    The OG Divers such as myself will say its a feature. In HD1 you had an original model shotgun that required you to chamber reload after each shot. (the magazine wasn´t drained same as SG8-Punisher and SG8-Slugger). That´s where that gimmick comes from and its intentional.

      @@ufuk5872 tbh i wish i could make the punisher load shot by shot like in HD1. it feels unnatural otherwise 😖 i mean would people really complain in a game like this if they made you hit reload for each shot on 2 specific guns… actually the newbies probably would 😂

    Is there anything interesting about the diligence rifles? I never use them so I’m curious.

      The regular diligence can be alright against the automatons if you aim carefully. It oneshots small dudes and two shots devastators. It does a pretty bad job dealing with berserkers though, so rely on nades and friends for that. The countersniper is better at range, I think it oneshots devastators too, but it handles like a bus.
      Against Terminids they're rather underwhelming, having neither the stopping power or the ammo capacity to deal with most enemies, but it does alright for sniping the enemies defending POIs without them calling for help.

      They're kinda trash but can be useful paired with a jump pack, another questionable loadout choice, but its a noticably better weapon when you physically cannot be overran by chaff and other unimportant enemies cuz you're ontop of a rock. Dont solo with this weapon ever.

    The only issue with this trick is that your reticle hides and the gun will shoot more to the up and right if you shoot white its in the animation

      Yep. This was on HD1 as well, and a similar concept applies. Some weapons would have their muzzle pointed slightly sideways immediately after a reload, but you can account for this deviation and use it effectively.
      This trick was most commonly used with the Punisher shotgun, or the Bolt action commemorative rifle, since they are loaded one round at a time. The downtime between shots and the time it took to load one round was roughly the same, so loading as you fire was a good technique

      You can turn on "always visible" for your reticle, this works while sprinting and running as well. Extremely useful

      That only makes sense to me, you did just use one of your hands to chamber a shell instead of keeping your aim steady

    also if you reload as soon as you fire, almost pressing the button at the same time, the pump animation cancels the reload animation, making it a instant reload

    There is a glitch with the flamethrower that happened with me. When you reload and hold down the fire button, the new clip is immediately wasted and you begin reloading again. Idk if it was just me or it’s a bug for other people but I haven’t been able to duplicate it again

      had this happen to me a couple times as well, it'll also just keep reloading you until you're out of canisters. swapping weapons fixes it at least, but it's hard to tell the bug is active until it's already wasted a mag

    But isn't the fire rate slightly slower which offsets the perceived reload downtime reduction? This video doesn't show enough proof that it effects total time to emtpy reserves. You would have to do a test with both and time how long it takes to empty reserves to see if there is actual benefit. Reloading all at once has a shorter animation due to the gun being already in reloading position and feeding the shells is a continuous animation (unsure if this effects total reload time).

      Edit: I think the "instant reload" is more a reference to you "instantly starting to reload" rather than it does it faster... so
      The benefit is that you basically have 0 downtime, with how hard this gun hits and its stagger you can kinda keep "anything" away from you as long as you have ammo left. If you fire slightly faster but get stuck with seconds of reload time that is seconds of time enemies can act without you interrupting them.
      Most people will back away from a river of bugs because while they can gun down several of them they know that they do not want to be anywhere close to them when the reload hits. With a Slugger you can often walk forward while shooting wading your way through them because as long as they do not replace each other faster than you can fire, you are fine since even the tougher mid size enemies get staggered and pushed back as you shoot them.

      the biggest difference I see here is you won't ever be stuck reloading a whole mag with this trickload.
      personally I think the couple milliseconds of extra time between each shot is worth never having to worry about dying mid reload

    Always top off. It's the only mag type in the game that lets you just top off your magazine, and doesn't waste anything!

    I used this in black ops zombies with sleight of hand and the china lake. It shot like 2x as fast and never had to reolad.

    also with other guns if you leave a bullet in the chamber and dont empty your gun completely you reload faster
    because you dont get the animation for loading a bullet into the chamber

      It doesn't have a clip. You load the shell one by one.

      The Punisher, Slugger and Senator all reload single rounds instead of a magazine, so they don't waste ammo on early reloads.

    this works for the autocannon as well, if you reload after half the magazine is depleted, you will only load one clip instead of two, halving the time that you are crouched and vulnerable.

    This doesn't improve the fire rate though, right? I mean if you added up the time it takes to fire, reload, and fire all the ammo wouldn't it still be the same amount of time with either method?
    Seems like it needs a lot of focus and a noticeable reduction in effective fire rate just to avoid downtimes when the game is structured to give you the downtime you need between encounters and waves. I can see this maybe being effective if you're being overrun but then you wouldn't be standing still very long to fire anyway and could reload while you move.

      Probably results in higher rpm because downtime spent between shots is spent reloading.
      you use the time twice, basically.

      What do you mean? You just manually reload instantly after every shot. That's literally it.

    I feel like min/maxing at this level is unnecessary unless you're out of lives and in a tough bind.
