    Noticed you upgraded to induction cooking, must have missed when that happened. How many Ahrs are you running? Prefer it over gas?

    • @4xAdventures
      @4xAdventures  8 месяцев назад +2

      I have a 200Ah lithium battery, Redarc 2000W pure sine wave inverter, Redarc 40A DCDC and 200A solar panel. It all works beautifully together and provides way more juice than I need, even if I have the electric blanket running all night. Induction cooking is fantastic - far more efficient than gas, it works in all temperatures and windy conditions and I can use it in National Parks when there are restrictions on open flames. I’m very happy with this setup. 🙂👍

    Great video both of you! Making me envious and yearning to get back down there. A trip we did earlier touring the high country 3 weeks ago was called off midway due to dangerous rainfall. Thank you.

    It is an excellent video. We enjoyed whatching particularly the seenic views across the High country. We are glad that you did not take the river crossing without backup. Good to see that you have company in your travels. Now we are waiting for the next episode. Brian and Lena.

    • @4xAdventures
      @4xAdventures  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks very much! I don’t remember the brand, but it’s a 250W flexible panel. I just went for the largest panel I could fit on that part of the tent & have been pretty happy with it. 🙂👍

      @@4xAdventures I just had another quick question; have you considered adding rock sliders? What are your thoughts on them? Had any issues without them on the terrains you usually travel? Cheers

    • @4xAdventures
      @4xAdventures  6 месяцев назад +1

      @Bergo101 I have considered them, but have chosen not to because of the extra weight. Generally, I mostly do touring on dirt tracks, sand etc. so they are not really needed there. Ideally, if weight were not an issue, I would have installed some right sliders and steps combined, but I have never found any I liked.
      So far, I have escaped damage. 🤞

    • @Bergo101
      @Bergo101 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@4xAdventures makes sense. I’ve seen you do plenty of challenging tracks eg. Vic high country.. should be fine then! Thanks for answering

    • @Bergo101

      Hi mate, I did some research and the Toyota OEM rock sliders are 16kg each, so that's 32kg hanging under the car. So if you've had no issues so far, I wouldn't bother.
      I did want to ask which load bars you are using to hold the rooftop tent, do you mind sharing please? I've currently got a platform rack but am considering a change to loadbars to save more weight as well. Cheers mate
