    My favorite modeling video. I now have to keep a notebook handy to list the episodes for my future want and build list, of course there is something in every episode. Detailing is improving substantially and the availability of a 3D file in a kit an indicator of the fast evolution of the industry.. Thanks again for keeping up with " what's new". Hope all is well in Somerset Cheers, BOB

      Thank you for your support Bob it means a lot. It’s hectic at home but still managing the time to make models and produce the update videos. Personally I am not planning on buying a 3d printer but I do know a few guys who have one so if push came to shove I could get a part printed 👍

    Some interesting models coming onto the market. I don't normally build military or ship models, but these ship models really captured my attention. I'm happy to see a modern hovercraft model, and I saw the RFA Tidespring on a tour of Portsmouth Harbour when I was a child, and I actually toured the RFA Mounts Bay about six years ago (boarding it in the middle of the sea via a rope ladder, if you please!)

    Regarding your Harrier II question. As I recall the AV-8B was a collaboration between BAe and McDonnell Douglas in the US. Is not the GR5 also an AV-8B but built in the UK? Love the video!

    • @TheScaleModeler
      @TheScaleModeler  5 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve done some digging to check things out. You're correct that the AV-8B was developed jointly by McDonnell Douglas and British Aerospace. However, while the GR5 is a derivative of the Harrier II family, it was specifically developed by British Aerospace for the Royal Air Force with different avionics, equipment, and structural changes to meet UK requirements. Although they share a common heritage, the GR5 is not simply a UK-built AV-8B but rather a distinct variant tailored to British specifications.
      I highly appreciate this type of comment though, as I learn so much from them and I hope this helps

  • @johnhowe3772
    @johnhowe3772 4 месяца назад +1

    It is NOT the Austin Champ; nor is it a Land-Rover 90.
    It is a Land-Rover Series 1 which had a 1.6 or 2.0 L petrol engine or 2.0L diesel (with a wet (oil) air filter) and a 88" wheel base (Hence it is an 88 LR not a 90LR) produced between 1948 - 1958; it was succeeded by the series II also 88" or 109" wheelbase - the LR90 wasn't made until 1983.
