MD , you’ve been an inspiration to me. I live in Marion, NC. Just after the flood (Helene), 2 of my grandsons, my son & his wife and several others who had no where to go came here. A few days later, my youngest grandson said “Memaw, I’m sorry that I thought you were a bit crazy for prepping for the end of the world “. No stores were open for at least a week, but we needed nothing. We had no power but the generator sufficed. Families must let go of their differences and come together with love!!
Thankyou for this!!! I'm trying really hard to get systems in place but I'm a female on my own and I'm having a hard time with it. I am working on it though.
so much truth in this Video !!!!..................I enjoy these videos when they concentrate on Prepping/Homesteading skills without the politics .......... even when they are basic refreshers of past videos they still bring new ideas and thought on how to better what I already have , Thanks for all you do MD !!!!
I am trying to just let your videos run when I think of it. Even when I'm not using my phone. I hope that helps! Glad to see you are sticking around on this channel.
I love the prepping videos. As I mentioned before, if you help even one person, you've done your job. I think it's good information it's not something that's taught anywhere outside of You tube. I would have been totally lost without this type of content. I know you've said the topic is saturated on this platform, but I only watch your videos for my vital information - Don't get a fat head. LOL
I agree with the content in this video. You are working hard to survive, and thrive also. So many just think of SHTF as the world collapse and it isn't always about that. A very good video. I am not from Tennessee but from WV. I could live close to you and we could learn from you, me and hubby. Thanks for a great video and I hope it talks to others and wakes just a few of them up. God Bless!!!
Love the advice all Great. Maybe an idea to keep yours fruit trees about 8ft. Easier to harvest Easier to net to prevent birds. I also put collars on the trees like on ships ropes to help prevent rodents climbing up and eating fruit.
My landlord has it in my lease I can't plant directly in the ground . . . So I have a huge container garden every year . . . Where there's a will, there's a way ! 😉😉
Until the deeds and title are in my hands were are prepared to pack things up. I grew strawberries for five years + from a few i purchased they tend to reproduce very easy. Took a few winters to get a blueberry plant to last. It has tripled in size. Our thornless blackberries took off did great for a very long time until trees started growing in the vines. Now we have a large maple there
That's pretty impressive MD. You would be surprised at the similarity in your place and mine. Just last year I bought a 6000Kwh Bluetti solar generator with 2, 400 watt collapsible solar panels. Already tried it out and I can keep a deep freeze and refrigerator running off partly sunny days. I believe in one of your past videos I saw a motion detector also. Those things are great. I bought a Wulu with 3 sensors I use and keep one on the front gate. They also come in handy for armadillos or hogs that sneak in the yard at 3:00 AM to dig things up.
You have a very good setup. Yep, they sure would steal from you. We all know to think about under floors or inside hidden spaces as needed. Handsome rooster with perty ladies to tend to. Looking at that outdoor spot you are letting settle made me think about Clover or another ground cover. One that would be beneficial and nice for turning at planting time. Thank you for the tour. I have seen a few places over the years and the tools, traps, everything was laid out just about like yours and as nicely.
MD, I do have a question for you regarding irrigation. How do you water your raised bed gardens and do you use the same technique for your inground garden as well? Thx.
WOW, what a super video MD. Thanks so much. Question/input from anyone regarding water backup. Currently we have well water and a separate well that uses a handpump. I am looking at backup and have considered the following: spare parts for current grid tied well, having another well drilled as a backup in case the first one goes dry. It took 6 years to finally get a driller to agree to put in the one with the handpump. For some reason when you want more than one well, everyone seems to be all thumbs and no brain. At present trying to get the other well drilled is like pulling hen's teeth. Have been told it can be tied into the current well but each time the contractor comes up with another reason why another well is not necessary. I am quite surprised that in that profession folks don't believe in supply chain issues, grid down, etc. etc., etc. Has anyone else run into issues with well drillers being hesitant to put in additional wells or even have back up parts on hand? I am at a loss and we are at our wit's end as well (no pun intended).

Gardening is a learning curve. You have to know your soil and what will grow in your area. Great video, glad to see it

I've got the exact same Fiskars brush clearing tool you've got hanging in your shed. I carry it in my pack every time I go to the woods.

It’s been an interesting video. It gave me a good idea for a direction to go.

Do you have a well or a rain catchment set-up?
Sweet!!
I need to get me one of those compost barrels ❤
Thanks md. Ps you can never have enough fire wood
Awsome video
This sounds a bit extreme, but is there a way to protect raised beds from nuclear fallout or other chemical dumps? Just in case.
Hi, M.D.
Yup
Snares have been banned in UK, no exceptions.
Will you actually give a damn about the law when you're hungry?
We are Debt free but cannot be a vacation, but we take back roads for down time.
Why wouldn’t you keep all the solar generators in the house?
No, need too.
@@MDCreekmore ok. I don’t have security 100% out side of my house. I lock the shed a hope for the best.
