    you really need to find a new name for active focus.
    it's completely different thing from what I thought the first time I heard it.
    it took me about a year to finally get it.
    once you get it. your eyes will breath again. literally you will feel air passing inside your eyes. and you will be relieved.
    tutorial on how I got it: don't force focus. just look at distance. see what interesting objects or details your eyes will land on. it's more like meditation. you may see or notice things that you didn't pay attention to it before.
    and the more you keep just appreciating what you can see or the more new things your eyes catch the better your eyes gets.
    not even the slightest pain you should feel while doing active focus. it's normal. it's not a new thing. you were doing that before your eyes got locked into short distance.
    hope that helps sb

      A myopic eye gets more myopic because of peripheral rays focus beyong the retina, unlike in the central part, which "tells" the eye ti grow (and get more myopic). This is due to optics of ophtalmic lenses. Each mm of the size of the eye translates to -3,00D extra.
      I have been experimenting with some people who were convinced they will lower their minus diopters by various methods, watched them, tested them and I can say as an optometrist, the results were "subjectively better" but "objectively they achieched pretty much the same visual acuity as before, and even this guy can not provide an objective results, he just "feels it is better".
      There is nothing you can train in the eye to make the eye smaller or give yourself minus diopters. I only noticed swings in diopters of this magnitude with people who suffer from diabetes, and changing blood sugar values.
      I call BS on this video, and I will gladly prove anyone wrong if you can attend my Optical store in the Czech Republic, feel free to PM me, I will be glad to be the 1st to see a miracle happen... so far I had no luck.

    I’ve been at -1.25 for about 12 years. I think the only reason it didn’t get worse is that it’s so low that I only wear glasses when I’m out of the house or watching tv across the room. I just went to the eye doctor and told them I think I’m over prescribed because the glasses give me headaches and I’m constantly taking them off. I did try a bit harder for the eye test than usual but they gave me a significant reduction. Here’s to hoping I’ll be out of glasses in a year.

    Very interesting bit on the peripheral vision.
    It also helped me a lot when I stressed myself too much forcing the active focus experience. The forcing never works well. By relaxing the eyes in the peripheral, you put strain away from the center vision. Focussing excessively on the center vision can actually support tunnel vision.

      @@losrobbosful had some setbacks in 2020 due to my screen time for work about tripling. Reassessed, and did a multi year reset to get my non-dominant eye to truly catch up with my dominant. I'm now in the intermittent glasses wearing stage, where for short periods of time I see 20 / 40 or better in alternating eyes. One more good leap in non-glasses clarity and I should be fine to be glasses free except for night driving. A good time to benchmark for me will be about the end of September when daylight hours start dropping off on the East coast. If not for 2020 set back I might be done by now, but if the worst of the pandemic for me was a slowdown in my vision improvement, then I came through it well.
      Last diopter mostly takes a lot of patience.

    • @losrobbosful
      @losrobbosful 2 года назад

      @@mattely6774 Yeah, I know what you are talking about. 2020 was also a heavy setback year in terms of progress.
      I realized that my non dominant eye goes into ciliary spasm super fast, whilst the dominant eye has pretty stable vision.
      I guess with a lot of screen work and lots of intermittent spasms the visual cortex gets quite shooked up.
      I always had the suspicion that the ciliary muscle of my non dominant eye is somehow "weaker" (does not focus that easily). It also took a lot of time until both of them were almost on the same level.
      Now I can, just like you, see 20 / 40. But not instantly, it takes slight focussing (but without pushing).
      Ocassionally, in great lighting, I can read up to 20 / 25.
      In Dim Lighting however sometimes I can hardly read 20 70.
      So hopefully we will both finish the journey soon. Best of luck Matt, I will see you there :)

      @@losrobbosful I've got a lot of similar stuff going on - non-dominant eye is less stable, the clear vision is there sometimes but not entirely controllable, significantly worse in dim lighting. It'll come and we'll do a digital high 5 once we get to the finish line.

    I recently read a lot of these studies relating to blinking lights and animals wearing eye glasses, and it's very clear that the peripheral is what causes the axial change rather than specifically looking at a single minute detail. This also explains why going outside yields a lot of improvement, but virtually none if at all while in doors. I think we should look more into the peripheral aspect of the eye.

