Just bought it! Love the sounds. Also very much appreciate teh Rytm pattern. Learned a lot from compression settings and patterns. Getting out from 4 on the floor is helpful, would support additional Rytm projects!!
Tossing up between Rytm and Perkons. I know, eventually I’ll probably get both, but that’s not viable for me right now. If you had to choose one or the other, which would you prefer?
I ask me the same question why they don't give us second LFO ? And also I don't like a lot the presentation of the LFO, I prefer the Ableton LFO with his sync and FREE mode, very simple. I stil don't understand the Elektron LFO(I've had the analog rhythm for a year) But it's still a really funny machine and very confortable for live performance.
The second feature that I miss is an option to independently reset amp and filter envelopes. Also some (simple) filtering for samples, like in Digitakt. From tiny things: new Euclidean sequencing would be better with independent lengths for both sequences. Also would love to see compressor visualization like in MK1, it's easy to get overboard.
Grabbed the pack. I loved the Perkons but couldn't justify its cost for my setup. I have the Rytm and love the usability / tweakability and it got so much better after 1.7. Even the gainstaging just feels "tighter" and all of the other good stuff people are saying. Anyways, I am stoked to have a little piece of Perkons back in my life in some way.
thanks for your support! really appreciated. I need to try the new Perkons firmware , they added quantized scales which can be amazing . But as you, I end up always using the rytm.
It’s nice to have a channel doing such a good sound design in this device. I’m trying to figure out what is better for me. An Analog Rytm mkt 2 or the digitakt + the syntak. I need one or the other to create my own drum samples in the studio.. I work a lot with sound design and in the DAW I usually use synth and sample layers to make my own drum sounds. When I say digitakt + syntak it’s because I’m thinking about syncing the MIDI of the two devices and layering the synth (of syntak) with samples (of the digitakt). Example: in digitakt a clap sample and in the syntak a synth model clap. I’m trying to figure out which choice has more sound design power. In the Analog Rytm mkt 2 I can resample… but in the digitakt + syntak it looks like there is a bigger range of sounds for me to tweak and experiment with. What would be your suggestion? Thank you!
love your overviews of elektron gear because you do it from the perspective of a musician that actually produces great music! so often the elektron overviews are just technical tweaking and dont always relate well to making great music. I suspect the rytm has a TONNE of new features they could be adding but are purposely extending the life of the platform vs unloading it all at once. Much like they have done for the digitakt. i love the sid machine!
It's 2024... we need stereo 24bit samples and simple usb-based file access to the sample storage. There are also a ton of other esoteric rough edges in the workflow that need to be fixed (not as bad as the octatrack, but close). It's odd that noone else has put out a real competitor to this machine in the past 10 years, but I hope someone does (or we get a meaningful mk3).
the model 1 is sooo huge. I can't understand why TE can build mixers like that in this format but nobody else does cool mixers in let's say the size of an EP-133
Excellent video , are those acoustic engines pure synthesis or do they use a combination of sample and osc ? (to see if they could put them in syntakt)
Great video. Thanks a lot for explaining. Didn't know about this new firmware so far. First thing I will do tomorrow morning is to install it on my Rytm. How do you do the glitchy stuff? Would be nice to see a video about that. Or did you already do one?
its weird, I had one a few years ago and made some cool sounds but ultimately I wasn't using it as much as I thought I would so I sold it, but then I started regretting my decision but the price kept me realistic but now with the new update I sold the Syntakt and bought the Rytm again. Looking forward to diving into it and seeing what comes out.
hello bro how are u? nice videos. Can I recreate kicks like Anyma kicks with this machine?? Im looking for a drum machine for those analog kicks for melodic techno. Thank u
I am friend with the mastering engineer from anyma! Yes you can go close, but those track have a LOT of mixing done. Top of the game, so I guess this could be a start, the rest is lot of knowledge ( I dont have that yet )
thank u, mixer engineer of artist like Anyma recommend not to layer kicks (phase), I want a analog machine to start with a punchy kick (I know about the internal compressor of analog rytm), but ist true, its all about knowledge of mastering and mixing, and also good equipment, Vst kicks sounds boring for me in melodic techno. I dont see much many videos of melodic techno kicks made with analog rytm mkII in youtube :( sorry for my bad english @@OoraMusic
Those crunchy rythmns at the start were really satisfying. The softer late night lighting is nice on this video btw, looks good. Maybe it's just me, but in my brain electronic music and bright daylight don't naturally go together so much.
@@OoraMusicHaha, yes, was in Berlin once in November, was great but weather was tough going. Colder than Manchester, UK even. Had to move to Valencia to get away from that kind of Winter weather because it was affecting my health. But, Berlin was a very different city when I visited in May - fantastic all round. For a while, a good solution we had was breaking out of some of the coldest Northern weeks in January/February to remote parts of Canary Islands (Caleta de Famara), Madeira or Marrakech/Essoura/Atlas mountains. To charge the solar batteries.
Great video. You give me lots of inspiration and new ideas on how to use the Rytm. I’ve paired my mk1 Rytm with push 3 stand-alone. Great combo. 1.7 is is such an improvement.
That is sort of what I do for a living/my job description here at the studio. However we take on private clients and all of our work is contracted. My comments are meant to be positive. However see a number of different roadblocks impeding the performance and delivery. ;-)

