    Great video! I love your products, and you are very down to earth and always entertaining. You're by far my favorite and most reliable Kickstarter creator. I wish you and your mates continued success.

      Thank you John! Yes, hoping to become more reliable on Kickstarter (especially with this new machine) ...currently finishing a very late Kickstarter project right now - which is fairly frustrating for both backers and myself.

      @@MagnusMacdonald LOL. That's what makes you such a great creator. Your guilt over being a few weeks late while I've some backed 'starts that are coming up on two years late. Well, that, and the quality of your craft.

    Congrats! Awesome looking machine! Just something I noticed, maybe take that tool cart that you put finished candy cans on and move it to the left side of the pallet door? Less things to walk around when going from the CNC control to the pallet staging area. Just a thought, I noticed you walking around it quite a bit! :D

    Welcome back to YT...I have been looking out for your uploads. You're an inspiration to all that love to run their own business and control their own destiny...excellent. That new Kitamura looks very nice and I'm jealous becuase I would love to run it, it looks like a very capable machine that is exactly what you need to grow your business. It is a big leap of faith but you had to do it, just look how far Grimsmo Knives have come by doing exactly what you're doing now.

      Cheers Ian. Yeah, it is a very nice machine - still getting used to not being able to see what is going on in there (unlike the other mill where you can get your head right into the work). So far so good though. The machine will hopefully turn this ship around! :-P

    I like the video you make.
    If possible, I want to see more videos of titanium products.
    That's a great CNC machine.
    With the new CNC machine, you can make products with free 3dimensional designs from now on.
    I look forward to it.

    Hmmm, I commented on your last video a few days ago and an update video comes out now... Coincidence? I think not.
    Great to see you again. I started watching during the whole fidget spinner craze, but stuck around because I enjoyed your ideas and thought process. The music during the machining timelapse was always enjoyable too. I hope this new machine is not camera shy! Would be some great footage from inside that beauty. Oh, also, you didn't leave us with a quote. Those were also good. But I ramble. Good luck and God bless.

    Great to see you again my friend. It has been far too long. I am really interested in your Project Zero Flipper Knife, but am unsure about spending $1000+ on a pocket knife. I have no doubt it will be stunning, everything you make is. I would just like to see a little more than what is currently on the project page before I commit. Is there any video of it working? Am I able to get put on the update emails?
    Great video as always, awesome to have you back.

    • @MagnusMacdonald
      @MagnusMacdonald  5 лет назад +2

      Hey Lucas, yeah I would honestly hold off on Project ZERO right now if you're not sure. I'm hoping to start doing more with knives from here - so this one is a semi-slow, follow-along project. It will eventually turn into a beast of a knife - there are numerous challenges to overcome along the way though. To be fair to those who have pre-ordered already - the Updates have to be for them only. Also, I am still at the CAD/CAM stage now ...but there is a good chance I share some stuff in video and on the blog - so I reckon keep an eye out here and there Lucas.

    Good stuff mate hope the machine is the answer to the cash flow issues. Highly productive machine if you can keep the spindle running. What brand of endmills are you running? Done any process development to get cycle times down? Cheers - fifty50 knives.

    • @MagnusMacdonald
      @MagnusMacdonald  5 лет назад +1

      Hey James, two interesting questions indeed... right now I am using almost exclusively Guhring endmills as the price seems to be a lot (a LOT!) better than anything else I have access to here in New Zealand (UOP, GARR, Kennametal, etc.) - in saying that I have been buying other brands here and there (but they are anywhere from 50% to 400% more expensive that Guhring).
      .
      Also, I've not done much to speed-up the process on these CandyCans. I just got it up and running well and left it at that as I'm struggling for time to run the Kitamura as well as run other parts of the business. I'm edging more on the side of reliable/repeatable for now ...and will tackle efficiency later.

      @@MagnusMacdonald your head is in the right spot reliability is everything! I've had alot of success with iscar and get really competitive trade pricing like 40% discount which helps alot to be competitive whilst having longer tool life. Can we get an update video keen to see this running. Where in NZ are you? My partners family is all over NZ and regularly visit Auckland and Dunedin. Hope all is well cheers.

      @@jamesm3268 I'm in Mount Maunganui (Bay of Plenty) ...only two hours drive from Auckland ...so definitely call along! I have the guys from Iscar (UOP, Garr), Kennametal, along often - but none of them seem to be able to get even remotely close to the Guhring pricing (certainly for the tools I use) ...even with things like the 40% off Iscar offer. I continue to talk with them ...but nothing has seemed to work out. Will see if I can get some running videos soon (should be easier now as I have just hired someone to run it ...so I can do some filming :-P).
