Oh , my goodness ~ what a grand finale ~ Zoey after dragging her bed outside ! I laughed so hard ! I guess she figured if you weren't going to give your attention all to her , she'd just rest a while & watch you 🤣 Little Stinker !
Would you and Gary please talk about all the unique, different types of vegetables plants you all have. Like the mushrooms plant or what unique plant that isn't vegetables or fruit that you can grow to eat. Love hearing about them and their benefits, different ways to eat them, and the benefits to nature's wildlife. Thanks for doing the video.
Zoe is a treat❤ I cut my last 2 trees "to size" today, on a ladder with a mini chainsaw. Then cut all the stuff into small pieces in the bottom of a big tote, added some grass and weeds and next the kitchen compost bowl. I did 2 large cut off barrels last week and they have dirt on top and are ready for plants. Still too cold here as well, frost warning last night, I don't think it frosted. I only put water dishes out for the bids for now, need warmer weather. Potting and planting is the best remedy!
Omg Robbie, I started bush beans last month in toilet paper rolls. What was I thinking! Heard it was a great way to start beans cuz you can just transfer the roll n bean plant in the permanent container without stressing the plant. Well, we here in Michigan are having up n down night temps, as well. These beans are getting huge in the rolls, but no way I can transfer them outside yet. Yikes!!!!
I would love to see how you set up your little green house! Sure hope you keep feeling better. :-) I'm new to your videos, and I'm loving them. Thanks for sharing your great ideas!
new mexico is also flip flopping with warm temps, then very cold and windy. my pepper plant cant handle it so its been inside. my lettuce and chard is ok.
I bought 2 dishpans from your link when I saw your first video. I planted zucchini from seed and they are growing comfortably in their 2.84 home! Thanks for the idea! And that's been in our cool Ventura weather too.
I got the dish pans but need to do holes. I put out pinto beans in the ground and I’m wondering if I should put tulle over them. I saw some big black birds and blue jays. I sprouted them before I put them out. Store bought and they sprouted real fast. I have no help so I can only do a little at a time. Thank you for giving me a purpose in life.
Hi Connie, that sounds promising for you. Here we’re still swinging back-and-forth and that’s hard on a lot of different plants. Yep I’m better getting there. Thank you.❤
11:38 yes! one of my pea plants is being taken over by snails or slugs but they've left the other container of peas alone! 🧐🫛 thankfully. I planted others around the yard also, glad you're getting better! you sound way better, your garden looks great, 🌱🫛🍅 thank you for the awesome video! - Nina zone 10a central coast Cali💪🥔🧅🍗💜 12:44 it is so fun to learn thanks for pointing that out! my garden is also showing signs of life! 👏🤩
Set some saucers or plastic lids around on the soil with some cheap beer in them . The snails & slugs cannot resist the yeast in the beer , will crawl in & die !!! IT REALLY WORKS ! What a way to go !😂
so simple, so awesome. A tip for people with power tools... you can buy a 2x4 post and rip 1x1 strips from that to make easy stakes for plants. So very cheap!
Thanks Robbie, could Zoe be any cuter?🐾 Can’t believe she was able to drag her big bed outside 😂 So, we are already into the 90’s in Tucson, Arizona. I can’t believe it happens so soon. I’m getting my seedlings out quickly. Using your methods to give them shade.🌵✨🐾✨🌹✨🐣✨🐝✨🫘
I plan to use those in the garden like you do when I get my garden going in the totes however right now I'm using them to store my onions apples sweet potatoes Etc in because I don't have much in the way of cupboards and drawers in the kitchen. And they work quite well and have many uses as we both have found out. I have followed you for years and I appreciate your knowledge and teaching me how to garden in totes etc.❤
Robbie isn’t it so unusual to have this much cloud cover in southern California? I use to fly there each many times a month and it was never cloudy and gloomy ! Except in June, for the June gloom ! I don’t get it ! Feel better and please eat what you grow ! 😂😂! Thx Robbie ❤
You sound so much better and even look good. So glad your getting better. Your deck diesnt look bad. Love everything thats growing for you. We are starting to get some more frost and freezes here in Pa.😢. Just glad my potatoes onions garlic are in griw bags and containers. My peas are in raised beds but they finally just started . Zoe looked si cute stainding there with here bed and just looking at you like what.
