- This is the theme used on NBCSN for Wednesday Night Hockey, first used on 10/3/18. It is composed and provided by CurrentMusic/Sikora, who did an amazing job with this theme!
Wow. This is as clear and crisp as it gets. I wish you could do the same for the NHL on NBC theme. 😰
Peter I wish NBC use this theme more for its playoff coverage
JerseyNYC83 nahhh nothing beats the original NHL on NBC theme 🤷♂️
WelcomeToBoston You are so right
WelcomeToBoston The version I’m still looking for is the one in the background in the first 25 seconds: m.ruclips.net/video/63-OHWD_tF8/видео.html
@@Peter-tm4sx NHL on NBC theme is now on my channel.
ESPN and Turner will now hold the NHL broadcasting rights after this season. R.I.P. NBC WNH!
nbc hockey coverage sucks anyways, even though espn will shit all over it too
@@ianshort2935 if espn doesn't care about baseball, you think they'll care about hockey? Gonna miss NBC, at least they put some attention to the sport.
Great theme. I really wish NBC would fully change the in-game graphics. It looks totally half-hearted with it being part previous set and updated set.
Won't have to worry about that next season...
I just miss Wednesday Night Rivalry...
Wednesday Night Rivalry was stupid. Wednesday Night Hockey makes a lot more sense. It's the premier NHL broadcast on US Cable. If you're on Wednesday Night Hockey, then you are an important team to NBC Sports.
@@MrT8599 I got the rivalry aspect when it was an original 6 matchup, Rags and Devils, or something along those lines, but when your marketing games like "Buffalo vs. Columbus", it loses the whole rivalry feel.
I love that they changed it-nice to see teams like San Jose, Florida and Winnipeg featured on NBC more. There are so many incarnations of Pens/ Caps you can market before the same matchups get stale
I agree!! Now sure there were rivalries that made no sense, but I miss the commercials that led up to Wednesday Night Rivalry, hearing that Voiceover saying "It's the night you love to hate", you knew it was gonna go down, like for example (my 2nd favorite team) the Sharks vs the Kings, hon Wednesday Night Rivalry brought chills down my spine, Wednesday night hockey is not bad, it just isn't the same as #RivalryNight was.
i do too but wednesday night hockey sounds more professional. wednesday night rivalry separated us from the other major sports like the nfl and mlb who do sunday night baseball
This is basically the NHL equivalent to "Code Lyoko Evolution"... You have the good characters but it's missing the excitement and the iconic theme music. Just, who in the living hell would want to get rid of WNR... The pre AEW pinnacle of Wednesday night television
This is just my opinion, but if NBC ends up renewing their TV contract with the NHL (which they are likely to do), they should move Wednesday Night Hockey to USA as opposed to having it on NBCSN. But only Wednesday Night Hockey because that makes the most sense as it is the premier NHL telecast in the United States, at least on cable. The remaining regular season cable games would be on NBCSN. Basically, this could theoretically help promote the NHL in the United States better if USA showed Wednesday Night Hockey as opposed to NBCSN.
Interesting idea. Not sure of how many US households have USA network compared to NBCSN.
@@welcometoboston9524 I think more households have USA Network. It was one of the earliest cable channels.
Why not NBC instead of USA
@@bigtimeaze-azeramos9645 Because NBC won't want to take a weeknight out of their lineup to show an NHL game on the main network. If it was the NFL or NBA or maybe even MLB, they may go ahead and leave a weeknight open for the sporting event. But because it's the NHL, a league that does have a good amount of supporters in the United States (especially in the Northeast and Upper Midwest) but not nearly as much as the NFL or NBA or even MLB perhaps, NBC won't go ahead and put a prime-time game on their main network on a Wednesday night when they know they can put on something that would likely give them more ratings and advertising support. Now I do think that NBC could possibly start doing something in line to Hockey Night in Canada, where they show a few games in prime-time on Saturday nights. This would be regionally based. For example, one Saturday night NBC has three games available to show on Hockey Night in America on a regional basis. The games in question are a Bruins-Canadiens game (which is also being shown on Hockey Night in Canada), a Lightning-Rangers game and a Blackhawks-Predators game. So most of the country would likely get the Bruins-Canadiens game while others would get one of the other two games. And if this were to be implemented, then it would likely not start until January when college football season is over.
Not sure that USA would be willing to bump their second-tier WWE program that gets higher ratings for Wednesday Night Hockey.
Yes-I been looking for this ever since I first heard it last season
JerseyNYC83 that’s because last season was the debut of the music and WNH. WNR was discontinued last year.
C.J. Lawlor I know. The rebranding is way better since the same rivalry matchups were becoming repetitive and the lesser popularity teams like Florida and Calgary are shown more. This music definitely has a “big stage” feel that I don’t get from the regular NHL on NBC theme.
JerseyNYC83 yessir. I’m not a big fan of hockey, Tampa is my favorite. I’d like to move there. They’ve got a few “rivalries” I’d say and I’m glad this new broadcast includes teams like them and others who don’t get prime time attention as well.
this theme 2018-2021
Chills
This theme is unbelievable!
I'm looking forward to the 2021 NHL season. " GO BLACKHAWKS! "
GO LIGHTNING! Pick drop just minutes away!
You knew shit was gonna go down when this beat dropped
The old the theme song for Wednesday night rivalry was better
Why didn’t they this theme in chel to
Manny Sigal in NHL 19 they played the Wednesday Night Rivalry theme during Wednesday games in modes like be a pro and franchise.
Two days to go until WNH comes back 👀
@WelcomeToBoston how did you create this video? I’ve been wanting to know how people upload sports theme music for a long time.
C.J. Lawlor just took audio from the music producer and reuploaded it. Video is non monetized as a result.
