This was really nice, Careena! The rewards of that scenic mountain vista spoke volumns on why we often make the extra effort getting to these special places. I spotted a number of terrific "photo portraits" in this one, like when you were sitting on the rock, cup in hand and trusty bushcraft knife at your side while reflectively gazing out at all that beautiful mountain vastness, to name just one. Great editing/music as always, and thanks for sharing this much appreciated time of relaxation with us!
I’ve only done that hike once and I remember it was steep. Well done! It would be even harder with a backpack. I loved your views at the top, but also the beach shots that bring back memories of my childhood and bringing my own kids there. Camping at the top was brilliant! So many obstacles trying to deter you from getting an overnight break Alexis. But well worth the effort in the end. Apart from the wind conditions the weather for the time of year looked great. Autumn is my favourite season and you captured the Beauty perfectly with your filming. Perseverance paid off in the end 👍

Now we're talkin', Careena - perfectly imperfect. I think I know when this was as I was deer hunting (Quebec) and had at least one tree come down due to wind. I have that BRS stove - simple and reliable. Appreciate the effort in filming - you did more than just hike.
Hi Alexis, well done. I am so happy to see you posting another video. One thing I love about you that, you are a athletic woman and dog lover. Most the times, you like solo camping and sometime of course, with Grizz. Every time you go, you always have a quite technic how to setup your tent. In this video, i also like the movement of things around you. Such as wild animals sound effect of grass, tree, and wind. I hope next time, don't forget bring your gps for your safety because, as a viewer, I am worrying anything can happen around you. Finally thank you Brandon, picked you up on time. As always, love you both.

Great hike! Hardest ones are going straight uphill but it's totally worth it once u get to the top! Happy you kept at it!

Great video Careena! This is the place that Bill was telling me about a year or two back. Invited me to come for a day trip paddle and hike one fall, but I was too busy at the time. I'd love to check it out someday! It looks like an awesome view and a nice hike! I'm not an oatmeal person, I find it too mushy, but I do like granola. This summer on some trips I started pouring a little hot water in my granola, just to warm and soften it a bit. It was a nice warm breakfast, without being too mushy like oatmeal.

Another great video! Your persistence payed off. Most would have given up from the wind and rough water. Then for sure given up when the boat wouldn’t start. You have some serious determination!
I liked that you turned your canoe around when the waves turned choppy. I'm a pilot and we talk about "get-there-itis" where you ignore your best judgement and push on, putting yourself at risk.
Love your channel! I want to know something though, when doing your first solo camping using nothing but what's around you, where there moments you were uncomfortable and nervous and if so what are some methods you took to make yourself comfortable and feel secure?

I must say I’m very impressed with how compact you have everything your backpack is the size of a day pack although in the Army we manpack 7 days of food & Water 💦 thank god I don’t have to carry the Ammo anymore phew 😂😂😂
Two water bottles in your belt webbing two in your chest rig and 4 in your pack and that’s it for 7 days 8 litres
Unless you come across a free running stream which are everywhere in New Zealand 🇳🇿

The views are a big part of why we hike. You had a great view on this one. Personally I would use trekking poles on this hike, especially on the descent. To each their own. 😊Thanks for sharing. Haven’t heard much about Grizz lately. How’s he doing?

...Good call on turning back with the big swells .... an overnight solo outing is NO time to take risks .... Even when conditions are not what plans called for ,, an overnight outing is SO good for mental cleansing ... Sure hope Brandon takes time to do so as well ...... Really interesting hearing that your setup allowed you to side sleep in the hamock. I've never tried sleeping in a hammock, cos I don't like sleeping on my back, this has made me want to give it a try though. I've got all the other gear, just need the hammock.
Also, i'd highly recommend the Soto Windmaster stove. It works great in the wind, and has a built in peizo ignitor, so doesn't need a lighter, one less thing to take.

I LOVE when you use your stove!!!!! I have been binging on your videos and I feel like I have watched you process firewood for hours!! You seemed really out of sorts and were not giving off your "one with nature vibe" until you ate. I'm guessing with all the boat/canoe trouble you skipped lunch and with the calories burned during the hike up you were running on empty when you set up camp.
