    Would you and Gary please talk about all the unique, different types of vegetables plants you all have. Like the mushrooms plant or what unique plant that isn't vegetables or fruit that you can grow to eat. Love hearing about them and their benefits, different ways to eat them, and the benefits to nature's wildlife. Thanks for doing the video.

    Zoe is a treat❤ I cut my last 2 trees "to size" today, on a ladder with a mini chainsaw. Then cut all the stuff into small pieces in the bottom of a big tote, added some grass and weeds and next the kitchen compost bowl. I did 2 large cut off barrels last week and they have dirt on top and are ready for plants. Still too cold here as well, frost warning last night, I don't think it frosted. I only put water dishes out for the bids for now, need warmer weather. Potting and planting is the best remedy!

    Omg Robbie, I started bush beans last month in toilet paper rolls. What was I thinking! Heard it was a great way to start beans cuz you can just transfer the roll n bean plant in the permanent container without stressing the plant. Well, we here in Michigan are having up n down night temps, as well. These beans are getting huge in the rolls, but no way I can transfer them outside yet. Yikes!!!!

    I got the dish pans but need to do holes. I put out pinto beans in the ground and I’m wondering if I should put tulle over them. I saw some big black birds and blue jays. I sprouted them before I put them out. Store bought and they sprouted real fast. I have no help so I can only do a little at a time. Thank you for giving me a purpose in life.

    How did you get the worms in the dish pan? Did you put them in? I'm new at this

    • @Robot_Cajun
      @Robot_Cajun 8 месяцев назад +6

      The worms will find their own way into the pots. I garden in the same 18 gallon Sterilite totes as Robbie and my totes are placed on top of wood pallets stacked 2 high, and worms climb their way into the totes. Once upon a time I also had totes on top of chairs like Robbie has in her chair garden, and worms made their way way into those totes too.

    • @barb8452
      @barb8452 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@Robot_Cajun wow..to me that is amazing. Thank you so much for replying 👍

    • @Robot_Cajun
      @Robot_Cajun 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@barb8452 you’re welcome. I was never exactly sure how the worms moved in and out of the totes, but late last year we had a lot of rain in a short amount of time and I didn’t think to cover my totes to prevent flooding. By the time I checked on them, I saw a poor worm hurrying to get out of a tote by slithering over the top edge. I’d always assumed they moved through the drain holes, but at least in this situation it exited via the top of the container.
      For Robbie in her deck garden, it’s quite possible that she imported worms via her reused soil and/or placed worms in there herself. I don’t know anything about worm anatomy, but it seems like it’d be quite a feat for worms to be able to detect the containers and then climb all the way up from the ground to the deck. Robbie would have to weigh in on that. But I believe she’s said that she doesn’t manually add worms to her other gardens. For my first year container gardening in 2021, all of my soil came from big box store potting mix and I did not import any worms myself. So unless MiracleGro includes worms in their pricey soil 🤣, the worms just find your containers and make themselves at home in your kitchen scraps.
