Hi Maria, I think it will give you that extra boost for those few plants that have issues, most certainly worth a try. Too many liquids plant fertilizers are made from synthetically created chemicals now a days, and people do not realize the impact as far as pollution created to make it, even the ones called ‘natural’…. Anyway, if I want to use something, why not a ‘food’ or product gentle enough for a New Born baby. Hope you can get some expired cans, that would be perfect. If you end up buying a can, get the cheapest brand, all are inspected and are perfect to use. I was thinking about your cat, but that is great. Still keep it under the soil, this is really for those microbes and any earthworms, that keeps them super happy which in turn makes your plants happy. And still continue to use kitchen scraps and any plant matter as usual when setting up your containers. This is only an extra boost. And again, Thank You for the Super Thanks 😊 ❤️💕 You take care!!! Thank You ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊
And remember, you now have earthworms in some of your soil, and microbes which you always had, plant fertilizer is NOT for your living soil, that is, your worms and microbes do not feed on fertilizer, this is not food in any way for them, it is only designed for plants, and in fact I heard that if something is put in your soil, and your earthworms aren’t happy they will leave. A worm farmer said that. There are no earthworms in store bought soil, they can not live in that, they needed real plant matter before it is broken down into compost, that is where the added leaves and food scraps come in, which you know. So keep that in mind. Personally I like real Living Soil, earth worms, microbes, whatever tiny critters break down the compost into soil 😊❤️
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Oh Robbie ❣️🌟❣️ I need to give you an update 🤗 And I'm so so happy 😊 Unfortunately no one in the church had any leftover formula so on Monday I went to the super market and bought a small size formula the cheaper I've found. I just read that milk / and rotten milk can aid in plant health. Very Interesting and all these years I’ve been dumping out my rotten milk. Now it’s going in my garden 🪴
I have a whole unopened can that just expired last week. I was so sad I couldn't find anyone who needed it before it expired because it is a specialty one and hardly anyone uses it. Holy moly! I now have a use for it! I can't thank you enough for this!!!!!!
Hi Robbie, I AM from Australia, but not the person you mentioned. I live in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. The weather here is hot, hotter and hotterer! Because of the heat, we don't have a long growing season. I have several raised beds, but as age catches up with me, they're proving more difficult to maintain. I watched your video with the tote boxes and loved it. I have to say, your videos are so refreshing. Most gardening videos take so long to get to the point that I lose interest and that's the end of it for me. But you, you keep it interesting and up beat. Such a joy to listen to you, I feel so motivated now! Good work!!
Wow Robbie, my granddaughter just went off formula and I have some left over that I was going to throw away. I’m keeping it now! Thank you for sharing wonderful Robbie!
Robbie, I have to tell you that you have changed my life. I am a farmer’s daughter, and I thought I knew a fair amount, enough to keep my backyard garden going. I knew nothing, but you have made me a smarter person. I have adopted your container, compost technique and have my daughter-in-law, saving all of her chopped kitchen scraps for me. Your baby formula idea is very interesting, I have a couple of sick plants that I’m loathe to give up on and now I’m going to see if that little trick works. I have also made a turkey, baster, hummingbird fountain, even though I have no hummingbirds. It sits beside my chair in the backyard and is very soothing. I wish I could show you what it looks like. ❤ thank you
We all live and learn as long as we keep an open mind to do so. I am so glad I could give you new ideas to make your garden grow and thrive ❤️😊💕 hope this trick will work on your struggling plants, it does wonders here, 2 zucchini plants looked to be on their way out, put this morning both were bursting into new growth with fruit starting too 😊 Hope some birds find your turkey baster fountain soon ❤️ Thank you for your wonderful message 💕 You have a great day ❤️
