    Thank you, Tom, for this video... I found it really helpful. Luckily I didn't need to adjust the cables... I'd probably have made a pig's ear of that! I've used it for the first time today since getting it last week... what amazed me was how powerful that drive is... nearly took me off my feet at first. Well, not quite, but the previous mower wasn't one with a drive on it so I didn't expect it. I'll need to adjust the height... a bit too long for the front lawn and a bit too short for the back lawn and it's a very hot day at the moment, so I'll water it tonight. Anyway, many, many thanks once again... it's guys like you who give other folk confidence to do stuff like this. I'd not have managed with the instructions as printed.

    Hi Tom. the reason for the Two holes at the bottom of the lower handles is for height adjustment of the handles . you can swap to the other holes with the bolts to adjust the handle height up and down . Nice video thanks for sharing Ade.

    Very good and thorough un-boxing and initial review. I like that it has a cleaning port will be interesting to see how that works over time especially if you wait a couple of cuts before the next wash. Looks like an awesome mower, would love something like this as our electric one struggles with the cut if the grass has been left uncut for a bit to long. However as our garden is tiny i think it would probably be a bit excessive 😂
    Good video to watch might look into the smaller model.

    Great video Tom. Have you assessed the running cost? How often do you re- fuel and what is the tank volume? Thank you.

      oooh, great questions. I don't know... but give me a few weeks of running and measuring and do a follow up video :)

    • @thoughtstuff
      @thoughtstuff  3 года назад +1

      On this…I just refuelled; tank volume is approx 1 litre. I measured a litre and it comes almost to the top.
      I’m roughly tracking how much I’m using it so can provide some idea of how long that lasts once I’ve mowed through all the fuel :)

      No! It doesn’t seem to fit the nut to remove the blade so I’m not sure. I’ll have another look this weekend and see if I can figure it out.

    Hello I'm looking to buy this mower to use in a garden maintenance business. Was just wondering how is it holding up to this day?

    • @thoughtstuff
      @thoughtstuff  2 года назад +1

      Hi - still doing fine. Used it up to 3 times a week in the summer. Cleaned the underside fairly regularly, but done no other maintenance apart from blade sharpening. Oil levels haven't needing topping up. Still starts first pull, no complaints.

  • @dooovde

    I think you might have strapped the cables onto the handlebars the wrong way around. They should be on the outside of the bars instead of the inside. The cables scrape against the metal of the bars when positioned the way you have them.

    It is a very nice machine. Has it been reliable?

    • @thoughtstuff
      @thoughtstuff  3 года назад +1

      Yes. Since that recording used it multiple times a week until November time, left it over winter, fired right up a few weeks ago, always starts first time after a few pushes of the primer (the red button in the video). No maintenance or anything other than topping up with petrol. 👍

  • @Seimo426
    @Seimo426 3 года назад

    Are you meant to turn it on with the hose pipe in?

    • @thoughtstuff
      @thoughtstuff  3 года назад +1

      Yes. Not walk with it but you can turn the hose on, then start it up and the blades with throw the water all around underneath and clean it a lot better than when it’s off. I do it for maybe 30 seconds after every now and it definitely stops the grass building up

    I watched this because I don’t understand how the mulching plug works and you skipped right over it !

    • @thoughtstuff
      @thoughtstuff  3 года назад

      Oh no, sorry! Basically, when the plug is in you can use the mower without the bag and it will chop the grass up into really small pieces so they just sort of disappear into the grass, meaning less to dispose of. It doesn’t leave loads of uncut grass on the lawn (like if you use a regular mower without the bag), but if the grass is really long then it does leave some mess. I use it loads.
      There are some benefits to the grass as well because all the water and nutrients go back into the soil.
      If you think a video just talking about it and showing it in action, let me know, happy to do one!

    • @brownbreakfast
