Kautuk's point @1:21:24 about Mr. India being the perfect Indian superhero story, made me think that, we all already have the super power of invisibility. The policy makers in this country can't see the citizens. Citizens themselves can't see other citizens, going by the fact that we just ignore 20 people standing in a queue and try to reach the counter from the side. All the misery and poverty around us is, I guess, invisible, else why would we be so indifferent towards it.

Anika Asad How is copying scene to scene a reference? References are subtle and not so obvious. Sure it is obvious to the viewers who’ve watched the many originals films they “referenced” but I’m sure majority of the viewers had no idea and thought they were watching something original. I was 13 when I watched barfi, I remember feeling so touched by the end scene and thinking “Bollywood is stepping it’s game” only to feel duped after watching The Notebook. Like Kautuk pointed out, where do you even draw the line between copying/stealing and inspiration/referencing/paying homage to. Although IMO this is definitely not “referential”