This recipe sounds reasonable enough to me, Robbie. We're experiencing too many downpours...even hail as well as partly cloudy & humid days. We're under Flood Watch in some areas & the mosquitoes have taken over even though I had Orkin fog my yards. I have 2 Enfamil liquid bottles that expired in April. My dogs are getting older, so I have some on hand in case they won't eat or I need to mix it with organic pumpkin when they have tummy issues. I appreciate everything I've learned from Gary & you. My Passion Flower is climbing like its own version of Jack and the Beanstalk. And to think she survived 4 yrs. & 4 days in a Solo-type cup for that long. Besides my dogs, she's my pride & joy. Much love & blessings, ~ Covah
Oh, I hope your weather gets better, ours is just starting to warm up a bit so hopefully my powdery mildew will go away soon. Sorry on the mosquitoes, that is why I switched for catching water form my totes, to setting up flower pots instead. Great on your Passion Flower! Smart on you for keeping Enfamil for your dogs. I have saved so many animals on infant formula, where other Products had issues, never with Infant Formula. Gary’s first Heeler almost made it to 20 years old, and it was infant formula that kept him alive and healthy as he aged and ate less food, it was easy to digest and get all the nutrients he needed in a food type product. Well, you take care, hope the weather improves fast. Thanks 😊 ❤️
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Thanks Robbie. We're water-bogged today, at least we missed the hail. I heard another bridge was taken out though. It'll be a yr. soon since the bridge in Gardiner broke. I was wondering if you could keep me in your prayers...it would mean a lot, mostly for Grymm & Zarina. My 6 yrs. of sleep deprivation has left me with Petit Mal Seizures. We're doing 2 MRIs' on Wed. to see how bad my brain's damaged & also to look for any tumors. Hugs, ~ Covah
Robbie my daughter have baby formula and she gave me the enfamil that she was going to give it to her friend but it expired in two months so I’m going to use it now for my zucchini and tomatoes and others ♥️👍🙏🏻 thank you so much I’m excited to reboost my vegetables back their energy. ♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻😊👩🌾
Most of my bin and container plants are doing well. I have a few of the layered containers that are okay but not as robust as the ones directly in the bins. I’m going to try this. 💚
Thank you Robbie for sharing your great ideas. I have a granddaughter who’s 8 month and some times she doesn’t finish her formula so I guess I’ll tell my daughter in law to save me the leftovers. 😅
I finally found some from a person when it was close to expiring. I used it all over because things were struggling from the heat and perked them right up over night. Thank you for the info.
This is a brilliant suggestion, Robbie. I want you to know that for the past 3 years i have been following advice that you and Gary share, and my daughter and I have been eating daily from our garden, with plenty to share with family, friends and neighbors. Thank you so much and keep being you! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
I have a great grand baby and I am sure my granddaughter wouldn't mind giving me some if I need it. So far, my plants are really producing. I have given cucumbers and squash to my mom and mother-in-law. Thank you for sharing this tip! 😊❤❤😊
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and explaining everything so thoroughly, especially when you demonstrate how you do it with your own plants. I love your personality and your big heart ❤
One year had my tiny garden all set up. Then a deluge of rain came lasting about every other day for about 3 weeks. I also acquired blossom end rot. I added powdered milk wit some that only had about 2 weeks before use by date. It helped a lot.
Great idea. Sounds like a good idea to keep a container on hand for those special occasions plants need a boost. Thank you Robbie! 👍🏻♥️ Dang, I just checked Walmart online. I had NO idea how expensive the formula is now days! I feel bad for parents trying to afford formula. These are crazy pants times indeed!
Thank you for the tip. I haven't thought of baby formula as superfood for plants. And here I thought your secret was something taboo. I use other stuff that are making people more squeamish than that. But it's useful info to keep in the back of my mind. You're making me think what could be the active components in baby formula that are boosting plants to much. Out of my head, I immediately think that of course, calcium helps blossom rots and strong cell walls. Natural sugar would make microbes and worms and bacteria go crazy. Proteins and amino acids are indeed boosters for the micro-organisms. It makes sense. Will have to look at the percentage of potassium and phosphorus and other trace elements in baby formula.
