I watched your older video installing the SmittyBilt winch with the Bulldog plate. Fast forward I also found your new install using Warn. Thank you for the comparison and making my decision faster and accurate lol.
I got the warn when it first came out(10s) I change it between my 4d longbed camper$boat hauling f350 7.3 then in my farm/family 1500 4/4 then off and into the woods wheeling my s10 blazer. The plug wire mount screws came loose one fell out(2+yrs)Replaced with lock nuts. Synth line still looks great and no problems 10 out of 10
I got the same model as yours but my remote came with just wired version not wireless. I'm hoping to get a resolution 😢 it does not have the activation button
You might consider using a Factor55 Flatlink for a couple of reasons. First, you will protect more of your winch line because you can wind all of the line on to the drum. Second, being a closed system, the F55 won't break like a hook can. When that happens with a hook, you could end up with an extremely dangerous situation.
I have been using a gen 1, 12K X2O for 9 years and I am just now having issues. Mine has had extremely hard life. It's never let me down until a month ago at home when I was moving one of my car haulers. It won't back the rope on the spool now. I ordered a new control solenoid.
@@RubiconUnlimited Thanls a lot! Used your link for that mount so I can put my new Warn zr evo 10s in my 16 jku Hard Rock. Using Factor 55 1” fairlead and their Flatlink E
I had a smittybilt I took good care of it kept it covered. First time I used it the housing broke and smittybilt would not replace it. I am going with Warn now.
Hey mate, just wondering why did you go for the 10S instead of the 8s? For your weight the 3.6t of the 8 would have been enough or am I wrong? Cheers from Germany
Always good to have that extra power in case you are stuck in mud or other obstacles that will create more drag/stress on the winch! Plus you never know what other vehicles you might have to recover. Thanks for watching
Great video! I'm in Edmonton. Nice to see a practical review from Canada. I was thinking of the new Smittybilt Gen 3 X20, which has no reviews yet, but was also thinking the EVO XR (all in 12,000lbs). Now thinking the Warn is the choice. Cheers.
good luck with the warn, they are renowned for electrical failure if the winch motor gets wet, there is bugger all sealing on the motor, and their warranty will all but wipe their hands with any claim sighting user error.
Great! now when you've changed the smitty build's one - what would you have changed in terms of other parts if you'd decided to go with Warn at once (winch mount etc)?
I can't believe how picky you guys are about to the most simplest stuff for something that you use every now and then is there at that many picky wench owners out there

Great video! Just ordered mine today! Was debating on the new smittybilt gen3 but went with the warn.
You won't regret that decision. This will serve you well for years to come

That's great to hear, sounds like a solid choice that will last for years to come
Nice review and comparison of these products. Thanks!

They've gone wired! Apparently there was a recall on the wireless, but they do have an adapter for that now
Very nice! I've only experience with the classic warn like the m8 and it never failed me. Probably the most reliable brand winch there is.
Love to hear that! Dependability is key.

Oh yeah, im aware of those and they are great. I already run a warn sidewinder and like it a lot, no need for me to change it
Great winch, put the exact same one on my 2017 unlimited 3 months ago. Only used it a few times but seems quality like Warn is known for.
Good to know! Luckily I didnt have to use it on my last trip out... only a matter of time
Great piece buddy.. may i ask about the license plate bracket covering the fairlead. Am buying the same winch but got stuck about my license plate
Of course! Did a video on it here, there's a link in the video description for the product as well ruclips.net/video/o7f5cUWgLkk/видео.html
Nice! I just put the same winch on my 2014 JKUR "X" edition a couple weeks ago. Years ago had an M8 on my old CJ7 and it was great.
Can't go wrong with this one! Have you used it on the trail yet?
Thanks! Buying the 10s today!
You're going to love it

That's a solid run, and with the new solenoid you should still have it for a while 👌
@@RubiconUnlimited I'm going to replace it and move that old winch to one of my car haulers.
Good plan, what are you going to replace it with?
With the Warn 12k Zeon
Going all in! It'll serve you well I'm sure 🤠
Is this mounted on the same Bulldog Winch mount you put in originally?
You got it 👍 same bolt pattern and works perfectly here

@@full_metal2452 awesome! Thanks for the support. That's going to be an awesome setup
If you aren’t aware there is a recall on the wireless remote. They have a process to submit and get $100 rebate/replacement
Already went through it and warn did an excellent job rectifying everything. Might do a video on the wireless component that they sent
Would be great to see your one year review on your Warn winch.
Still going strong like day 1!
I had a smittybilt I took good care of it kept it covered. First time I used it the housing broke and smittybilt would not replace it. I am going with Warn now.
Oh no that's horrible news, just when you needed it too. The warn will serve you well

Thanks. Nice video. I have the same but the wireless remote does not engage. Do I need to switch something on the main winch first?
I didn’t know christian slater had a jeep
😂✌️

Hi, Where did you get the hinged plate bracket.
Here you go amzn.to/34NtBVk
Well its a red badge. Perfect
This was very helpful, thank you. What is your flip plate mount? I need that!
No problem! It's the flipster, they just came out with an updated version and I love it! You can get one here amzn.to/34NtBVk
@@RubiconUnlimited Thanks!
where did you get that cool license plate bracket?
Thanks!! did a video about it here ruclips.net/video/o7f5cUWgLkk/видео.html

Awesomeness 👊 thank you

Even though the VR series are made over seas, they are made to really high quality control standards.

also did you consider vacuum pump relocation kit? gets it under the hood
Everything is still good to go, vacuum pump is okay where it is
Sounds like an ad for warn
Just telling you my experience with the Smittybilt and what to look forward to. I paid for the winch
What's wrong with being enthusiastic about something he's spent his hard earned money on?
Gained a subscriber from me! Good video.
🙌 Thank you sir! Much appreciate, thanks for watching
did you consider Apex?
A faulty switch and they replaced the switch? Man…. They should have sent you a new winch!! 🤦♂️
I was definitely expecting a new control module, it was a bit floored when they sent just the switch haha
Your probably not old enough to know that Warn started out in the front hub business
I did some research on it and did learn that!
45 degree turn by the way ;)