did you keep the Machinedrum? I am thinking of selling my MDM and getting a Rytm II which I owned previously, but sold...
The way you describe how to use Page looping has finally help it click for me. I’m going to use this a lot. Nice one!
OS1.70 is 🤯
well coming from the master of rytm, is great to hear!

I’m in the same boat mate it’s such a hard decision but they put AR up by 500 notes where I’m from
Live record in scale mode? Would love to record freestyle melodies
You do explain why it is great. Which I understand.
Could you explain why it is "the greatest" ? Compared to several others maybe.
Thank you!
obviously is my opinion , but I had many drum machine and this one is the one I would recommend to get.

If that is true, well, can't complain :) always Christmas when a new firmware comes out!
If you press shift+LFO you get to the second LFO 😉
omfg 🤪
I wish
You got me! I was super excited, now I feel like a sucker
😇✌
(Peter Griffin accent) You bastard.
thanks F! this update actually made me rebuy the rytm. And i'm gonna buy your pack!
Glad to hear it!

We want the euclidian sequencer and the per page loop functions on the Digitakt and Syntakt as well. Elektron PLEASE!
amazing sound design examples at the end 🖤
Thank you 🙌

A 10 year old machine that’s still hold its value. That’s called perfection
I swear bro you have the best toys…..you must not be married 😊
This sample pack arranged for the rytm is FIRE

they are based on pam samples, like the machinedrume
Best Drummaschine from the 00s
agreed

I did already few videos about that on my Patreon and I think something here few years ago!
Wait i thought it had 2 lfo's ?

I'm also on the edge of selling my Syntakt for a Rytm! Not really liking anything I was able to get out of the Syntakt at all
Mai visto un italiano così in the zone complimenti
Also needs an envelope on the sample layer. Been saying this since mk1 came out.
that would be a great feature
Your Perkons made some sad noises when reading the video title 😄
hahaha :D

$1,900 and you can’t even chop/slice samples on it? 🤦🏽♂️ What about stem separation?
Did he just move out of his studio after all of that?
had to. moved to another one, will talk about that soon.

Better than Machinedrum?
If I had to pick one yes, would pick the rytm
The machinedrum is a good companion, it has the crispy digital sounds and the rytm the deep warm analog sound
Great work! Love your videos!

Thanks 🙏😊

I love the push standalone. Don’t really like it for using with ableton on a computer though.
Great, hoping to do the same. How are you usuing it? Audio in and midi or tracking each channel? I havent yet, but am looking forward to soon. Thanks

Totally disagree with you. He just made a masterful, uncut video that gave us exactly what we all wanted. If anything, Id like him to keep on talking!