I am a RN in NICU. Rarely, we have some formula expire. We try to rotate etc, but occasionally we do + have to dispose it. I will spread the word + ask to save some for my plants. I appreciate your info + being cautionary about not depleting the market! I have twin grand daughters- we had to really search for their formula last year after the recall. Wonder if it will help my heat stressed zucchini + Cucumbers. I put up flags etc. to try + shade them + am giving more water. Is it normal to have many, many male flowers + no female? Even my happy ones don't have females.
it makes sense...I've run across tomato fertilizing formulas that use 1/2 cup dried milk. I'll look for exp cans & leave the good stuff for the babies :) Thank you for sharing it!
Very hot here. 102 today. No rain in sight. But we did put up a shade screen. Yes the sides of the totes were baking; now with shade, the plants seem to be doing better!
Thanks! I haven't tried the baby formula, but I do have a different climate than you. My zuccs are still not doing well. more info: temps have been 80's, two plants direct sow, I buried kitchen scraps over winter, been using fish fertilizer and watering twice dailyish.
Thank you. Thankfully, most of my plants are doing well. However, the cantaloupe is not growing. It sprouted and "holding..." I am looking forward to trying this. I greatly appreciate any and all the advice you and Gary provide.
I started watching late and this is funny because I actually decided to dump some of my granddaughter's infant formula that she isn't using anymore as she is on table food now. I figured, ehh, why not?? I confess I just added some in. Not a whole can, but I admit I didn't measure and just scooped it. I'm going to slow down as I still have an almost full container. I added it to my tomato plants.
Robbie when are you going to plant pineapples, I yet to see you grow them. I see people from Australia and Hawaii growing them, but I prefer to see you, you are my inspiration to keep gardening and not only to garden but to attract more hummingbirds, I found a birdbath on the road, so guess what I’m gonna paint it and give my solar fountain more height. Hhhmmmm thanks to you my garden Queen. Hail to you applause applause 👏
Gary grew some pineapples once from the top of a pineapples. Right now I’ve been working on dragon fruit, and things I just happen to love. Maybe I will do a pineapple one day soon. Have fun with your solar fountain. It sounds like it’s gonna be wonderful, thank you so much.
I just looked up the ingredients in Enfamil. It lists two prebiotics. Maybe that could be the magic plant growth ingredient. Lactose, which is milk sugar, is one of the first ingredients listed. Soluble seaweed fertilizer has been my magic ingredient so far.
I just started a new batch of Kobucha, and added the oldest part of the scoby to my in bed compost pitcher and topped with some mulch - nice probiotic boost!
Great suggestion. I used liquid vitamins mixed in water and WOW the plants got very dark green and started to grow like crazy. Maybe it is the vitamin's in the formula!! Thanks to the info.
I do leftover protein shake that I don't drink down to the bottom of the container, the shake comes in. Doesn't always mix well. Since I'm on a high protein diet, do health issues. I only add this to soil or the pitcher method Robbie does. Some get added to my worm bin. I add the shake when cool out and at night so it doesn't spoild and the plants have to use time to its up. Disclaimer this wouldn't work, everyone. So please don't do this if your plants or soil doesn't need help. What Robbie said for the same reason, i use protein shake, and this won't work for everything. It just works to ensure your plants are healthy. It wouldn't fix the curling leaves. Might help with some yellowing leaves. Thanks again, Robbie, for this video.
Okay, have to admit I thought it was going to be an illegal substance 😂😂 I can definitely see why you waited until the shortage was over, even if people can use expired formula for this type of project. It certainly looks like a superfood. Looking forward to trying it out next planting season! Thanks for the info!! Enjoy your weekend ~
I will also use a plastic container with compost, baby formula and water. Robbie when you put holes in the container is it to water the plants or just to keep them healthy and vigorous.
