut into the stock, it is still much better looking than those tactical looking synthetic stocks. quality is there. nice rifle and thanks for the video
I hate the stock shape and think the writing on the side is an eyesore and will put off potential buyers , the new bolt etc is great , scopes can now be mounted lower .
I agree with Dunc R , I wouldn't buy something with that laser carving on the stock , nor do I care for the checkering pattern or the step down from the action to the forearm . I do appreciate the fact that a scope can be mounted lower . Action looks good , but I think this "American" style stock is merely someone's idea of what Americans like . I have a 452 in .22 l.r. and one in .22 magnum . If you want to see what an American type stock looks like , look at one of these . Personally I won't be buying any ugly guns .
I just bought one and the wood is way darker and nicer flame pattern like a Gibson guitar. The side engraved Royal 527 is not as annoying as it looks in the video. It's awesome looking in real life. Really good!

This bloke has a long tail bolt actioned CZ on his hands there doesn't he. There must be an advantage to the longtails for them to have changed their design given the fact the 452 and 455 actions were damn good. Cheaper to make or better accuracy?

Can you tell me what does WMR and HMR MTR stand for,I like the look of the CZ457 American and CZ457 and CZ457 Varmint,Whats the best one for shooting Rabbits can it kill a Fox.
WMR = Winchester Magnum Rimfire (22 Magnum) HMR = Hornady Magnum Rimfire (.17 calibre). Both are more effective than 22LR for game up to about 15 KG, but much louder.
@@paulallenMacca No problem. Just bear in mind that the .17 HMR is known as a "varmint" round, meaning it is designed to produce instant kills on small pest mammals through massive expansion but shallow penetration. This means it will destroy much of the meat on a game animal such as a rabbit.

Too bad with a stroke of the pen your gun privileges can just disappear in the U.K. and all those beautiful firearms in this gun shop could be confiscated and destroyed. It's time for a constitution and gun rights in every nation around the world to thwart despotism and tyranny. CZ stocks are beautiful junk, I own 3 CZ rifles and 2 of them had the stock crack at the rear of the receiver after only a few shots. Turkish walnut is too brittle and CZ is not too careful to only use straight grain 1/4 sawn wood, so often the grain ends behind the receiver and a small triangular chip will pop out after only a few shots, fortunately they have excellent warranty service and made them right. There are several You Tube videos on cracked CZ stocks, it's a problem CZ knows about.

This is not a nicely done gun, as you put it. It is juast a cheap gun, with laser cut checkering and the most awful imprint on the side if the stock. The sling swivel studs are badlly fitted into the stock, as is the bottom mechanism. Using Torx head screws just confirms the bad taste and adds to the cheap look.
