Thank you Ron! Yes, it was a bit chilly on that bridge, and, unfortunately, a bit too windy as well, hence the slightly shaky footage, despite the tripod. It was an impressive sight though. Hope you are keeping well. Cheers, Paul
Thank you Louise! It was a bit chilly waiting on that bridge though! However, the autumn colours and the Cotswold Hills were a scenic backdrop and made up for the cold conditions. Cheers, Paul
Great bit of filming, the anticipation really builds up ..... I'm sure that diesel had its brakes full on as well!! Had a busy weekend running my steam engines for the STWWW organised by the Unofficial Mammod and other Steam Forum ..... well crashing them and setting them alight anyway. If you'd like to have a look then let me know. All the best
Ah, thank you David. Yes, it may well have done! I used to have a couple of Mammod Steam Engines when I was a lot younger - nearly set fire to my parents shed once! I'd love to have a look - you can always send me a message or link via Instagram. Take care, Paul
I like to watch steam trains! I don’t know much about them though, so don’t know the name! That was a good viewing point for the junction! I watch the activities on the WSR without knowing any technical details!!😀
Hi Diana, A little secret, I don't know much about steam engines either! I do like watching them though, but my main interest is with railway lines, stations and the history of the lines, rather than the locos themselves. I love the WSR as well - I might do my Christmas Steam 'Santa Special' from there this year. Always great to hear from you. Take care, Paul
It is just south of Standish Jct, where the former LMS and GWR 'met' (they didn't as they ran in parallel in quad formation to Tuffley Jct). It was filmed on a very green coloured bridge - no idea what locals call it, I'm afraid. Cheers, Paul
@@westcountrywanderings That's the place! Thought l reccongised it. The bridge was painted black in the old days and the gap between the two tracks was covered in ant hills. We would spend hours up there train spotting.
A wonderful sight. Thanks for sharing, Paul🙂👍
Thank you Ron!

Wonderful ,Thanks Paul
Thank you Michael!
It is a good location there as you have two mainlines as well as a scenic backdrop.
Cheers,
Paul
That was a lovely little video Paul! You had some brilliant views of the trains. Really nicely captured.

This was soothing to watch. I loved every minute of it.
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You have probably spent many an hour on bridges waiting for trains to pass. There is always something rather magical about steam.
Thank you! Yes, a few times, that's for sure!
Thanks so much,
Take care,
Paul

A superb short video Paul. Black 5 at her very best!
Thank you Michael!
Yes, it is always good to see steam on the mainlines and at a decent turn of speed.
Cheers,
Paul
Nice capture. I caught the 44871 at Ascot
Thank you! Yes, it was great to see today and the rain held off.
nice one Paul 👌👌👌
Thank you Roy! Cheers, Paul
Is that the GWR off to London via Stonehouse and the LMS straight down to Bristol? Locals call "Black Bridge" & "Ants Bank"?
