I agree, I’ve seen some modern guitars with no unnecessary features, I personally have an epiphone prophecy extura that is packed with features that all have purpose, we need guitars that have features that aren’t unnecessary
As the owner of a Relish Mary One, I have to say that it is an amazing piece of engineering and a lot of fun to play. It's heavier than I expected but not cumbersome. It definitely doesn't feel as fragile as I expected. As a luthier and designer, I have to say that it is an very inspirational piece and the perfect test bed as I develop my own pickups.
I really enjoy hearing your writing at the end of these videos. You're a phenomenal writer. Keep on doing that it makes me hang in there till the end for this surprise
These kinds of guitars are perfect for guitar stores that sell pickups. You could easily demo pickups that you want to purchase, but don't necessarily have a guitar in the store that happens to have those pickups in it to try out.
I remember watching Darrell braun's review of this guitar. Thought it was wacky then and I still think it's wacky now...... ...... ...... And I fcking love it!!!
You indeed don't know what your talking about..this company is out of business and this guy is a guitar shill that will tell you to buy any guitar they GIVE him
The pickups are the catch. If you want to swap in Duncans or Bareknuckles they charge fucking $400 per set since they are customized with that magnetic mount thing.
Ive played a whole bunch of relishes over the years, they’re brilliant and the build quality is supreme. They resonate in a special way. I only wish it was easier to convert your own pickups into their system.
Started watching your videos lately because RUclips kinda directed me to your channel and very happy I clicked on the first one, which I have no clue now to which one it was but it was both funny yet informative. Most of us can so relate to your views and I’m an old school musician born in 1962. Yeah no doubt around your parents age. Played in bands in the late 70s and early 80s. Your playing is excellent and your sense of humor is perfect. Thanks for the laughs! Stay safe!
i think the somnium guitar that lets you do the same exact thing and its made at of regular guitar wood i think it looks better and way cheaper but nothing wrong with relish just think the somnium is way quicker and easier to work with. and yeah this guitar has been out for a while i think this is even the third? edition of it so its been out a while
@@Tronic21 I just looked at those, and they are certainly not "way cheaper" they are around the same price range for a lot of the models, and Relish makes a low end model without the piezo pickup for right at 1k.
This year I built a tenor guitar that you can swap the pickups out in (loosely based on seeing a video of this guitar before). The back comes off, and the pickup "cartridges" attach via bolts that I can easily swap out (have a patch cable inside to allow the main workings swap to the cartridges). It is such a cool concept. mine requires tools and about 2-3 minutes, and I don't have pickup pairs, but it is a totally doable build...
Technology is really amazing. When it comes to guitars and amps, like many players, I’m stuck loving the old stuff. But this is a really cool “space age” instrument.
Every once in awhile I check out a Relish video and think “maybe”. Then, today, a Relish video came to me and I think “god damn that one is gorgeous!!”
The number 1 internet guitar villain says " my mom, could change the pickups in this guitar!" Love it man! Not the guitar so much, just the hilarious shit you say always picks me up when I'm blue. Rock on villian!
Working my way through your catalogue and I've got to say you make great content--interesting and informative. It doesn't hurt that you're a damn fine musician too.
I saw this one in white about a year ago on another channel where the entire channel is devoted to one thing! Guitars and how they compare to other guitars. I was researching and saw videos like Yamaha Pacifica vs. Fender Squier Affinity and the like. Plus amps and gear etc.. I watch you Tyler for all the great guitar content, you've branched out with your interviews with Zakk Wylde (
I actually got the red Relish Trinity last year, frickin' love, and ordered an extra pair of soapbar p90's...what I love about their new Jane models and Mary Ones is that they have the 17 way pickup touch switch
Was in Gruhn Guitars two summers ago and they had one. Beautiful, well machined, cool features, weighs as much as at least 5 times my Parker Fly, so my back says plain "no". If it were lighter I'd seriously consider it, again, very well built guitar.
I’ve seen demos of these and it’s pretty cool. I’ve wanted to get my hands on of the guitars Gibson made to demo pickups for years but these are even better.
I got to play a Relish at Gruhn's in Nashville, it was a really delightful guitar to play. Novel and interesting in every detail. Can't swing the cost, but I loved it.
Yep, these are very cool. Saw this over at Darrell Braun's channel a couple of years ago and Phil McKnight has that Somnium guitar too. Check that one out.
I love your music a lot man, I think you should upload all the music you've made for your videos separately, I would love to listen to them repeatedly.
@@chuckydall9250 looks like you can put whatever pickups your little heart desires into these guitars. There is a catch though, they won't sell you an empty pickup mounting kit, it needs to be installed by an authorized dealer... which is complete BS.
My dream guitars are the Brian may red special replica, les Paul standard. A flying v, a Gibson double neck, a 12 string Taylor a regular 6 string Taylor. A American strat that's about it
Your playing is getting a sight better my man keep it up cause company's are sending you stuff not the haters sleeping on a bed with out a bed frame and borrowing money from their mom to pay pay for their monthly xbox subscription
Last 3 minute jam....really kool! Sounds great....I am no guitar player, but you are very talented and versatile....you do not need to lean and your almanac/encyclopedia of knowledge on guitars (though you could)....you serve the instrument with honour and give its existence due justice....rock on!
This is the first 'futuristic' guitar that I've found to have any utility at all without compromising the old school guitar integrity.
This reminds me a lot of the Parker Fly in that regard
I agree, I’ve seen some modern guitars with no unnecessary features, I personally have an epiphone prophecy extura that is packed with features that all have purpose, we need guitars that have features that aren’t unnecessary
You should check out the guitorgan
Ye, Unlike the Jammy lol

