    Nice channel and good tips on this plant. Two notes. This plant is from South Africa and not Madagascar. I often encounter it in Rocky grasslands. Our winters are not as extreme as you mentioned. We get about 9 hours of sunlight in winter and about 14 hours of sunlight in summer. The other interesting note is that once it flowers the mother plant dies but it normally producers many baby pups and these continue one and replace the mother plant

      My Flapjack flowered months ago with four stems about a foot tall from the top of the mother plant and it's still thriving! The mother plant alone is about two and a half feet tall.

    I was gifted one of these at Christmas... it isn't dead yet. 😂
    It did get a crusty dry curling bottom leaf that fell off... so I started watering it less. I live in the north... still snow on the ground. I'm wondering if it is too cold near the window. Our heat is also only set to 60 a lot of the time...

    Thank you so much for this video. I have a big one. It’s about 2 feet tall but it got so tall that now is grow sideways if that makes sense. It has a lot of blooms but they won’t open. Also the bottom on the plant ( the base part ) is bright red and leaves are crispy and curling at the ends. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ty

    Mine has sprouted those long flowering stems. I've let them grow and bloom but now all the flowers have dried out. Do I cut this long stem off? If so, where?

    I've had two of these now, and the bottom leaves get crispy and all of the leaves curl downward. Might I be watering too sparingly? Thank you!

    I live in Southern California. We never have frost, is it okay to leave outside? With afternoon shade?

    • @SucculentsBox
      @SucculentsBox  2 года назад

      That's okay. As long as you don't leave them cold, it would be alright!

      Try moving it to a south or west-facing window 😉 But be careful cause they can burn easily under the hot afternoon sun

      Hi Kayla, there are seven common types of flapjack succulents, which are identified by their color. The name “Flapjack” derives from their unique look of being flat on one side while curving up on the other side.