The holes are for whatever you want them to do, the holes where the water comes out, can lead into another pot underneath or a bucket of sorts, or if not, it can go on the ground but your containers do need holes to keep your plants well, drained and healthy
I lve u lots 🎊. I don't have worms here in my land. But i have baby goat milk i bought for 2 starving 4 week old puppies we found abandoned. They now weigh 65 lbs ..3 years old. Lve of my life. God bless all, because i still do not have a zucchini 😢😢🎉
I have a squash/pumpkin in a container that was doing fabulous. Now it looks sad. (DIL has some old baby formula, but she has other plans for it.) :( I do have some manure tea, I will give it some of that tonight.
Robbie would whole milk & or Ensure be good for plants, i have some that soured and didnt want to waste it? Thank you!! You have helped me so much! I am doing compost in place, container/tote/pots& buckets& have a few raised beds,Im also using milk crates and laundry baskets with cardboard blocking the big holes to hold the dirt in but still have drainage trying everything! Also square foot 🏡 ng in the raised beds, i think i planted too many plants in my totes last year ! Its all been a science project seeing what i cant kill! Im hoping for healthier plants this year im in s mobile home park and not allowed to plant anything else in the ground it has to be raised beds or containers now, their ground is clay & doenst drain , it floods when it rains anyways hoping to be eating what i grow this year!
Thank you for the video. Can I use this as my garden is planted in the ground. I have two fences around the garden so nothing can get in. I do have two tubs I have planted thanks to you.
It’s probably the HMO that’s in it. Human Milk Oliosaccharide. It’s a prebiotic and the microbes in our body love it too. They realize babies need it for gut health. I have a jar from Layer Origin (for myself). I’ll try it on my plants.
You got it!!! ❤️😊 Some has to do with the prebiotics that the microbes like, same found in cruciferous vegetation (brassicaceae) and legumes. Collard compost tea I make…😊 which the plants love too ❤️
I love your channel and I have implemented a few of your ideas. I can relate to the 2 system and have set it up but our area is wet and the slugs are having a field day. Now there's the Asian Jumping worms trying to destroy my plants! What do you think about these invasive jumping worms?
Just curious what is in the formula that is helping the vegetable plants recover and grow ? Formula is basically powered milk, fortified with vitamins.
Did I miss it? How did you figure this out????? Just for satisfying my curiosity I need to try this! Going to post on freecycle and see if someone has leftover😂
No, you didn’t miss it, I was using it for other certain animals at some point, which saved their lives, and When I had extra, I start pouring it in the garden and that’s when I saw growth take off from the plants 😊
New to this channel/ name . I have an in ground garden, I’m a little hesitant about using but I’m going to try it on one plant. I don’t know how to do a pitcher, two- system or compost in place . Do you have videos on these systems?
You can find many videos on Compost in place on the channel but the pitchers is here: ruclips.net/video/Ik1kg0eq724/видео.html If you search for compost in place you will find more videos in the channel ❣️
I was wondering if dried or plain cooked lentils or beans crushed to a powder would also be feasible, for that??? Of course the plain cooked could be mashed an dried……? Of course it doesn’t have any sweetness in them and may be not as much nutrients, and the liquid of the cooking of these legumes may be helpful.
Well I guessed wrong when you said most regulated... When did formula pass booze in the most regulated department? There are whole countries that forbid alcohol.
Oh my God Robbie 👏👏👏
That's a very helpful formula ❣️❣️❣️

I will not have any trouble using it❣️
And I can get some for free if I ask from some people in the church who have babies to give me any expired formula if they have 🤗
I have some issues with my zucchinis and some of my tomatoes us I told you and yes I believe that it will work for me too❣️
And this is so perfect cause those liquid organic fertilizers are sooo expensive Robbie 😤 I went last week to the flower shop to buy some flowers for the church and I saw a liquid fertilizer that was calcium 15euros per litre 😲 soooo expensive... especially the liquid fertilizers 😤
This formula can last for a year 👏👏👏 and in nowadays all fertilizers and soil can be so expensive 😤
This is a very clever way to give our plants a booster without spending a lot of money 👏👏👏
First I will ask if someone in the church have any formula that don't use and if not I will go buy one from the market. I will use it and let you know how my plants reacted ❣️❣️❣️

Is this the same idea as using powered milk only with something that has more nutrients in it?