*samuraiguitarist : am i a joke to you?*
😂😂😂😂
Darrel Braun Guitars: "That is so two years ago."
Me: "LOL. It's still a super cool guitar."
Nice 🤣 I did think of him when I saw this
@@Max_Money_AWA Well you have to do something to pass those long winters in the Canadian prairies, especially if you're not into curling :-D
Not to forget Phil McKnight who's using this for a looong time to compare PUs....
For most people the sentence "I have a ton of guitars" is definitely just a hyperbolic figure of speech. Tyler isn't most people of course.
I've seen this guitar review from 3 different RUclipsrs before and it still feels like I'm seeing this for the first time... it's beautiful 😍

its surprisingly affordable. I seen them on Reverb for $2,200. I was half expecting it to be like $10,000
The pickups are the catch. If you want to swap in Duncans or Bareknuckles they charge fucking $400 per set since they are customized with that magnetic mount thing.
@Alex Hays I heard they won't just sell you the things, you have to pay an authorized dealer to mount the pickups.
You are definitely one of my favorite guitarists. That composition at the end was amazing.

Your solos are just so great. This one one was next level as usual ✌

That right there is phenomenal and now on my wish list
I don't know if I'm more impressed by the guitar or that awesome solo you put together with it.👏👏👏👏👏
Darrel Braun has had this for a while, it's really cool and imo essential for gear reviewers
That song at the end was way more epic than what I was ready for
God damn, that playing was sick! 🤙🏻
Dude that solo at the end was legendary. Put that song on a record!
Every time I see guitars like these, I can't help but think of Steve Vai. That's just how insane these guitars can get
Not that I wasn't already aware, but sometimes I'm reminded, "oh yeah, this guy is a phenomenal friggin guitar player."
Ohhh!! This guitar idea is really thoughtful. Loved the "Cinematic Insider Look" with the Indian Classical music!!!
Technology is really amazing. When it comes to guitars and amps, like many players, I’m stuck loving the old stuff. But this is a really cool “space age” instrument.
Said this before, but i LOVE your guitar playing! You have a unique musical understanding!
That tune at the end was screaming! Bravo!
That sitar piece in the background during the cinematic insider look at 3:15 was beautiful
Relish came out some out of box idea. The demo you have played is in one word "WOW"!!!!
Every once in awhile I check out a Relish video and think “maybe”. Then, today, a Relish video came to me and I think “god damn that one is gorgeous!!”

Found my next single cut, love the idea and looks!

Nope
That track at the end was freaking amazing! The guitar was good and all, but I'm rewatching this video for the end music.
That outro song is like 7 different genres in 1. I love it.
Like this new model. Relish truly are the most innovative manufacturers.

Beautiful. I need one of those
Some really savage licks going on in this video dude... Great work man!
Hey - the strings are centered perfectly over the pickups. Those crazy Swiss!
Sounds good actually
Really enjoyed the outro song. Very catchy and good sound tonality.
great guitar loved it and the solo at the end perfectly justified!

I have one. They’re incredible. I have Bareknuckles in it. I wish would have showed the clean piezo sounds. It’s so good.
How is that possible?
Unless you want to watch waves, you don't show sounds.:P
You can put regular bareknuckles in it? Or is it something they make?

I really really like this, all of this
I seen this guitar for the first time about a year ago and I've been waiting to see you do a video on one
That final jam sounds pretty neat. The piezzo part sounds beautiful :)
Now they need a 9 Volt option for EMGs and Fishman Fluence pickups
They do support active pickups. There is already a battery for the piezo and it can drive active pickups too.
Damn son! Shred it on the awesome futuristic guitar! 🤘
Nice to learn about a new guitar I know I can't afford it but I enjoyed listening to you play it thanks

I need that guitar
So those folk who say guitar is dead, should totally watch this! Is this the birth of what guitars of the future will be?
Nice guitar man, keep rockin!
