Summary here Sound signature : Harman tuned obviously, but there are few but minor differences. Mid range forward than the OG but less bassy in short. Now got slightly forward mid range, vocals are slightly more forward and pronounced. Slightly detailed and forward treble. Recessed low end in both sub bass and mid bass quantity. Now a bit tighter, but less punchy and enioyable as from a bass head perspective. Sub bass goes a bit deeper but less in quantity. Drums are more pronounced on the OG and it is more enjoyable. OG got a nice balance with the low end. With the Pro version, the low end seems underwhelming. Power requirement is almost similar though the impedence is higher now. (Requires more power than the Bass version) Technical department: Technical performance difference is pretty minimal. Harman OG is a great performer and I don’t find a reason to upgrade to the Pro for better technicalities. Clarity and details are slightly improved but soundstage, imaging, separation and layering are almost similar. Tone and colour remains the same. Natural sounding. Build quality and size : Build quality remains the same but size increase same as the Castor pro Bass. All the tweaks are similar to the Castor Pro bass. I don’t find a major reason to upgrade from the OG Harman. Build quality differences : Now the Pro version is bigger in almost every dimension. Just slightly less chunkier than the OG. Nozzle diameter is at 6.3mm (6mm previous) and the weight is now 9.3g (8.5g previous) If you already own the Castor Harman version, there is no need to upgrade. But still this is an amazing value set and I highly recommend.
I already have the og Harman version so I'm glad I don't have to feel like I'm missing out by giving the new ones a skip. 😅 I generally crave more bass, anyway but it's nice to have a variety of iems that offer different sound signatures within my personal range of comfort and tolerance. 🙂 Thank you for another great review and comparison! 👍

They both have big sound stages and incredible detail and separation especially for the price . (I'm not sure if enhanced bass is the right word , but the bass is definitely there . I'd go so far as to say the IB is a basshead iem that an audiophile might like .)
This is a replacement for OG. Due to the OG is cutoff in my place. I do own them but my KZ Tri-Brid Frankenstein 2DD+1BA+2 Micro Planar IEM is my project build and loved it(my broken KZ Krila-1BA and KZ Castor Pro-2DD, my broken Phoenixcall-2 Micro Planars, I like it). On my first listen to Castor Pro Harman, it is no more fatiguing than to the OG. Bass on the Pro is a lot more controlled and punchy. Mids is similar to OG, Treble is slightly improved than the OG. Air is a lot more toned down than OG(Maybe the Divius Tips).

They should work on reducing the damn size, I have the castor black and it's so bulky and heavy. An IEM like the castor in a truthear hola form factor would be something I'd actually purchase.
That's true. The way they use the 2DDs makes the body bulky. Fit and comfort is definitely a main factor to consider, mainly for the ones who have smaller ears.

They are different. If you want more energetic sound, get the Wan'er. Between the OG castor harman and new Pro, i recommend the OG. Between the OG harman and Wan'er, it will totally depend on your preference. Both are great choices. Castor is more balanced and technical. Wan'er is more fun and less technical.

It will depend on your preference. If you are a bass head, get the bass verison. Pro and old one both are great. But, if you love more details and clarity, do not have treble sensitivity issues, get the Harman version.

Harman version is great for both FPS and single person games. It delivers insane value for the asking price. I recommend the old one over the Pro version when comes to the Harman variant. My knowledge about DACs is pretty low at the moment. So, i can't do a recommendation for you, sorry.

Actually my knowledge about thr ones over $100 is pretty low, so i can't make a clear statement about it. From my experience, 20-100 range doesn't have a big difference, main differences happen in the technical department. I have more enjoyable $20 sets than the $100 ones. It will totally depend on your personal preference. I recommend you to stick with the $50 range. But you have to research more form other reviewers about the more expensive ones. Performer 5 is well praised and their Explorer is a big recommend for the other reviewers. Sorry that i can't help clearly here.

I think the switches on the Harman are the same as the bass version, 1-2 for low and 3-4 for mid and treble.

Get the improved bass version of the Pro. It finds the best balance. Harman version lacks the low end.
