You may find this interesting, Mike: I've just 10 mins ago been watching a video made by a leather goods maker who has featured two kinds of Horween leather, and this one used by Crossway on our bibles is called Chrome XL, which Beau Tate mentioned. It turns out that all that mangling some are giving the Horween leather on their bibles is creating fine breaking in the leather surface, which is not good, so I definitely will not be doing anything unusual to mine other than handle it respectfully and normally.
@@artistchristos Thank you for the heads up Jae. I was not aware of that. An yes, I have seen some other reviewers rolling and folding their covers which I don’t like to do on any Bible regardless
@@mikehoward455 That's right, Mike, none of us are abusing any of our bibles as a matter of form, as they are doing. Why hurry the gradual transformation of the condition of this very expensive leather when it will become what it will be by its owner's constant, loving handling? Btw, I learned that the term, "pull up", means the way the tone changes to lighter when leathers are folded and let go.
@@artistchristos I agree Jae, I was raised to take good care of books and I’ve carried that over to Bibles. I cringe when I see people folding them backwards
@@mikehoward455 My nose has always been in a book and, like you, was brought up to respect them, plus we would go to the local library every week with Mum, by which reading all the time very much expands our ability to speak and communicate with others through the increasing literacy. Btw, the ESV is great!
Thanks for sharing sister. Gods Blessings 😊
Thank you Jae. The Horween is a beautiful and unique leather. Appreciate the video.