Powered milk is no where as good and not the same thing. But if you have l old milk you can use it in a two system.

Robbie, last summer I used outdated, spoiled goat milk, half with water. Omg no blossom end rot and my tomatoes and cukes pruduced awesomely!
Hmmm... I have spoiled cow's milk in the fridge.... would you use that in the garden? New gardener here...
Blossom end rot is caused by a lack of calcium, so maybe the milk supplied that.

Great idea. Sounds like a good idea to keep a container on hand for those special occasions plants need a boost. Thank you Robbie! 👍🏻♥️
Dang, I just checked Walmart online. I had NO idea how expensive the formula is now days! I feel bad for parents trying to afford formula. These are crazy pants times indeed!
GREAT INFO. ROBBIE, YES IF THE STORE IS GOING TO THROW IT OUT. FEED OUR DESPERATE PLANTS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. ❤ LOVE YOU ❤
Thank you for the tip.
I had only male flowers this summer as well. Very frustrating.
it makes sense...I've run across tomato fertilizing formulas that use 1/2 cup dried milk. I'll look for exp cans & leave the good stuff for the babies :) Thank you for sharing it!
Exactly try to get the expired or closest to expired that you can leave the rest for the babies ✌️❤️🫵
Very hot here. 102 today. No rain in sight. But we did put up a shade screen. Yes the sides of the totes were baking; now with shade, the plants seem to be doing better!
Perfect ❤
Wow .... makes total sense....
You and Gary are awesome
Thank you 😊❤
Thanks! I will look for some powder on sale.
I'm already using your pitcher trick in one of my growing pots.
Not sure what your nighttime temps are, but that could be weather, maybe too cool (?)
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy nights have been in the mid to high 60's. Oddly, the watermelons are doing really well. It is worth trying at least.
You have so many tricks up your sleeves Robbie😂
🦋☀️💕🌈
I'm definitely going to do try this Robbie...Thank you 🌱🤗
I started watching late and this is funny because I actually decided to dump some of my granddaughter's infant formula that she isn't using anymore as she is on table food now. I figured, ehh, why not?? I confess I just added some in. Not a whole can, but I admit I didn't measure and just scooped it. I'm going to slow down as I still have an almost full container. I added it to my tomato plants.
PERFECT! Now you can grow great food for Your Granddaughter with her old infant formula, LOL
I’m definitely going to try this.
Ive used puppy milk replacer in the same way and it works great..
Great!
Thanks for this! I have some cat formula replacement that we didn't need anymore I will try it.
@@vngudes it should do wonderfully..
Don't you need a lactase enzyme to break down lactose into a form that fuels metabolism? There's a lot that I don't understand.
I wonder if using a crushed nori wrap would work
Great suggestion. I used liquid vitamins mixed in water and WOW the plants got very dark green and started to grow like crazy. Maybe it is the vitamin's in the formula!! Thanks to the info.
Surprised!! Wow?!🤔🫨
Love it 😊
I’ve been looking at Electroculture, I will try this. Thank you Robbie!❤
Brilliantly done ❤️
Thank you 😊
I love making and using compost tea the most!! I'm on a strict budget in the summer so I don't like buying the fertilizer anymore.
It all make sense thank you for sharing this
You are so welcome ❤
I love all your tricks
Thanks again, Robbie, for this video.
amazing information!! I'd never thought of that myself
Wow. I've been so excited for this video. Thanks so much and going to give it a go.
Thank u.. my cucumbers , sweet potatoes . Squash doing terrible..snd dom pepper plants ..will try it 🤗🤗
Gonna try this for a couple of plants.
Thank you for your help.
Great, thank you 😊
Its the minerals in it that help plants
i will be trying this in my garden!
