- This chord progression isn't playable in 12-equal - if you play it you end up a half step off from where you started. It is playable in 19-EDO though, where it is a "comma pump" tempering out the comma of 16875/16384, and naturally part of a system first studied by John Negri and now called "Negri temperament." Played on a prototype Terpstra at Queens college.
Whose here from Adam Neely?
Yes
@@MikeBattagliaMusic to my knowledge no but a year ago he posted a Microtonal Christmas Music video and one of the songs in it was in 19-TET so I think some people searched the term afterwards and came across your video.
Sounds like something an acid-drenched psych-rock group from the 60's would go nuts over. In a good way.
Anyone interested in the controller should know that this is an old working model of the Lumatone! The new one is going to be way cooler, as it has metal key actions that feel really sturdy, like a real acoustic instrument, and the key colors are totally customizable with LED lights :)

I'm not kidding, I was planning to make a hexagonal 19-tet instruments. Had the schematics and all. Then I finally see it's been done already :D
@@MikeBattagliaMusic Ok I'll give it a try and let you know my progress :D

@@vsicurella cool, yes, those were quite the thing at NAMM :)
Sounds like a UMO song!
Comma pumps that can be played in EDO's are more like pseudo comma pumps right? I mean, they still eventually circle back around to their original starting place.
It's still called a comma pump; that's a property of the chord progression itself, not the way it's played.
Cool !