  • @CyBORGBOY11
    @CyBORGBOY11 2 года назад +3

    I'd like to share some observations that I have been noting in my experience.
    It appears that the upper lips have the ability to relax the facial muscle, as if "sliding" the lip through the upper teeth creates "cheeks" on the side to which the lip moves and that this purposefully generated "cheek" serves as a support for the eyeball. I suppose that when we move the eyes we also move the lip (perhaps a lil bit the nose too) slightly in the same direction as we are looking, as if this movement prevents the eyes from straining or prevents the facial muscles from tensing.
    Some people with normal vision often "pull" or keep the "joint" of the lips to a specific side as if they are making a disapproval face (many older women get this expression mark in their mouth), it seems that this maneuver pulls the muscles attached to the muscles of the eyes (when the face is relaxed).
    In hypnosis, when you look down for a long time, it relaxes the muscles in your face and also in your eyes (eyes are related to cognitive function/awareness).
    Strangely, looking at one shoulder frequently seems to relax the eyeball or the muscles in the face.

    • @Joshua-yj1eo
      @Joshua-yj1eo Год назад +1

      Look into Neil Hallinan and the postural restoration institute, the whole body is connected. Your teeth and tongue relate to your eyes by the way. The tongue is supposed to relax to the roof of the mouth sealing the lips and this allows us to posture our bodies and move forward through 3D space which makes us relax because we see less narrowed vision and more peripheral vision. The most naturally attractive and healthy people in the world will have an upright neutral pelvis, forward jaw, and little to no visual issues.

    Hi Jake, I have a question. Is myopia always caused by too much close up in the first place or are there also other factors that can cause it like for example stress? Because I noticed that my vision is a lot worse when I’m stressed or have a bad mood. Have you also found that that was the case for you?

    • @CyBORGBOY11

    • @crippled82
      @crippled82 2 года назад

      i found it's also an uneven tension of the circular muscles and it seems to be correlated to the focal area one focuses on, that's why active focus starts with describe the blur, become aware what you're looking at and try to better look at it. I also found that the fixation wasn't always at the point i was looking at, always around it and different per eye.

You should buy some glasses from an online retailer and reduce by 0.25 at a time. I wear -1.0 glasses in both eyes with no cyl correction at the moment. I keep reducing without bothering with CYL. No idea why my right eye went up so much though.

    Hello everyone, it has been 2 months since I started endmyopia. I have been going out atleast 1 hour everyday and use my phone for no longer than 20-30min at a time followed by 1-2min of looking far away. However, my vision has not been improving. Can anyone pinpoint to me why? I really am not sure and according to a video I watched by Jake steiner the 2 reasons why vision does not improve is lack of screen time and too much screen usage but I feel my proportions are alright?

    what do you think of the theory that only peripheral myopic defocus has effects on myopia as studys where the whole eye was put into defocus had much less effect than those where particularly the peripheral vision was defocused.

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  2 года назад

      Myopic defocus, axial shortening. Yes that's key. At least so goes the theory. In practice if you want to get rid of your glasses ... we've spent 20 years experimenting, the current approach so far works most reliably. Why, how, science? TBD

    I have few questions
    1. Will close up still Effect after I get 20/20 vision?. As I have Started doing active focus I can see a lot of improvement but even If I look At screen for 15 minutes my progress decreases which Wasn't the case with me before I started doing active focus so will it affect ne after 20/20
    2. Is it ok to not wear glasses? cause I still Haven't got my glasses yet and its been two months so is it ok
    3.I have been seeing a lot of double vision lately will it get that worse to the point the only thing I see is double vision?

    My Eye sight is
    Right - 2.5(SPH) 2.0(CYL) 10°Axis
    Left - 3.0(SPH) 2.0(CYL) 180°Axis
    How can I improve my Eye Sight both spherical and cylindrical as well?

  • @raygreenbay6391
    @raygreenbay6391 2 года назад +1

    If your theory works, then why can't people with congenital farsightedness enlarge the shortened axis of their eyes by working at close range? According to your logic, they have enough stimulus for the growth of the eyes. But that doesn't happen. farsightedness remains farsightedness, myopia remains myopia. These are irreversible processes, the formation of which is influenced by many factors, including genetic ones.

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  2 года назад +2

      "Congenital". It's the first thing I say all the time, we work on pseudo and lens-induced myopia. The rare genetic issues, or illness isn't our focus. And if myopia remains myopia, then who are these people: endmyopia.org/success/ :)