Thanks for sharing:)
My pleasure 😊
Okay, have to admit I thought it was going to be an illegal substance 😂😂 I can definitely see why you waited until the shortage was over, even if people can use expired formula for this type of project. It certainly looks like a superfood. Looking forward to trying it out next planting season! Thanks for the info!! Enjoy your weekend ~
It works great, be sure to use it in some sort of container
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Will do - thx!!
I thought so too.
You have our interest peeked...Barbara from Nc
Wow how amazing!
Great information noted 📝 ❤
My squash plants are very tuff after cooking. I’ve tried different types of seeds. Last year it was the same thing.
🤔 I have some inherited Boost . Guess I'm watering the garden with vanilla...
That is awesome on your fur baby ❤😊 make sure your zucchini are being pollinated first and make sure they have enough nutrients in the soil 😊
I have a squash/pumpkin in a container that was doing fabulous. Now it looks sad. (DIL has some old baby formula, but she has other plans for it.) :( I do have some manure tea, I will give it some of that tonight.
Thank you so much!
Robbie thank you so much for this amazing information on infant formula for your bad looking plants🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for this great tip. I have a lot of flowers & was wondering if it is good for flowers?
Thank you for sharing Robbie, I will on the hunt for expired formula.
We have horrible sandy soil, if you would do a video on how to boost that into good healthy soil I would be forever in your debt. 😊
Collard compost tea I make…😊 which the plants love too ❤️
Hmmm. Do you think kitten formula would work as well?
😊💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓😊😁...THANK YOU!!!
I love your channel and I have implemented a few of your ideas. I can relate to the 2 system and have set it up but our area is wet and the slugs are having a field day. Now there's the Asian Jumping worms trying to destroy my plants! What do you think about these invasive jumping worms?
When you use the baby formula do you put food scape or anything with it?
Just curious what is in the formula that is helping the vegetable plants recover and grow ? Formula is basically powered milk, fortified with vitamins.
Any infant formula, this way I know there’s no odd additives in it, and the earthworms love it
Maybe it's the calcium that the plants love..
I wouldn't wanna take from babies if the supply is short , but I have some powdered formula for kittens.....
Interesting
😊 thanks
Cool!👍💕
That end though
infant formula thank you
Great job 😊
New to this channel/ name . I have an in ground garden, I’m a little hesitant about using but I’m going to try it on one plant. I don’t know how to do a pitcher, two- system or compost in place . Do you have videos on these systems?
You can find many videos on Compost in place on the channel but the pitchers is here:
ruclips.net/video/Ik1kg0eq724/видео.html
If you search for compost in place you will find more videos in the channel ❣️
Thank you so much Robbie!! I have colostrum capsules, will those work like the formula? Weird question I’m sure, but had to ask!
It should. Formula is made to copy breast milk
No matter I Would compost lentils and beans in any form😊
I have a tomato plant that looks really bad, I will let you know if it works for it🥰🥰🥰
Interesting, I have parrot formula since I breed parrots curious if that would do the same as reg formula... gonna try it.
If you had an 8x4 raised bed, how many of those little 4-inch holes would you dig to add the product? Thank you!
Does it work on regular plants? Not vegetables?
I wonder if they have organic? Do they?
Robbie why not use your Moringa leaves etc instead. It’s free and have soooo many vitamins and minerals?😊
Well I guessed wrong when you said most regulated... When did formula pass booze in the most regulated department? There are whole countries that forbid alcohol.
Would this draw some good micro organism activity into the compost pile?
Oh yes very much so, but you would not want it to be exposed, because it could draw in mice, unless you don’t care
@@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy, great thanks! Good point.
Hi Robbie. I can get some free LIQUID baby formula. Will this work too? Should I apply it the same way as the powder?
Can it be non gmo organic infant formula?
I just bet you a flintstone vitamin or some V8 would work just as well...
Robbie my cucumber plants are really full of flower but I don’t see any fruit! Do you know what is wrong ?
Hi Robbie , I got gelatine at home which had expired can I use it as plant Fertiliser?
