    I could have suggested you a few things from fortnum and mason I go there a lot.
    The Christmas edible coal is a family tradition. We are a big fan of their coffee and biscuits are really good too. But for me I always have to get the icy mints.

      Thanks! I always get a few varieties of biscuits while I'm there, and I picked up some tea as well (I don't drink coffee). I'll keep an eye out for the other things you mentioned next time, thanks! (I also love their fudge, the marzipan is good and, well, most things I've had there are pretty great!)

    If you get the chance, go to Borough Market and get a sausage roll from The Ginger Pig

      We did! (as well as food from a few other places there) Hopefully I'll have a video on that soon, too!

    I like the mini scotch eggs. I eat them cold, like with party food or picky bits

    • @LouieDoesaThing
      @LouieDoesaThing  9 месяцев назад

      Are they made with quail's eggs or how do they get them to be mini?

    When I grew up in London, the likes of me never set foot in Fortnum & Mason, far too expensive even then, Maybe you should try Greggs for your sausage rolls, much better value but you won't get a fig and pistachio pastry there.

    • @LouieDoesaThing
      @LouieDoesaThing  8 месяцев назад

      I've had sausage rolls at Greggs and they weren't my favorite. I did, however, try their Festive Bake (chicken, sage & onion stuffing, cooked sweetcure bacon, sage & cranberry sauce) and thought it was very good! For an extra 2 pounds, I much preferred the sausage roll at F&M. And I had one from the Ginger Pig in Borough Market, too, and that was also quite good. However, those are even more expensive (6 quid each). I do make sausage rolls at home - it's not too much work, and not too expensive, and I love the way they taste, because I make them the way I like them. I probably wouldn't get a sausage roll again at either F&M or Ginger Pig (unless sharing with somebody) but I'm glad I tried them! Thanks for watching, and Happy New Year!

      Thank you! Yes, I noticed that one of the other times we were there. I love going to grocery stores when we visit...the little local / city ones to the bigger stores as well. It's so fun seeing how different they are vs. the ones here in the U.S.

    You do realise that fortnum and mason is for rich snobs

    • @LouieDoesaThing
      @LouieDoesaThing  3 месяца назад

      I respectfully disagree. They have plenty of things that are not very expensive there. Obviously it will be pricier than a Tesco or Sainsbury's, but they also have some unique things there. Plus, I feel it's a nice experience just to walk through and look around, even if you don't buy anything. And it's not just rich snobs who can do that :)