Ive been composting all winter im ready to till it into the garden i was shock to see all the worms we have clay but the compost has really made a difference. Thank you for inspiring me to compost! oh by the way orioles arrived today. Yeah hello from Tecumseh Mi.
So happy that you're feeling better. We had a beautiful warm week here in Southern Oregon, so I've been starting seeds and getting excited too for warmer nights . Your deck looks beautiful. Happy Gardening!
Really, your balcony isn’t a mess. It looks like there are some interesting projects going on. My friend told me I need to sweep my patio because it’s starting to look like a forest floor 😂😂 So relieved when you showed your celery - mine looks just like it, so I know I’m on the right track. The leaves are really bitter though, so I’m wondering when are they ready to be harvested? Glad to hear you’re on the mend - I hope you get sunny days so you can soak up all that vitamin D!
The worms will find their own way into the pots. I garden in the same 18 gallon Sterilite totes as Robbie and my totes are placed on top of wood pallets stacked 2 high, and worms climb their way into the totes. Once upon a time I also had totes on top of chairs like Robbie has in her chair garden, and worms made their way way into those totes too.
@@barb8452 you’re welcome. I was never exactly sure how the worms moved in and out of the totes, but late last year we had a lot of rain in a short amount of time and I didn’t think to cover my totes to prevent flooding. By the time I checked on them, I saw a poor worm hurrying to get out of a tote by slithering over the top edge. I’d always assumed they moved through the drain holes, but at least in this situation it exited via the top of the container. For Robbie in her deck garden, it’s quite possible that she imported worms via her reused soil and/or placed worms in there herself. I don’t know anything about worm anatomy, but it seems like it’d be quite a feat for worms to be able to detect the containers and then climb all the way up from the ground to the deck. Robbie would have to weigh in on that. But I believe she’s said that she doesn’t manually add worms to her other gardens. For my first year container gardening in 2021, all of my soil came from big box store potting mix and I did not import any worms myself. So unless MiracleGro includes worms in their pricey soil 🤣, the worms just find your containers and make themselves at home in your kitchen scraps.
Robbie, sorry to keep bugging you about your cough but, I cough all the time to and use "Ludens cough drops". They're cheap and they work! I get the cherry and watermelon! Yum ❤. Glad you almost well.
Yesterday we had 86 degree and it was hot! (The day before was in the mid 70s.) All my plants suffered. I had to water in the evening to save them somewhat. Today, 68 degree. It is like sauna for my poor plants 😢
Hi Robbie I have been sick. I don't know pollen or what. But hubby thinks your deck is bigger than 8 ft. Out from your sliding door. Do you think it could be extended out 12 ft. Or so ? He is ready to start our deck and wanted me to ask you again. Thank you so much. 😊❤ HI Zoe ❤
I’m not sure what you’re asking, I don’t believe I’ve got any metal garbage cans. I do have plastic garbage cans and I do grow in those from the dollar tree. Now on the mesh trash bins, I made stands out of those to grow in. ❤
Hi Robbie, I have zucchini in pots but they’re not growing fast enough and I’m afraid the slugs will get to it 😔 they already ate one. What should I do to make it grow? Thanks for your advice ♥️👍😊👩🌾
Good morning Robbie, it's Esther from Victorville. Sorry so early but I'm in Oklahoma and saw this video. Are those totes big enough for the mature zucchini or do we have to transplant later?? Love your stuff!
The microbes will still work for you, so don’t worry about it. Earthworms will either find their way in or you can go look under damp rocks or anything on the ground lift it up and grab some soil from there and toss it in.
Yes what did you eat?? Love this channel Robbie and Zoe 💜🌷🌺🌺
