@@happylittlebooks1345 🫣 I DNFed it after 5 chapters. The prologue was so good but, I slowly grew less and less interested after that. There were also phrases and descriptions that made me cringe and I couldn’t get myself to care for the two main characters.
I didn’t get into the discount Armageddon books though I like the author so much that I tried for quite a while. Did you finish Iron & Magic? I hated Hugh so much and then fell in love with him and was so shocked by that. I hope you loved it! I have been in the midst of reading The Belgariad to my youngest - a nostalgia read. And it could be better with gender politics (so much better) but it is so readable. It was my next stop once I ran out of Diana Wynne Jones books :)
I have read Iron & Magic! I was in the same boat as you - I did not like Hugh at all and now I kind of love him?? It feels weird. I hope your kiddo is loving your book choices. =]
